Pavilion got a reaction from Firewrath9 in New laptop! Do you keep the stickers or remove them?
If I did this and bought one from eBay, I would get the AMD Threadripper, their stickers really look cool.

Pavilion reacted to SansVarnic in Linux users! Why Linux?
SInce I have been invovled with pcs 'in the way back' I have always seen OS's to be like this;
DOS: CLean and user friendly for the time.
Windows: The common user friendly interface. (continues to be today)
Linux (and distro's): The "programmers" and server OS.
Apple and now Mac OS: the serious media and sound "power user" interface. But this seems to be changing oer the last 5-10 years with improved windows features and programs designed for it. But i cannot say from experience.
Windows Server: never really used it but the more feature rich server interface.
Chrome OS: not worth mentioning other than saying this.
Android: ok at first with potential then google ruined it and slowly is now fairly decent.
Now I am not saying this as fact but this how I have perceived them over the years.

Pavilion reacted to Yazoofiend in So I heard that Raspberry Pi 3 can stream 1080p?
Might want to change the title to something less click baity and more straight to the point. 'Raspberry Pi 3 for 1080p stream to OBS' would be better

Pavilion reacted to genexis_x in Chuwi Lapbook or dell insipron 3452 14"?
Get a used Thinkpad, much better quality and performance

Pavilion reacted to SecGuy in is safe to keep my Dell XPS 15 9560 plugged in all the time?
It is totally safe, Dell might include software that allows you to keep the battery at 70% which is of course better. But laptops today have software that prevents them from 'over-charging'.
However, this will degrade the battery. But so will using it without keeping it plugged in all the time. In general, don't worry about it. If you are really fussy you can keep in between 30% and 70% but that would be inconvenient.
Just use it how you want to, and in 5-6 years get a new laptop if you even have to keep it that long. Chances are the screen or trackpad will die before the battery does.

Pavilion got a reaction from mrchow19910319 in Which laptop for coding for school?
coding is not demanding at all only if you use 3d designing and high demanding apps

Pavilion got a reaction from Amaranth in What's so bad about alienware laptops?
Nothing is wrong with Alienware laptops I owned the 14" model for around two years gaming on it almost every day and nothing was wrong with it, and I find that the new models are well designed. If you like it go for it.

Pavilion got a reaction from Raouf in Is the macbook pro 2017 15" the right choice for a developer ?
I just want to tell you one thing about the new MacBook Pro 2017 the lake of ports is really disturbing and the keyboard is really bad I would suggest that you go to any shop with a display model and try the keyboard If you like it or not.

Pavilion reacted to The Sloth in Replacing Macbook pro 13 touch bar with old 15 retina??
it will largely depend on OP.
OP if you can afford it go for it, i love the 15 inch MacBook Pro.
-
Pavilion reacted to DrMacintosh in Replacing Macbook pro 13 touch bar with old 15 retina??
I get that, but my concern is does OP actually need that power? Its a 13", he couldn't have bought it thinking he could play Crisis on Ultra. Why spend more money if he doesn't have to?

Pavilion reacted to itsmee12533 in Mac Pro or Macbook Pro 15 Retina??
I would say to first of all wait for the new mac pro to release, but if you need something now, I would still keep your current macbook pro, this is because the newer apple products have an intel chip that make rendering possible in the background of editing I believe. Look it up if you don't believe me.
-
Pavilion reacted to GarnetDevil in Mac Pro or Macbook Pro 15 Retina??
I'd say wait for the new Macbook
-
Pavilion reacted to Void Triton in Mac Pro or Macbook Pro 15 Retina??
I honestly wouldn't get a Mac just because they are so expensive and the hardware isn't as good as some cheaper custom built PC's just saying.
-
Pavilion reacted to mrchow19910319 in Mac Pro or Macbook Pro 15 Retina??
Wait until this September , apple is gonna release some next gen hardware.
That may include a new mac pro.
If your current setup gets the job done, hold on to that until this fall.

Pavilion reacted to ShadowCaptain in Mac Pro or Macbook Pro 15 Retina??
