  1. Yay, way to go! Never take her for granted, and tell her these things on a regular basis
  2. Invisibility, hands down. Why? Lurking, IRL
  3. I fail to see your point. Why spend that money on more VRAM if you don't need it? Last gen. Nvidia had "only" 3gb in their gaming cards, and that didn't seem to bother anyone. Or am I the only one who use my high-end stuff for anything other than bragging?
  4. Looks amazing and all, but itäll all come down to the pricing. I wonder if AMD have the guts to price it neck to neck with the 980Ti/Titan X
  5. If the rumors are correct, then the new Fiji, whatever they'll call it, will have pretty much the same efficiency as the 970/980. Slightly lower consumption, but with a 50% bump in speed. That's amazing if it's true. I also want to add that the 290x only had a loud reference cooler, not high power consumption. It was aimed toward the 780Ti, which consumes pretty much the same amount of watts. Perspective perspective perspective
  6. Broken sensor. Don't worry about it. But be happy that you have more than one I got one on my Gene-mobo, and OCCT goes haywire everytime I make a fresh install, and won't let me bench until I disable monitor on that one.
  7. I don't know if this is a dumb question, but how are your grading system normalized if your parents demand that high average? This might sound silly, but in Swedish schools the grades is adjusted yearly, and our average is the national average, which means half of the students are below, and half are above average. If everyone would get above average, the scale would normalize, and the required effort would increase.
  8. I think you guys make it harder than it is.
  9. Sandy = Favorite CPU and my nickname abroad. Dandy = Got this nickname at another forum for writing to formal and stuck up. Seemed appropriate to make it permanent
  10. 8/10 - Looks good. Another 780 and some proper water cooling would give it an edge
  11. The problem is that you in most cases have nothing besides our looks to go on, and that's when it gets creepy. That's why bars still works, since nearly everyone there wants to interact, otherwise we would've stayed home
  12. I hate to be a pain, but remember that degradation of the CPU is accelerated by high temperatures, elevated voltages and a faster frequency. It's most likely nothing you'll need to worry about, but don't use Intel's specified TJMax as a guideline if you are operating at higher speeds and/or higher voltages, since it's calculated from stock frequency with voltage set to auto. This is facts, but it's heavily boosted by my personal paranoia Just keep it under 85°c and you'll be golden. If you experience degradation just back it down a few notches
  13. It's always the same story with a new DirectX. Faster, easier and prettier. DX10 looked a little better DX11 performed a little better DX12 is more efficient, thus giving us either more games, better performance or aesthetic improvement. But it'll not make or break the industry if you have it or not.
  14. First, 295x2 TDP = 500w, 290x = 290w Second, why would you say the 295x2 is hot? That's the one card with low noise and temperatures in the 2xx-series.
