Hello Fourm, My laptop has an HDD (SSHD but whatever) and in order to reduce boot times and increase overall system responsiveness, I wish to disable some startup programs and uninstall unnecessary applications. I have tried to do as much as I could but I would greatly appreciate if y'all could tell me what startup programs I can disable and what software I can uninstall without losing any functionality. Also, are there any services I should disable from Windows 8 settings or 'Local Services' from Control Panel which unnecessarily run in the background? Lastly, I would like to know if disabling Nvidia's background software will prevent my laptop from switching to the dedicated GPU automatically when doing graphically-demanding things and whether uninstalling Realtek's audio drivers will stop me from using virtual surround sound (read this online). Here is the screenshot of my current startup programs: https://imgur.com/ubVsCJG Here is a screenshot of the all the installed software: https://imgur.com/1ypnB7E (Also, what does the underlined software do and why is there so much Intel stuff?) Thank You! FYI: This is a fresh install of Windows 8.1 but it was done through a Lenovo Service Center, thus the lack of 3rd party apps and presence of Lenovo's bloatware.

Android 7.1 via CyanogenMod on Moto G3 Turbo?
Rayhaan Jiwani replied to Rayhaan Jiwani's topic in Operating Systems
They did but there's a snapshot build for Android 7.1 and Lineage OS is not yet available for my phone. And I can always roll back to Android M, right? -
Hello Forum, You may or may not have heard of the list of Moto devices set to officially get the Android N update. I'm using the Moto G Turbo Edition which unfortunately hasn't been confirmed to get the update so I was wondering whether I should use the latest version of CyanogenMod to get Android 7.1. My main concerns about doing this is phone performance and battery life. Will Android N slow down my phone due to its new features or will it improve performance and battery life due to its optimisations? Also, what if I want to update my version of Android (eg: builds like 7.2, etc.) or get the new security patches? What do I do about those? Also, could someone link me to all the resources I'll need to do this? (Anything apart from the custom ROM and recovery file which I'll download from the CyanogenMod's website). Thanks

Windows 10 Fan Constantly At 100%

ShadowCaptain Please help. -
Hello Forum, (It's been a long time but I'm back with another problem XD). I have a Lenovo U41-70 which I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 the day I got it and since then I have this problem of the fan constantly running at 100%, even as I'm typing this my fan is running at 100% but my CPU usage is less than 30% and this doesn't make sense. And more than the noise that's created, the annoying thing is that my disk usage is always at 100% when the fan runs at 100%. It basically makes my laptop unusable since even closing a tab on Chrome doesn't happen in less than 4 seconds or so. As for solutions, I keep my drivers updated and have done some research but come up with nothing. I really need this issue to be solved and I know a full reinstall is probably the best solution but please keep that as a last resort since I need my laptop for important stuff in a few days. Also, link me to how to reinstall Windows 10 because I can't afford to get things wrong, I don't have a spare laptop. Thanks!

Hello Forum, The title is pretty self-explanatory. I want to buy a Steam Link and I want to know whether I can use my desktop (Windows) through it. I know I can use Big-Picture mode and play non-Steam games by adding a shortcut to my Steam Library but I want to know if I can use Windows with it for Chrome and other stuff. Maybe by pressing Alt-Tab? Or is it not possible? Thanks!
-
I want it because I want to get into the series now that I have a good PC to play it on after many years of begging. I was thinking of buying FFXV and a free game would help me decide better.

Hello Forum, As you read in the title, I really need to know how to add textboxes with a descriptio for each in Google Forms. To give you a better idea of what I want to achieve: I want a description such as 'Name' and a textbox under it in which the user can enter his/her name. I can't see where the option is and even the Google Forms documentation turned out to be of no help so it would be great if you gave me instructions preferably with screenshots. Thanks!

Opinions on 12' Macbook? Good for Uni?
Rayhaan Jiwani replied to Humblebeast's topic in Phones and Tablets
You could also check out the Razer Blade Stealth since it's good for on-the-go work but can also be used as a desktop replacement when required by purchasing the Razer Core and a GPU. http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade-stealth -
Well, I didn't know it would be in UE4, I just wanted you to know that I have spent a few hours using it. I could spare some time to help you plan out your environments or just general planning. And don't worry, I'll do it for free since I just want to gain some experience before I make my own game.
