  1. Rig Name: Energon CPU: i5 4690k GPU: 2x r9 290X (I realize that the test does not account for multi gpu setups, thus resulting in a lower score) Memory: 4x8GB 1600MHz Score: 9.8
  2. Hello, I recently upgraded from an fx-8350 build to an i5 4690k build, and I have been having a really annoying problem. In windows 8.1 whenever I try to install the AMD display driver, it keeps giving an error and says it failed to install no matter what I did, even when I tried to install manually through device manager. If I tried to run 3D programs, the screens would show artifacting, the display driver would crash, or it would run it with alot of frame drag. So I tried to reinstall windows 7 and see if I couldn't get it to work like that, however, although the drivers DO install in windows 7, everytime I attempt to load any kind of 3D program(even just the windows assessment test) the display flickers, turns off and then turns on again saying that the display driver has crashed, however artifacting is no longer a problem (although it was intermittent in 8.1 anyways). Everything worked perfectly prior to this upgrade, and I have no idea what to do as google has turned up no helpful information. At this point I can only assume that the problem has something to do with my motherboard, but I would prefer to be sure. My system specs are as follows: - CPU: Intel core i5 4690k (previously an fx-8350) - GPU: 2x r9 290x windforce - Motherboard: MSI z97 PcMate (previously 990fxa-ud3) - HDD: OCZ vertex 3 @ 120GB - PSU: EVGA supernova 1000Watt - RAM: 16GB corsair ram @ 1600MHz
  3. So Ive recently switched over from a GTX 770 that was running three 2560x1080p monitors to an r9 290X; my monitors only support HDMI and DisplayPort so I used to use 2 Dual-Link DVI to HDMI adapters for two of my monitors, and one HDMI connection. I did have a DisplayPort cable lying around that I did use for the monitors now, knowing that at least one of them had to be connected via DP, replacing one of the DVI-HDMI adapters. Now my problem is that my one monitor still connected via Dual-Link DVI to HDMI has no option for its native resolution of 2560x1080, and instead only displays at a weird/stretched 1920x1080p resolution. I made sure it wasn't just my monitor by swapping cables between all of my monitors, and have determined that this only happens when using the DVI connection of the r9 290x. Any help for this would be great, as I am out of ideas, and google search results have turned up nothing for me. Cheers! My System: - AMD FX-8350 4700MHz - R9 290x Windforce - Gigabyte FXA-UD3 rev3.0 (Bios v.F2) - 16GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - 1000W EVGA Supernova PSU
