Demos got a reaction from Masterplew in Thought's about this Section of the Forum.
As I was browsing "New Builds and Build Logs". Lots of "Will you please look at my build for me" post's have been appearing. Now, This is a Build-specific section of LinusTechTips forum, but surely there should be a section similar to Reddit's Build-a-PC, and a section dedicated to fully completed builds and Build Logs.
I love helping out newbie's chosing parts and steering them in the right direction, but I also love to check out other peoples awesome rigs. I really hate wading through all the newbie's to get to the finished builds. One of the reasons why I continually post in BaPC over on Reddit, but theres also a specific function to "auto-search" for Completed builds.
Just thought I'd post my opinions on it. I'd love to see if we can nip this in the bud before we're over-run by "Need the a-ok on my build, can you guys help?!?!" posts in between the builds where people spend insane amounts of time and money on them, and make an effort to show them off, and they get pushed to the bottom by 1000's of non-finalised builds.
Reddit does this quite well, with /r/buildapc and /r/buildapcforme. Both fantastic subreddits and something I'd love to see here.
TL;DR: I like Build Logs and completed builds, I also like helping out newbies. I propose a new section be created specifically to act as a place for new builders to ask their questions.

Here it is :) I can't figure out how to embed yet, when I do, I'll hopefully be able to edit the post!
    Specs are as follows:
    Intel Core i5 3570k
    Antec Kuhler 620
    Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
    Corsair Vengeance 8GB
    Samsung 830 Series 128gb SSD
    Samsung 840 Series 120gb SSD
    Seagate Barracude 1tb HDD
Sapphire Raedeon 7870 OC Ghz Edition
Antec High Current Gamer 620W PSU
    Fractal Design Arc Midi
I was given the Samsung 840 120gb SSD by my folks for Christmas, so I'm planning on putting my most used games on it, as well as Adobe Master Collection and other such programs.
Also later this month I will be getting rid of the Arc Midi and the Antec Kuhler and upgrading to a White Corsair 600t and Corsair H100i, or NZXT Kraken X60 if it become available in New Zealand.

I like Linus because he knows what a consumer wants/thinks. Dat charisma!
Dmitri and Anand for very very in depth.
    MKBHD for phones/android.

I seriously hope nobody votes Logan...

I think it's really hard to measure who is the most "knowledgeable" since technology is such a broad subject. For phones it's definitely Brian Klug but I am not sure if he counts as a "YouTuber" even though he has uploaded a few videos.
For other stuff it's too hard to say if you ask me. Linus doesn't really do reviews so it's hard to say how much he really knows and how much is just him parroting the PR people who gave him the product. Slick is really new so I haven't really seen enough to forum an opinion on how much he knows and doesn't know.
I think Logan is a moron who lies about a ton of stuff so definitely not him.
Wendel seems knowledgeable but again, not really heard enough from him to form a valid opinion yet.
Never watched Dimitri so no comment.
Don't watch Elric so no comment.
No idea who Menacing tuba is but he seems to only do monitor reviews so it's hard to say how much he knows about the other subjects. I can already tell that he doesn't seem to know that much about monitors since he seem to think putting two monitors side by side, and pointing a camera towards them will give any meaningful info (it won't). I might be too quick to jump to conclusions though.

Anand was added? Guess I'll vote for him then. Still don't think it's that easy to say someone is "more knowledgeable" than other people though.

Demos got a reaction from TR1GGERHAPPYSAM in mITX Prodigy i5 4570 and an R9 270X, First R7/R9 build on LTT?
So I built a computer back in December 2012, and my goal with that PC was silence. I wanted it as quiet as possible, and spent a lot of money doing so over a long period of time.

Heres the Build Log and photos in an Imgur Album

One of my friends actually offered to buy my build 2 days ago, and for not much less than I payed for it, so I decided to take him up on the offer and build a new system, one which suited me better and in my favourite case, the Prodigy. I kept my 2 SSD's and sold him the rest of my build. I still need to fix up the cable management, but I can't be bothered at the moment. Prices don't reflect what I payed for, I spent around $1300NZD on new parts. I also got the NH-U12s on a locked processor because I do not like the stock coolers one bit, and the U12s is a fantastic cooler.

Here are some photos, the rest of  the album is here

RAM Choice: Single channel because of price at time of buying, am aiming to get another 8GB DIMM in the near future, a dual RAM kit was around $30 more.

CPU Choice: I went with what suited me. My old rig had a 3570k that I didn't even overclock, because I wanted to future proof at the time. I went with a more suitable 4570 and an H87 mobo.

Case Choice: My reasoning behind mITX is because I fell into BAPC trap of "Get ATX its future proof", and bought beyond what I needed. Don't need a 2nd GPU because I'm fine with basically a 7870. Don't need a soundcard as I have a Fiio E10. Disclaimer this case, while looking nice, is a fucking awful building experience. Beyond ridiculous.

Cooler choice: I went with Noctua for CPU Cooling because I had a good experience with them on my last build, its a nice quality heatsink that doesn't break the budget and is really quiet. I'm well aware its on a locked processor, but the stock heatsink is a joke, it barely keeps the chip cool and it's loud as all buggery.

GPU Choice: Just as I was about to buy a 7870, my local retailer listed the R9 270x on their website, put in a pre-order and shipped 2 days before official release. Not bad. Also the same price as the 7870, so no loss there.

    Future plans include,

Adding a Window Adding an NZXT Hue Possibly more SSD's Watercooling in March next year, Full loop.

In December last year I built my first gaming rig, with graphic design capabilities. Here is the imgur album with original build pictures. It performs just as I'd like, works great in games at mid-high settings and handled Photoshop and Illustrator like a champ. My only issue with it was that it was loud when it was idle, and insanely loud at load.

In an effort to curb this, I bought a PWM Fan for my Antec Kuhler 620, which minimised my noise levels by a small amount, but the pump on the Antec was still the loudest part of my system. I put up with this for a few months until I could afford new parts, having just spent $1600NZD on my build.

Here's a video of the build as well.

Or my motherboard. Asus P8Z68M-PRO. In a Define R4, with a triple slot GTX670, having an mATX mobo is just BAD.

    An Android Tablet

I spent 400$ on a Toshiba thrive 2 years ago, let me tell you the thing was the biggest piece of shit ever, random freezes while doing basic activities, the alarm clock app would crash and not wake me up, the battery life is 4 hours at max, Also when outputting video with hdmi it wouldn't play sound, and there was no way to change the default sound device to hdmi.   Even after upgrading to Ice cream sandwich it was awful,  I would have been so much better off putting that money towards upgrading my computer.
