  1. Different people, different levels of perception. I'm a silence freak. The XFX cooling solution is pretty poor and quite loud. The H100i is even worse in terms of noise levels from the pumps, and its PWM control. Nope. Even with NF-F12's its still louder than most air-coolers.
  2. Silent build and you went with a Closed loop cooler and a GPU with an XFX cooler? o.O
  3. It was released in March/April 2013. That's hardly old, especially in the smartphone market.
  4. Yes. As an iOS convert to HTC One. Yes. Oh god yes.
  5. Awesome thanks! :D Also, nice work on the Intel Reponse Team membership.
  6. Oh dear, that does look terribly complicated. I may leave that until I'm more familiar with... JellyBean iirc? What would be the usage scenario of that type of app? Many thanks Got Shazam and Skype, always essential I'm not a fan of Cloud storage, so I'll shy away from Dropbox for now. I will totally look into Power Toggels and AutoMemory Manager. Also I use Spotify for music, so Poweramp isn't needed Thanks Windspeed! I think if you double click the button to the right of the HTC Logo it opens a multi-tasking screen?
  7. What are those? O.O (I'm a recently recovered Apple Fanboy, though I still love Apple)
  8. Hey LTT forum users! I've just had to abandon my trusty iPhone 4S as it took a dip in the toilet. I went to the shop and notice the HTC One, and after hearing Linus praise it, I decided to spur of the moment buy it. So far, I LOVE IT. It is amazing. It is really quick, very responsive and extremely easy to customise. The build quality is fantastic and it's very nice to use. I like almost everything about it. So my question is this, What are some must have apps or things to have on the phone to make it even nicer? Side note, the included headphones are fucking attrocious. They are the most uncomfortable things in the world. Silly Beats by Dre earphones.
  9. Woah, how'd you incorporate a soundcard into there?
  10. This. It was super nerve racking going from watching the stream to talking on it on a seconds notice. Screening was fairly easy, but I sat in the waiting room for about 30 mins or so.
  11. I got blamed for the static :( Atmidetely my mic was quite quiet due to just buying it the day before and figuring out settings with coms.
  12. I was actually a live caller in the first WAN Show. I chatted about Consoles with you and Slick. One thing I figured was that it was super nerveracking trying to sound intelligent while 4,000 plus Techheads we're listening! No idea how you and Slick do it. 1. Having Guests in the tech/youtube community = 100% winning. 2. Yes Q&A should be Twitter based. 3. My bad! I had a new microphone and was trying to figure out the settings with Razer Comms. 4. It was handled really well by the modteam, they were very professional at handling it. It was cool being a VIP in the WAN Waiting room! Also maybe turn down the Blue Yeti mic juuuust a smidge, as it was quite loud, especially when you get really enthused ;D
  13. I love Josh. The livestream with him, Linus and Slick was almost as good as the livestream introducing Slick. The banter was fantastic.
  14. Quick Update, Finally got my windowed-sidepanel from Fractal Design, only took a month to get here. I've also installed some NZXT White LED's until I can afford to buy an NZXT hue, they are $80 here in New Zealand.
  15. Should get the Noctua NH-U12s instead of the NH-U12P SE2. The fan is a lot better and the heatsink design is SO much better.
  16. The Stinger is one of the worst Z77 mITX mobo's. The Gigabyte follows up closely, then the MSI. Asrock and Asus make the best mITX Z77 boards. The Asrock is the best bang for buck, and the second best overclocker, the board is pretty amazing. The Asus board blows everything out of the water, it's pretty darned perfect, aside from price. The Gigabyte is frankly, trash. It's pretty terrible, sorry to say. Even with the VCore mod, the heatsinks are pretty rubbish.
  17. Awesome log, Just had a wee look through. Curious as to why you went with the Gigabyte Z77N, it is VCore locked.
  18. Google it! Theres loads of tutorials on how to do it.
  19. About the issue with your RAM, Just remove the heatspreaders. They aren't needed, as the RAM will never get hot enough.
  20. I was actually thinking about that awhile back, but I would like to do some OCing at some point, and I wouldnt feel comfortable OCing on a passive cooler. Thanks for the link and kind words though :)
  21. I've got 2 120gb SSD's :) I've been thinking of lining the top and the bottom, just so any vibrations don't get out. Ooh yes, fan controller is necessary at this point. The Antec is suuuuper loud, it's so frustrating. I'm quite sure a fanless unit will fix this. Plus the Antec is not very efficent vs something like a Seasonic Platinum unit. D'aww I hope so. But there are much better builds out there! This is only an i5 and a 7870 :D Thanks for the kind words :) I loved building in the R4, so much nicer than the Arc Midi.
  22. The fan on the PSU is stupidly loud, so it's inside to try and get less noise to me. My plan is to replace it with a Seasonic Fanless unit when I have the time I am planning to OC the CPU, as I have spare time this holidays to learn. Thanks for the kind words :) It's pretty darned quiet at the moment, the only loud component is the PSU. Which is being replaced by a fanless unit. Spelling mistake ;D
  23. In December last year I built my first gaming rig, with graphic design capabilities. Here is the imgur album with original build pictures. It performs just as I'd like, works great in games at mid-high settings and handled Photoshop and Illustrator like a champ. My only issue with it was that it was loud when it was idle, and insanely loud at load. In an effort to curb this, I bought a PWM Fan for my Antec Kuhler 620, which minimised my noise levels by a small amount, but the pump on the Antec was still the loudest part of my system. I put up with this for a few months until I could afford new parts, having just spent $1600NZD on my build. Here's a video of the build as well. Current Parts List Intel i5 3570k Noctua NH-U12s 3x Noctua NF-A14 FLX Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Corsair Vengeance 8gb DDR3 1600mhz Sapphire Radeon 7870 OC Ghz edition Antec HCG-M 620w PSU Samsung 830 120b (Boot drive) Samsung 840 120gb (Games drive) Fractal R4. Current Status Future Plans My plans are: Install more sound dampening material around the case. Install a fanless 500w Seasonic PSU If anyone has any suggestions, please do post, I'd love some encouragement and some good ideas, as well as something I may have overlooked Thanks for reading!
