I recently was working part-time at an electronics show, being a sales promoter for seagate. There was a booth right opposite us selling some kind of android TV box thing, and the sales person was pitching to their customers. He demonstrated how the video wasn't buffering because the servers were local (Singapore) as opposed to in China, which I was okay with. But then he went on to say that even on wifi there will be no buffering, showing the audience that the TV box he was showing off was connected via Ethernet. He said that "Even though this device is connected via cable (Ethernet) there is no lag (buffer)" and "Wifi is actually faster than cable, so if you connect wifi it will be even faster", and it was then I got stage 5 cancer. ._.

Before you go all out on buying this mobo for the color though, do take into account other features such as fan headers, and etc.

May be true, but that board is also super overpriced for a Z170 board to the casual PC builder.

    Hello,

    Are you looking for this?
    https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-DDR4-Motherboards-GA-G1-Sniper-B7/dp/B01AZQ3OC4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1473678630&sr=8-2&keywords=G1+sniper+z170

Green+Black is a really hard theme to find for a motherboard, on pcpartpicker there are only two of them, one being the Gigabyte G1 Sniper and the other being some Supermicro board ( https://www.amazon.com/Supermicro-DDR4-1151-Motherboard-C7Z170-OCE-O/dp/B01ARONDD4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1473678731&sr=1-1&keywords=supermicro+c7z170 , $275) Which is really badly reviewed.

If you are going with a black and white color theme, the next best option is probably to spray paint the plastic parts, however if you are uncomfortable with that, you can go with a full black motherboard.

The red accents on the 270X weren't quite matching the blue motherboard so with a bit of spray paint we achieved this. Doesn't look too bad after all.

The 2nd one would be superior to all in terms of gaming, as it has a 980M as compared to the rest of the laptops which only have a 970M.

I dont see why you would want to downgrade to W7 though, W10 is a lot better and much more recent.

I'm in the exact same boat as OP.
    i5 3570K OC'd to 4.3GHz@1.232V cooled by a H100 and my temps are mid-high 80s when stress testing.

Just in case though, double check that all the screws on the block are turned down tight (but not too tight, of course). It can't hurt to try changing the thermal compound as well cause you never know. I've tried changing the thermal compound on my CPU multiple times, even with different brands, and my temps have remained pretty much the same.

I can say for sure though that if your system is crashing, then it's unstable. You need to bump up voltage (which I don't recommend, seeing how hot your CPU is already running) or turn down the frequency. Also, keep the BCLK at 100MHz - it makes things a lot simpler. I wouldn't touch it unless you know what you're doing.

You would be looking at a WD Black for speed, and a WD Blue for normal usage. The WD Black is fine, but since you are buying in such a large capacity and for stuff that like you said - "games that I only play once in a blue moon", the WD Blue would be a better choice for you.

As a 15 yo teenager, I have this mindset that confiscating my devices shouldn't be the way to go.

In the past (when I was 10, 11 etc), my handphone/laptop was confiscated frequently. My dad would always bring it to his workplace for safekeeping. For what reason I cant remember, but im sure that the school had never called my parents up before. My thinking was that "Sure, you can confiscate this device now. Sure, you can confiscate this other device now." What will happen to the point where I have nothing else to offer to you? Are you going to lug a 70" TV and stow it away in your office?

Also, taking away my devices might be the first idea that comes to your mind, because "it will teach the kid to not do this, that, by making him not have his luxuries." However, this can also cause repercussions for the parents themselves. To us as kids, we would not be able to play our games, or whatnot. To the parents, it will only cost them more inconvenience, as we might not be able to receive urgent messages from our friends or teachers, and the blame will be cast on the parents. Also, taking away our handphones will only not allow us to play games. As an avid reader, I would usually turn to story books to relieve my stress. Are you going to take my books away from me now?

As a teenager, I feel that parents should instead educate their children about what they have done wrong. Instead of just telling them "You're wrong" and just taking away their stuff, parents should explain to their kids about why and how their doings have affected others around them. Its like being a teacher, and instead of just telling you that the maths questions that you've done is wrong and leave you to figure out the solution by yourself, parents should take the initiative to explain to their kids, just like how the teachers would explain the solution to a question you've done wrongly.

Lol, i know the feeling you described of "what are ya gonna do? Confiscate everything?" My parents once went on a power trip and did. Unplugged the TV, hid all electronics, hid my books. They even tried to kill my pet cat. Think that "put me back in line"? Hell no. It freed me. Because i realized a simple truth. Power is an illusion. We only think people have power over us, usually because we want something from said person, or we fear something they will do. But the concept of "power" itself is all in our heads. I realized nothing my parents could give me or do for me was worth the hell they had put me through, so i no longer wanted anything from them. From that point on, i was free.

I don't see it as a negative thing, there are people (like me) who would enjoy a match from time to time and who don't care about all extra modes or that won't probably ever reach level 55, this allows those users to pay a fraction of the game's price and play it anyway. Plus if you really enjoy the game you can buy it later and those 15$/€ will be taken off the purchase of the full game.

For your information, in most cases, motherboards do not really affect performance. A "Gaming" motherboard (Z170 and the such) would perform just about the same as a B150 board. The only reason why you should get one motherboard over another is either in terms of features (Wifi, USB ports, etc), Color scheme (Red, Blue, White) or overclocking features, BIOS layouts. You would be paying a premium to have these extra features though.
