  1. I remember AMD fanboys saying the only reason NVidia released the Titan Xp was because NVidia was "afraid" of forthcoming Vega.
  2. @rondocap Congrats dude! Glad to see everything is working great for you bud! I love my X299 rig.
  3. Vega FE has 2 8-pin and pulls over 400.
  4. That thing trying to cool a 400+ watt card? It will be this all over again:
  5. Poor Vega. Its just too bad AMD recommends a 1500w power supply for it. So not only is it more expensive than a 1080 for less performance, but you have to buy a 1500w PSU to power it.
  6. Nice score! I'm thinking about sending my CPU off to Silicon Lottery for a delid. My CPU is hitting a wall at 4.8/1.29v. I tried 4.9 and 1.31 and still nothing. I think the best decision would be to send it away for delid so I can run higher bench clocks and everyday clocks.
  7. Ouch. Once Coffee Lake comes out, AMD is put back in their hole. When Volta arrives, RTG is officially dead. NVidia could enable FreeSync support with a flip of the switch and take a massive shit on the top of RTG's head for good measure. Not looking good for AMD.
  8. XMP is what your memory is rated for out of the factory. Choosing anything higher would be overclocking. Honestly, I've never OC'd memory before. Hell, I just got into CPU overclocking with X299. That is my next thing to learn though. I'm still getting the basics down of CPU overclocking.
  9. Yep, that's perfectly fine. The IMC (memory controller) is amazing on these chips. I've seen some people hitting 4266. I'm going to pick up some new TridentZ Skylake-X memory chips when they come out later this year. ?
  10. I have the 7820X but he's much more technical than me. He'd be able to help you get your rig up to spec and running.
  11. I've been using Kaspersky since KIS 2009 and never had a virus slip through. Any phishing attempts/malware attacks have all been successfully blocked by KIS. Love their software. Those Russians take their security seriously. Honestly, I'd be lost without Kaspersky. It's refreshing to see them offer a valid product to people for free.
  12. AMD is not showing performance numbers, at all. They're basically comparing the cost of FreeSync vs G-Sync rather than compare RX Vega to GTX 1080 & GTX 1080 Ti. That right there tells me their product is not going to be favorable to their competitors. They're diverting their attention away from their cards onto FreeSync by setting up these tests.
  13. So basically AMD is conceding the high end to NVidia and banking on people going out and buying a new FreeSync monitor. If they had a competitor, they'd show off performance numbers.
  14. NVidia offers what AMD does and vice versa. NVidia has Shadowplay which is very simple to use (just one click of a button) and it's light on resources. NVidia recently (about a year) updated GeForce Experience to v3.0 and it's a HUGE improvement over 2.0. It contains 1 click game optimizations, driver updates & Shadowplay amongst other things. It's very fluid and easy to navigate. Unfortunately, the NVidia Control Panel is still the same old CP of old. It needs updating and hopefully they'll work on that soon. It gets the job done though. Now FreeSync and G-Sync are essentially the same. The huge difference is, cost. To me it's not a big deal since I'll keep my monitor until 4K 144Hz becomes standard. The upfront cost is high, but if you keep monitors for multiple years, it'll be worth it. Typically G-Sync has a wider Hz range than FreeSync. Mine covers 30-165Hz and was one of the more "affordable" G-Sync monitors at $500. If you're into overclocking, I'd suggest MSI Afterburner for all your OC needs. It comes bundled with Riva Tuner which can display your FPS on screen. EVGA Precision X & NZXT CAM are others though I don't have any experience with those. And don't forget Day 1 Drivers for all new game releases. It's such a great thing to have is drivers ready to go. If there's any other questions you have feel free to ask.
  15. Who in the hell is gonna buy a card that expensive except for the most die hard AMD fankids? I mean, you need a 1500w PSU for that thing.
  16. I'll only get the Volta Titan if it's the full die right out of the gate. Otherwise I'll just hang onto the 1080 Ti until NVidia releases the full Titan or just get the Volta Ti. No full die = no buy.
