  1. 300 series confirmed. Pretty neat box art tho.
  2. Beautiful score! What was the voltage for 5.1?
  3. If Intel prices aggressively with 10-20 bucks of Ryzen, the Ryzen lineup R5 and below would be instantly obsolete. The R7 would only make sense if you absolutely need 16 threads. Even then, the 8700K OC would get dangerously close to the R7's anyway. Intel has a real chance to completely halt the Ryzen train right in its tracks IF they price competitively.
  4. Zen itself bred 1 million new streamers & video editors
  5. This article paints a different picture: GeForce Volta is coming - Nvidia and TSMC to increase production of 12nm https://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/damien-cox/nvidia-and-tsmc-to-increase-production-of-12nm-volta-gpus-later-this-year/
  6. I was mocking AMD fans for saying "wait for Navi," "wait for drivers," "wait for FineWine," "wait for DX12," "wait for Asynchronous Compute to be implemented," "wait for this," "wait for that," etc.
  7. 1080 = 184w 1080 SLI = 364w Vega 64 = 334w Poor Vega.
  8. I think the tests should also be done at 1080p to put the brunt of the load on the CPU. But it would be nice if we could get a nice little community together to test the 7700K v the 7800X & 7820X and bring light to the true gaming performance of X299 and see if it lines up with reviewers. I can pitch in myself if we can get a list of games together. *If I help out with testing, I'll have to run the CPU at 4.6 (mayyyyybe 4.7) because 4.8 with 3000 Mesh/ram puts me a little on the edge temperature wise. It's okay for short Cinebench runs but not prolonged gaming benchmarks.
  9. I'd wait for Coffee Lake. If you're not in need of upgrading at this very moment, wait til August 21st to see what Intel has in store before deciding.
  10. Why not just buy a quad and disable a core? There's your tri-core.
  11. I'd wait. I mean if you're not in dire need of performance right now at least wait a bit longer. Intel will announce Coffee Lake details August 21st. Ryzen is not going to go anywhere if Coffee Lake doesn't fit your needs. It'll still be a viable option after you learn what Intel has in store for CL.
  12. What I find funny is the power consumption argument. I see many people hoping Zen 2 raises clock speeds, yet in order for Zen to get near parity with Intel, you're looking at 4.5+ clock speed. By doing that, the AMD fanboy argument of power consumption goes completely out the window. It always gives me a good chuckle to see that mentioned.
  13. No point explaining it. Some people are just too dense to ever understand.
  14. Good to see NV kicking ass. Hopefully they continue their momentum and keep pushing and bringing great products.
  15. What's up with Tom Logan's power consumption? I mean, an overclocked processor will obviously pull more watts but holy sh!t this doesn't seem right. I haven't read Tom's full review yet to see what he was testing to get that number, bit holy moly that looks awfully high.
  16. Hopefully these new Coffee Lake laptops are out by the holidays. It's time to retire this old dual core Arrandale P6200.
  17. I'd rather see Linpack MKL benchmarks at 5GHz. No really, at least Cinebench. Geekbench is the worst.
  18. This is great news for all. These processors are going to be unmatched for gaming and even some productivity. Overclock this CPU to 4.7-5.0 and that's a straight behemoth of a processor.
  19. It does look good and very competitive. Sadly I've got no use for it. It's a solid option for those who do.
