Same here.  We ask for customer's PINs because we need to test the full range of the digitizer input, to make certain the new screen is working correctly without issue.  We've rarely had an issue with the customer refusing, although a few have chosen not to give it to us, so we weren't able to test it until they came to pick it up.

Why, just last week customer #3547 gave us the PIN of 12345.  I told him we'd never share it with anyone.

I work at one of these third party locations. We ask everyone for their passcodes so we can properly test all the features of the phone. 95% of people have no issue giving us their passcode, and the other 5% just change it to something else before they leave it.

I guess a few of them might change it after the repair, but I can tell you most people just dont care.

And if it wasnt obvious, we dont share or sell any personal info or passcodes

This is just complete bulls*t especially with iOS

No repair shop is going to do this is they have the slightest idea of how to run a successful business.

This is no different than if your credit card company didn't allow you to buy illegal things with it. OK that would probably never happen anyway for a variety of reasons but think about it - it doesn't make sense; it's none of their business.  sure, they could potentially share that info with the police or something but, they can't decide what you buy directly.

In fact, it's worse than that.  It's as if your CC company didn't allow you to buy things that might be used for illegal activities, like a gun, or piano strings   Totally ridiculous...

Teak reacted to Bouzoo in Player tricks 3,500+ hackers into getting banned in CS:GO
Almost everyone that plays multiplayer games has encounter a hacker, and no game is notorious for that as CS:GO. Hacking even goes up to Pro League about which we've all seen quite a lot in the last few months. Luckily one player decided it's time to take the matter in his own hands, so he created hacks of his own. What those hacks did is ensured that people using them got VAC banned, among few other things that are not the point of this post. He is not the first one to do that, he admits he was insipred by another player that did the same thing, but this one had a much bigger impact.

It would be best to read what he wrote:

This guy is just great. He is, period. I'll admit, I don't play CS:GO, never did, but can't say I didn't encounter few hackers in older CoD games so this brings a form of satisfaction to me. Especially when hackers are angry at this guy for tricking them. You can see their posts here.
