  1. ahh ok I found it. The website was acting up earlier. Thanks!
  2. the $900 was from the lenovo outlet. I was looking at the dell outlet but I couldn't find one with a quad-core
  3. Not extremely advanced but that is why I am getting the laptop. I want to get more into it. I found a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2nd gen with i7 processor (dual core) for $500. Do you think that would be better for the $ than spending $900 for a T460p with a quad-core processor?
  4. From everything I have heard, I am probably going to need a quad-core processor and I would like a larger (15") screen. Other than that I am not too picky. Thank you!
  5. Hello, I am in the market for a new laptop that would be very capable of financial modeling. I will be doing most of the work through excel and possibly some other programs. I have heard that the thinkpad's are the best bet for their price. It needs to be around a 15" screen as well as have the page up and down keys around the arrow keys. If possible, my budget is between $500-$1200. Do you all have any recommendations? Thank you for all the help!!
  6. I have the M.M.O. Rat 9 and I love it. The colors aren't too important but the customization is crazy. I have been using it for over 2 years and there has yet to be any problem!
  7. Yes, I am using a sabertooth x58 which supports triple channel
  8. Hello, I am looking into some different RAM's at the moment and I am focusing in on some Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer that I think I will end up going with. My first question is what is the important of low CAS latency? I have seen Linus' video about RAM and RAM speeds and he used different RAM's with higher and lower latency's and speeds and the ones with the lower latency's did relatively better. The normal I have seen on newegg is around CAS Latency 9 but the one I want to get is and 8 so what difference will it make with performance and overall will it have any effect on anything I'm doing? My other question is unrelated to CAS latency. I have found the memory I think I will go with but the triple channel version is not in the led configuration I would like. I have found single sticks of it that seem to be the same just not in triple channel packs and I wanted to know whether it was safe to buy 3 single RAM sticks or look for another RAM set altogether. Link's below 1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148514 this is the link to the single stick 2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148523 this is the link to the triple channel set *the one I want to avoid the only difference is the LED's ... I would like the Blue ones Thanks! -Nick
  9. Hello, I am looking to get some new RAM and I am a little confused as to what RAM I should get (speed wise). I can see that there are a lot of different options for RAM and different speeds but what does that mean and could I be getting something harmful to my computer if I get too "fast" RAM. So Im basically asking what is the difference between different speeds of RAM and how do I know which one to get? Thanks! - Nick
  10. Hello! I am going through deciding on some new upgrades for my computer right now and one of the things I am going to change is the RAM. Right now my system is: CPU: Intel® Core i7 CPU 980 @ 3.33GHz Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth X58 RAM: Mushkin Enhanced SP 6GB (3 x 2GB)DDR3 1333 GPU: Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 CPU Cooler: Stock Case: Thermaltake Chaser MK-I So what I want to do is upgrade the RAM to triple channel (3 x 4GB) 12gb DDR3 and I have found some options like corsair vengeance but I think it might be too tall because I want to start getting into overclocking with this computer. It would be too tall because I am going to get a new aftermarket CPU cooler and if the RAM is too tall it might not work. Anybody have any suggestions for what RAM I should get that would be compatible with everything and for overclocking? Also if anything doesn't make sense please let me know! Thank you! - Nick
  11. I definitely don't want an sub-optimal situation... I was thinking of going with the vengeance because corsair is a good brand and it fit all the specifications ... DDR3 triple channel 3x4gb, 1600MHz but yeah any suggestions to get the best situation for both RAM and cpu cooling fan. Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I am looking over them all rn - Nick
  12. Hello! I am making some upgrades to my computer in the near future and I had some questions about CPU cooling. I have an ASUS Sabertooth x58 and an Intel® Core i7 CPU 980 @ 3.33GHz and at the moment I have a stock cooling fan on it. I do not know whether I should get a heatsink and fan or stick with the one I have. My first upgrade is going to be Corsair Vengeance DDR3 12GB Ram so it would also have to fit with that there... I don't know how much that might affect it. But yeah... should I invest in something like that or stick with what I have? If I should invest in it any recommendations? Thanks! Nick
  13. I want to be able to see it on my computer... I think it would look pretty cool. Nothing against software though I just want a physical thing I can touch and see on my computer. Anyone have experience with Sentry LX... the Sentry 3 looks like a good small device... how many sensors does it have? - Nick
  14. Hey! I am looking to invest in a fan controller to put in either one or two 5.25 in drive bays. I have done some looking around and saw a NZXT Sentry LX High Performance Fan Controller but I did not know whether it was a good one or if there are better ones. If anyone has any information about these or anything please let me know! I would prefer there to be a screen, maybe touch screen aspect to it but I am open to all ideas! Thanks! - Nick
