  1. I'm going to put the PC on a wooden board pretty soon. I will take your advice and shop around on used websites for a day or two.
  2. GTX 1050, not TI. I found my result on the CM website to be interesting. Load Wattage: 151 W Recommended PSU Wattage :201 W
  3. I'm not looking for safe. I'm looking for it working. I don't plan on adding any overclock or anything.
  4. It's a prebuilt and is as follows: Intel® Core™ i5-3470 Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.60 GHz) WD Blue 500GB HDD 4GB DDR3 Memory 220W PSU
  5. That's what I feel is true. I am just hesitant because I don't want to have to return it or damage it or something.
  6. I'm not sure where to place this thread, but this will do. Anyways, I am looking to purchase a GTX 1050 for my secondary PC this Christmas and I was wondering if the current power supply can run it. Looking at the paper, no, but I know many of you have more knowledge than me. I currently have a GT 730 inside of the system. On Nvidia's website it recommends a 300W PSU and draws anywhere from 25W-50W. The GTX 1050 recommends a 300W PSU aswell but draws 75W of power. My PSU is only 240W. My GT 730 runs well so will the GTX 1050 run well? Before you ask, no, I will not upgrade my PSU. I cannot. It's OEM and proprietary as well as the motherboard so even if I did upgrade the PSU I would have to grab a new Ivy-Bridge motherboard which will run me $75. No. Here's my PSU info.
  7. Thanks man! I might go for this!
  8. Dude, thank you for your advice, but that's not the question at hand. I don't understand why you cannot answer the question or not answer.
  9. I'm in want of a new keyboard this Christmas (currently using CM Devastator) and I'm not sure which keyboard on the cheap I should get. Mpow Mechanical Gaming Keyboard,87 Keys Anti-Ghosting PC Gaming Keyboard with Blue Switches or AULA Anti-ghosting 87 Keys Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Blue Switches,USB Plug By AFUNTA -Black If you guys have any other suggestions, even some more expensive, I would love to hear them.
  10. Here's a keyboard + mouse to consider. https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-MasterKeys-Mem-chanical-SGB-3040-KKMF1-US/dp/B01KBXKMM6 Hardware Canucks did a video on them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSiyRI11E3Q
  11. Thanks for now. I will update you the second I get around to this.
  12. half of the exhaust goes through the top of the unit and actually cools the unit and the other half goes out into nothing. if i blocked that bottom half, would there be issues?
  13. I have a new problem though. If I cut would out to support the power supply, the fan's (the part sticking out) exhaust be blocked by the wood and would it cause issues?
  14. Thanks man! That's just the general knowledge I was looking for.
  15. Again, would the heat of the power supply melt the adhesive?
  16. Again, would the heat of the power supply melt the adhesive?
  17. CAN'T LOL I WISH. Proprietary motherboard connectors. I wish. On top of that, I want to keep this really cheap as this is a side project and I have no source of income at the moment (14 yr old). Do you think the duct tape adhesive would melt under the heat of the PSU?
  18. I desire to transfer a proprietary power supply out of a pre-built HP system and onto a wooden board along with the motherboard and hard drive. I plan on cutting out some wood and placing the power supply on a block to stabilize it however, there is an issue. There is no mounting hole anywhere. The power supply mounts with a latch on the case. I was wondering about the safest way to secure it. Securing it cannot be with screws as there are no mounting points and I don't want to make my own mounting points at all costs. Any ideas? Thanks.
  19. So you're saying something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106251 wouldn't work?
  20. You're building an unlikely combination. The 1050ti is normally ran with an i3. Why are you looking for so much CPU horsepower?
  21. 11:00 PM Thursday, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is when it starts, right?
  22. When you press the on button, nothing happens? Not anything?
  23. If it's a graphics card, it will fit on the motherboard. Guaranteed.
