  1. I editted it in, so Im not sure if you saw, but would this be different if I dont care about the current contents of the 250GB SSD.
  2. I have a 1TB HDD with a lot of extra space.
  3. Everything. In reality I only want to keep the files on the 128 GB SSD.
  4. I have a 128 GB SSD in my current PC. It's a dated SSD but it still runs great. However, my laptop has a 250 GB SSD from Samsung, one of those 850 EVO. I want to put the larger SSD in my PC and have the smaller SSD in my laptop. The 250GB SSD is nowhere near capacity as it's in a laptop with not much on it. Is there a way I can put the data from the almost full 128GB SSD onto the 250GB SSD and have the little data from the 250GB SSD go to the 128GB SSD? Both are carrying OS.
  5. Oh yeah.... I completely agree with you here. Miners should not be able to use the manufacturer's warranty.
  6. I don't know if this is all that unpopular, but miners and gamers should be treated the same by manufacturers. They are purchasing the cards for their own personal use.
  7. I haven't read other comments but I'll tell you what it's worth from my eyes. First, the RAM is DDR2 from the looks of it. This means that it's incompatible and really isn't worth anything on the used market. The CPU is most likely less than 3 GHz and less that 2 cores and not a modern chipset... you see where this is going. The mobo is useless and the case is too. The only good part is the HDD if it isn't too slow.
  8. They're just laying around for him. He's not mining. But yeah, I probably won't due to the talk of the crash.
  9. Yeah, I'm worried about that. However, there are a bunch of cryptocurrencies out there. I'm not sure, but I would assume that at least one will be profitable.
  10. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RJdWRG I'm extremely new to mining but my buddy is willing to sell his 2 x R9 390s for $499. According to the calculator online I used, it'll be 4 months before I profit. That's okay for me. Is this a good build for mining? Any pointers? Thanks!
  11. I never said it was illegal, however, ISPs don't like when their bandwith goes towards torrenting and can respond by throttling (somewhat illegal)
  12. I would agree with Tom here partially. Rust is a whole lot of fun. It is a open world survive-from-scratch multiplayer game. You can pick it up fairly quickly and is updated weekly (every Thursday) so you know it has dedicated devs and will be maintained for a long time.
  13. There's multiple issues that can cause a sudden decline in overall internet quality. Your router needs a firmware update. Here's a guide to navigate to your router's page and from there you can check if you need to update your router's firmware. Your ISP is throttling your internet connection. This can happen for multiple reasons (torrenting being one.) If this ends up being the issue, there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. Your WIFI or Ethernet Adapter isn't working as well as it used to. If you're using WIFI, switch to ethernet temporarily and see if the issue persists. I'm assuming the ethernet port you use is the one on your motherboard. You may want to purchase an external PCI-E ethernet adapter card.
  14. The Silent Base 600 by Bequiet is very very good if you can stretch $20.
  15. No. The lowest-end Pascal card is the GTX 1050. EDIT: This information is outdated. The lowest-end Pascal card is the GT 1030.
  16. @OP here's my last bit of wisdom. Go Intel if you're going to game more than anything else. Go AMD if you're going to be utilizing those cores. Encoding, streaming, etc.
  17. I'm not saying it's not. His needs only really require an i5. He can save $100 and only lose a little performance. His daily workload is more GPU intensive than CPU intensive.
  18. Dude. This is very, very nice. I love the custom budget direction you went here. This is Grade AAA.
  19. It was a pain in the ass to read.
  20. Translation: I am buying a computer from best buy I would like to build a computer but I don't have the time so I am calling the amazing community of ltt to help me find the best computer for my needs what I want my budget: somewhere within 1,000 us dollars I want a gtx 970 or later now where I lack knowledge is in cpu's I want something that is good for gaming not really anything else I want at least 5 gb of ram LOOKS DO MATTER!! I do care about look I don't want a dull pc but yet not a overly hyped one at that please send me link to pc that match my specifications I am aware I didn't say everything I wanted but those are some guide lines thankyou!!!
  21. Do you hear that? That sound.... It rings in my ears from a distance. Oh no, "Wait for VEGA" cries an AMD fanboy.
  22. Exactly what I touched on. These are worst case scenarios. He will have a fantastic time filled with boats and hoes.
  23. In short, no. Allow me to explain myself. A GTX 1070 will provide you with amazing performance but do not expect to hit the 60FPS mark on high settings at 2K. That's not possible with 2017 AAA titles. You will be able to run games on 2K on high settings at 45-55 FPS or 60FPS at 2K, only you'll be running games on medium to high. This isn't a huge draw back at all. Medium settings often looks okay because of the high resolution. Here's a screencap from Dmitri's recent video on the 1080TI release. The 1080 struggles to obtain the 60FPS mark that you desire. That's why I predict anywhere from 45FPS to 55FPS on high settings. Please keep in mind, the GTX 1080 was put under worst case scenarios. You'll have a great time on medium settings.
  24. That's BS and you know it. I only own Nvidia graphics cards and Intel processors but I would upgrade to an AMD part anytime if I needed to. That's cheap man and I would take advantage of it. There's no difference between it and the 1060 equivalent.
