Cactu reacted to SpaceGhostC2C in How to tell color 'depth'?
While it's hard to tell what specifically is behind the positive impression you got, at least you'll have a comprehensive list of specs in that page to guide your research

Cactu reacted to Sakkura in How to tell color 'depth'?
Basically, with 10 bits rather than 8, you can have 4 times as many shades of each color.
But that only measures how granular the colors can be within a given color space. So you want both as many bits as possible, and the largest color gamut possible. In this case, the TV has 10-bit color (30-bit counting all three color channels) which is great, and a gamut covering 74% of the NTSC color space, which is pretty good.

Yes. You might see a little bit of banding in some situations, but otherwise the colors should look pretty much just as good.

It's a true 10-bit panel:

Panel type (ASV) I never seen before, but seems some TFT evolution.

The color depth is largely irrelevant with regards the actual color you're seeing. The color range that a monitor is technically capable of is what color space it supports and can actually cover. Most monitors and displays will support sRGB at the minimum to some varying level of accuracy. And then there are other, "wider" color spaces like AdobeRGB, DCI-P3, and Rec.2020.
So for example, an 8-bit color panel that supports Rec.2020 likely has a "deeper" red than a 30-bit color panel that only supports sRGB, assuming the red channel is at maximum

I have a 20 foot extender and have used it with game controllers before. Never explicitly tried a VR headset but I wouldn't expect issues.

Cactu reacted to Max_Settings in Should I buy HD 600's for gaming?
58X is what I would get for your budget for gaming. HD600 has very narrow sound stage so positional Audio is very bad. I have HD580, HD58X, HD600, HD6XX, and HD660S. I know that series well. 660S is the best for gaming out of all of them, but they are expensive. 58X would be #2.

Well I wouldn’t say 6XX is more quality. They are different, neither one is better. 6XXs also need an Amp to be driven well, whereas 58Xs do not.

Differences between the 880 and 58X?
-
Cactu reacted to Max_Settings in Should I buy HD 600's for gaming?
Ah. Sound stage on the two is the same. 58X has more low end, sharper highs, and better imaging. 6XX is more relaxed with rolled off highs.

Cactu reacted to Max_Settings in Should I buy HD 600's for gaming?
Sell them then. They don't loose a ton of value.

No but they aren't sharp at all, just more than the 6XX.

Cactu reacted to STRMfrmXMN in Looking for a new ~700W PSU
Your system won't draw more than about 300W so an EVGA 550G2/GS/650GQ/B3 should be fine. If you can fidn a Seasonic G-series or Focus Plus as well as a Corsair TXM for a decent price too then these are all good options for you.

Cactu reacted to Okjoek in 2016 USA Presidential poll for LTTforums
I guess Jill Stein is my pick, but she's not ideal for me either. I don't agree with her views on Nuclear energy for example, but I support a more socialist policy that she represents.
Between Trump and Hillary I like and respect Trump more, but I don't agree with him especially if trickle down economics is his policy.
Hillary is just WW3 confirmed.

Cactu reacted to Weak1ings in 2016 USA Presidential poll for LTTforums
Kinda funny that this came out, since Hillary wants us to think that Trump would cause this... I do agree with you though, While Hillary wants to hate Russia, Trump wants to work with them.

Cactu reacted to johnny5c in What charger should I get for this battery
These IMAX chargers are decent for the price, runs on AC and DC so you won't need a power supply. Also has JST balance ports and a XT60 charge lead so you won't have to buy anything else.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__58285__IMAX_B6AC_V2_Professional_Balance_Charger_Discharger.html
Your battery has a 1-3C charge rating so up to 3.9 amps but a 1C rate is usually recommend especially on smaller packs like yours so 1.3 amps.
