  4. hey ltt forums. im in need of help with my build im doing; a budget minecraft server and lan gaming pc. now i know what you are all probably thinking "minecraft? really? why are you at a dilemma for a computer based to host that game." me and my friend are doing things such as large world edits and "Voxelling" which takes up a lot of ultilities since a lot of chunks are updating almost all the time while we build. so i need to be able to do these high intensity actions and have no lag. my buddget right now is around 300 dollars canadian. ( i already have the case, cooler, and a power supply that can be a placeholder till i make more money to get a dedicated one. here are some examples of the work ive done. so you can kinda see what i mean. http://i.imgur.com/XqDqkY9.png my current list of parts for this build are: cpu: Intel pentium g3258 (chosen because of how high of a clock speed the chip can get at the price, as my budget is fairly tight and that im pretty sure minecraft doesnt utilize multiple cores (quad cores or more) so this should be fine) motherboard: ASRock Z97M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (cheap and can overclock. + z97 chipset) ram: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (chepeast ddr3-1866. chose 1866mhz because minecraft uses a lot of ram and itd be beneficial for less lag) cpu cooler: thermaltake water pro 2.0 case: Corsair Air 240 MicroATX Mid Tower Case (wanted a case that i would like since i will be upgrading internals when i have more money.) (probs shouldve just got no case but my ocd would go crazy) gpu: not really needed imo but ill be taking this out of my main gaming pc and putting in here EVGA GeForce GTX 670 4GB Video Card sc any help is appreciated. thanks
  5. which currency? 2000 - 2500 including cost of a monitor?
  6. im at sort of a dilema. im planning on my next PC build and not sure if it's even worth replacing my cpu and motherboard. my current pc is running an x79 asus sabertooth motherboard and an i7-3930k. (which is the 2011 socket). looking into the x99 motherboard i noticed that i cannot use my i7-3930k on it since it doesnt support lga 2011. im not one with a whole lot of money so im not sure if i should make do with the current motherboard cpu setup i have now and save the ~aprox $1300 CAD that i would otherwise spend on two parts. any input is appreciated! thanks!
  7. THERE WAS NOTHING ON THEM TO BEGIN WITH I USED THEM FOR 3 DAYS

  10. hey i have two 2.5" 750gb laptop HDD's that i used for a total of like 3 days. bought them back in like 2013 for my laptops but hated the speed difference from SSD. (since my tower had an ssd) i bought my laptops two corsair force gs 240gb's and decided to deal with less storage for the stability of ssd since i was traveling a lot with my laptop. how much do you think i could sell them for? (in CAD) research see's them at around 200 new, but i probably cant resell them for that much. any ideas?
