Why do you care what brand your rear speakers are? They do not have to brand match. LCR is your most important for brand/model match.

Some of these comments just hurt my brain. Yes you're fine at that distance. The C8 is a good tv. Buy it and you'll be happy. Enjoy gaming and watching tv on your 55 non eye burning tv.

Your research would be correct. In my opinion those are the best tvs out. I have a C7. If you want superior motion processing and have the money go sony. The C9 is still an amazing tv. Burn in is one of the most fear mongering things I've seen in tech in the last few years. Treat your device like normal and not on 24 7 you have no issues. I've had mine on for 10 plu hour gaming sessions a few times and have never had any issues. 

Refer to my above questions lol. So I can help give a full solution. And you don't need rears actually behind you, beside you gives a decent effect.

Smell might just be some corrosion that happened on the board when it was wet. Should go away. Everything still working fine?

I watch plenty of TV on my OLED and have zero issues with static images. Coming from an OLED owner, not just someone who reads reviews on them. It's a non issue. Turn your tv off once per day, you're good. Watching ESPN for 6-10 hours straight, even with their bright red ticker, is still a non issue. Source- I own an OLED and have put it through that. It's fine, going 2+ years. OLED gives you the superior image quality. OLED is more natural colors and significantly better blacks. QLED always oversaturates (just a samsung thing), so it "pops" more but doesn't look as natural. If it's going to be used for a mix of gaming, movies and tv, OLED, mostly gaming, QLED, movies, OLED.

Finally another actual owner, not just a review reader. There is a reason people want OLED over QLED in high end setups, theater room or not. OLED has the superior black levels, and NO ONE needs to watch a tv anywhere near the nits that samsung "claims" I've been around them for a few years, they are bright, but it hurts the eyes most times. OLED is plenty bright and have a far superior panel.

What are you intending to do with a camcorder?
 
The main issue is that camcorders are a dead market; unless you are dealing with specialized pro video cameras, most people doing video work these days are running with DSLR's and mirrorless cameras for the same work.

If it got to the plug end I meant. Odds are it was some sort of moisture damage.

Your phone out has an internal amp, giving it fake gain essentially. The receiver has to be turned up to a higher volume to match that gain, the more you turn up the non amp'd gain (receiver) the more noise introduced. Impedance was the wrong term for me to use. A hum is just noise and bad grounds.

On my setup, my turn table, and preamp both have grounding lugs, as does my receiver. You should have it on one of those things at least, if not all. Replace your cables with some new ones and check the result. Just look for rca's with ground wires build into them. They look like a little pigtail thingy.

With a $1500 budget you aren't limited to much, you have access to anything really at 55". I would not get the P series if you have that kind of budget, yes it is the only Vizio tv that is worth a damn, but you can get into the new Q60/70 in that range, LG OLED's, and Sony 900F's. You can get very premium, way more than a Vizio. If your budget was around the $800-900 then yes the Vizio is good but not if you can do more.

There really isn't a "sweet spot" with size. Everyone's different. Also from your specific use case you could do a 43 or 49. 55 may be too big. But say a 55 you would notice the difference between a premium panel with 120hz native and a mid to low end panel with 60hz panels. 43 and 49 are forgiving. Without physically seeing your space. It's what you think fits best. I've had 75" TVs and have went to 65" but higher quality and I'll take quality over size any day. 

Why are you even trying to run 4.4.4 on a Vizio television in general, let alone a D series, also why are you even using it for movies? Are you even using it as a PC monitor (where it actually matters)? That TV cannot even reproduce those colors. I don't understand the struggle here?

Because it's a cheap amp with box marketing. Not a chance it hits anywhere close to that.

Pretty much that. An HDR label on the box doesn't mean jack. That is why some retailers won't carry certain brands because the HDR standard isn't set on what can be on the box or not, so some retailers have more strict requirements for the manufacturers to sell their tv's with the HDR branding on the box. Once you read into the specs on the tv, you will realize it doesn't support full HDR10, just a capability to display HDR content.

That's an awesome tv at an awesome price.
 
You can just hook it directly into tv. You will lose ARC volume control if you have that currently, but optical from HDMI shouldn't sound too much different, if at all. As long as you're happy with volume control having a separate remote, then just go direct into tv. You can get into new 4k receivers for very low cost this time in the season. I've been finding a lot of Pioneer Elite 103's, 303's open box for under $300. You can catch crazy deals right now. But honestly, I would play with it on the receiver and the tv and see if you notice a difference.

Just use the hdmi. It offers more formats and simplifies the controls by using your tv remote for sound. It’s just easier tbh

Stop leaving unnecessary stuff turned on. Invest in led bulbs. Smart home control can save you money when setup properly as mentioned above. All relative too though. Even if I’m only saving pennies. The value of my time and piece of mind that I have those things and use them to my benefit are part of the cost or cost savings as well. Can’t just look at the straight monetary value here. 

those speakers should have a rca connection on the back of the subwoofer where everything connects. Use a digital optical to rca converter for like $12 on amazon and go from speakers rca to the adapter then digital optical from adapter to tv.
