  1. before I turned up the fan speed it was running at like 58 under load...is that bad? and I know TF2 is more dependant on CPU but I got a constant 120 with my gtx 670 now it jumps from 45-220...It may be the card I don't know how I would check though I've just never had major problems with my PC so now that I am I'm lost haha
  2. I shouldn't be in TF2 I would think? And why would turning my fan speed up change my fps in BF3 from 32 to 80...like really that's all I changed I don't understand
  3. My 970 confuses me, I was getting terrible performance all I did was turn up fan speed and now some games get 2-3 times the FPS....  Only in some games though..like BF3/BF4/ Other games like TF2 and The Witcher 2 still run bad....
  4. TF2 runs anywhere from 25-220 It's very inconsistent
  5. Even if it was I shouldn't be getting worse performance in most games should I? And I wouldn't think It would be a bottleneck in TF2.
  6. Hello everyone! I know there are probably several other 970 threads already but I figured I'll have different specs and everyone seems to have slightly different issues so I started my own. My problem is just that in several games I am getting lower performance than I did with my gtx 670 and I haven't quite been able to figure out what is causing it. From talking to a few other people on the forums it appears that it may just be my card, but I thought I'd post my specs and such here and get more feedback! OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit Motherboard: F2A85-V PRO Processor: AMD A10 5800K GPU: GTX 970 SC RAM: 16 GB 1333Mhz PS: GS700 Watt SSD: 850 Evo 256GB HDD: 3TB WD Red Bios Version: 5104 Driver Version: 347.52 (Not sure if there's anything else I should list?) Here are some screenshots showing GPU/CPU usage while playing some games. They are all running on high at 1920x1080 Things in VR are also running much worse with the 970

    Gtx970 FPS

posting these just to show someone the framerates I was getting :P All games were run at 1920x1080 on the highest settings except the Withcer2
  8. R.I.P my PC until I have more money then
  9. I didn't have enough to upgrade everything at once I just upgraded my card first, I didn't think my performance in all my games would be worse though.
  10. My friends think it may be my processor. which even if my processor is the bottleneck of my system I shouldn't get worse performance with a new card should I? I would think it would be atleast the same??
  11. So should I just return it and get another 970 then? I didn't think it was the vram issue but I don't know a ton haha. I'm glad to hear that it's probably just a bad card and not my computer dying though . I tested some random games not sure if it matters but here are frame rates. Skyrim:~55-60 Battlefield 3:~32 FPS Battlefield 4:~45 FPS Witcher 2:(recommended settings)~15-45FPS (drops everytime i turn the camera) AC:Unity:~30FPS Far Cry 4:~45FPS Dragon Age Inquisition:~35FPS TF2:~20-70 apparent random drops Battlefield Bad Company 2: Constant 70 but looks as if the frame is constantly stuttering Counter Strike Source: 250-300 but appears to stutter. Metro 2033~30FPS Metro Last Light~35FPS Tomb Raider Benchmark: Avg 88FPS Anything in VR\=Horrid screen tearing Anything I didn't list settings for is running on the highest available. However on a few such as BF3 and BF4 I tried lowering it all the way and saw almost no change. Anyway you get the idea, I'll probably return it now after talking to you guys, hopefully someone can confirm that framerates shouldn't be that awful in some of those games though
  12. Hi guys! I was just wondering, is it going to be possible for future drivers to fix the 970 at all? I'm currently talking to EVGA about sending it back but I thought I'd get some feedback from some people on the forums first! Since I got the 970 I've noticed performance drops in almost all my games which ran perfectly fine on the Gtx 670 I had. With the exceptions being Assassins Creed Unity and Far Cry 4 which do seem to run better. But in games such as Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, The Witcher, etc. everything is worse. I've also noticed that anything in VR appears to run horribly with my 970 while the 670 handled it just fine . I doubt driver updates will improve things like this much but I thought I'd get feedback from you guys! I hope I posted in the correct spot as I am new to the forums haha. Thanks guys!
