  1. Of course I want free stuff. Who wouldn't?
  2. It took awhile to come to this decision, but it would have to be smart switch.
  3. No errors found in the scan. I put the hard drive in my computer, and it does not crash. I put my SSD into his computer, and it does not crash. I'm going to try to put the hard drive back and see if it still crashes. EDIT: For the memory dump. Do I open it in notepad, or is there a special program. I'd rather not break it.
  4. Alright, I did a memtest, and it came back with no errors.
  5. I'm going to run memtest and see what comes up.
  6. When I go to install it it tell me that it can not be installed in Safe Mode.
  7. As you can see I already tried that. Unfortunately, I do not have a spare copy of Windows.
  8. So, my friend is currently running Windows 7, without any updates. Whenever he boots up his computer, it is fine for five minutes, but then crashes and gives a blue screen of death. I looked up the error code, which is 0x0000003B, which is apparently something to do with IEEE 1394, which is Firewire. To make matters worse, I tried using a hotfix from Microsoft, but I can't get it to install before the machine blue screens. It doesn't blue screen in safe mode, but I also can't install the hotfix in safe mode, for what ever reason. Does anyone have any idea?
  9. It would be a shame if that is indeed the situation. I'm giving this board and CPU to a friend and was hoping that would be a thing I could get working before I give it to him. I'm sure he could deal with it.
  10. As you can see from my title, I'm using a rather old motherboard. It has two three pin fan headers. I thought that three pin was enough to control the speed of fans. Am I incorrect in thinking this? Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
  11. I have already done that. I have put on some Arctic Silver 5, and the temps haven't gone down too significantly since I did that. Also, I don't feel like it is a safe temperature, when my own Intel Core i3-2100 runs at 30°C on idle.
  12. So, I have a friend I built a computer for. The CPU(named in the title) is running way hotter than normal, as shown by Speccy, when idling.. Everything else seems to running at a normal temperature. I ran Prime95 for a tiny amount of time (only a little bit, since I didn't want to kill the processor) and temperature only went up to around 84°C. I have a roasewill CPU cooler on it, along with four fans inside a mini-tower case. Do you recommend a new case/CPU? Where do you guys think the problem lies?
  13. Welp...I already uninstalled it. We'll see what happens once I do the reset. I'll be sure to post the result.
