  1. Hay guys, I was wondering if anybody could help me, I have a new company workstation with dual xeons in they have got 22cores each. When I'm not using this beast to render images I'm going to throw it at folding along with my pair of 980ti's. The problem I have run into tho is the windows F@H client doesn't allow me to throw more than 32 cores at a single folding slot / Work unit. (first world problems) Now to get around this I have just assigned a few more Folding slots to make use of the extra cores. But that is obviously hurting the PPD due to the quick return bonus. Does anybody know of a way to assign say 80 cores to a single work unit? Currently the Xeons are adding up to approximately 250 000 but i think they could to a little more if they were all helping towards the same quick return bonus. Thanks for your help guys
  2. Hay guys, I thought it would be interesting to hear exactly what hardware you guys are running to get that much PPD the people I'm asking in particular are: Peter_Purves Crashfodder pete_m I am running 2x980ti's and a 680gtx and usally average right around the 1mil ppd I don't bother with cpu folding as my 2700k only seems to get 20k ppd. I look forward to hearing about some sick folding rigs! Cheers Andy
  3. I would say 18 seconds is pretty fast already! There is a certain amount of initialization that has to happen when you start a pc that does not depend on the speed of the SSD, Loading windows isn't the only thing going on. I would say that at sub 20 seconds your doing pretty well!
  4. MY QUESTIONS: Is EK good choice ? Yes Have you some experience with their products ? Yes Do you recommend them ? Yes I have enough space for two 4 cooler radiators, should I take them ? What? Isnt it too much ? Yes Is it worth the extra money ? No Is there any cooling difference between EK-Supremacy EVO X99 - Nickel and EK-Supremacy EVO X99 -Full Nickel ? No not really Are there any problems with warranty, when I will liquid cool ASUS GTX 970 ? Possibly Should I take graphics card from any other company ? Maybe If you have any other recommendations or anything, please help me, I am very thankful. Basically It seems like your spending a lot of money on water cooling when instead you could buy better components, such as an 8 core cpu, 980ti and a nvme M.2 ssd Don't get me wrong I have water cooled various pc's but generally its because I enjoy the process of doing it and the looks its never really because it provides value for money performance wise. If I was you I would firstly buy the best components I can afford, then later I would look at water cooling. Also don't under estimate how much money fans and pipe fittings will set you back.
  5. Hay guys, Anybody else loving the ppd on some of these core 21,s
  6. I fold with an I7 2700k (overclocked) + 680gtx + 980ti and if they were folding flat out 24/7 it would cost about 30 English pounds of electricity per month. So to off set that go out drinking beer one less time per month!! Solved
  7. Deltek, You are indeed correct, a few things have seemed to give a crazy client ppd reading one of them being a driver problem. The 980ti has settled down to anywhere between 380k and 450k work unit dependent (although if it gets a nasty core 15 it was as low as 115k) My 680 is running a core 17 10469 project at the moment and the estimated TPF is a massive 23 mins, it 25% through the WU and usually by this point its settled down to anywhere between 3 - 5 mins TPF. Has anybody else come across this? is it just a particularly large WU?
  8. Hay, the 680 varies from 90k to 110k depending on project on core 18, back when it was on core 17 units it was all the way up to 130k. I was getting some odd errors with the 980ti so I'v put it back to stock clocks, that combined with a different core 18 project has seen the ppd drop back to 500k. still on about 620k ppd for an i7 2700k @4.8 + 680gtx stock clocks + 980ti stock clocks is good enough for me! Thanks
  9. Hay guys the 980ti amp extreme turned up. Turns out its a monster! 705k ppd on the 980ti alone with the rest of the system that makes it upto just over 800k Screen shot attached Id defiantly recommend this card! Thanks Andy
  10. Hay guys the 980ti amp extreme turned up. Turns out its a monster! 705k ppd on the 980ti alone with the rest of the system that makes it upto just over 800k Screen shot attached Id defiantly recommend this card! Thanks Andy
  11. Thanks for the reply guys, Ill be well happy then, should see me inside the top 10 producers for the team! Thanks
  12. Hay guys, Just ordered a Zotac GeForce GTX 980Ti AMP Extreme Edition and I'm going to be adding it to my folding rig. Currently im getting upto about 130k ppd with my i7 2700k @4.8ghz and 680gtx, Im looking forward to adding the 980ti. What sort of ppd do you think we can get out of this 980ti keeping in mind the high clock speeds (Core Boost Clock: 1355MHz & Memory Clock: 7220MHz) Im hoping to boost my total up to 500k ppd. Cheers Andy
  13. Hay guys, I'm running a Grid+ Fan controller with the cam software. I have finally got the Cam software to see the Grid+ but now it seems the fans are not really compatible. No matter how I map the fan curve the fans only operate at two different speeds, off or full. I assume this is something to do with cheap shitty fans that are attached. Has anybody got any experience with some decent fans that ramp up nice with the Grid+, I'm really just wondering which brand and model of fan i should sink my money into. Just for information sake the Grid+ is operating fans attached to my 480mm Radiator. Thanks for your help guys
  14. nice 530k ppd would be a nice amount! Thanks for the info!
