TechFnatic got a reaction from Luc401 in Printer Server?
A real print server would probably be along the lines of you deploying the printer through a group policy so that any computer on the network could print to that printer. In your case you sound like you just want to print when you're home, is that correct?

TechFnatic got a reaction from VerticalDiscussions in Apple is 40 Years Old!
I'm not a big Apple fan, but you can hate them all you want, they took advantage of a market at the right time and now they're one of the big 5's in Silicon Valley. Jobs was a opportunist and brilliant marketer but Woz was the brains behind it all.

TechFnatic got a reaction from spenser_l in Need help with Python Scripting!
Thanks for the reply, Java does seem like it is more cut out for this project, maybe I'll pick up some Java this weekend and try to the project using that. Although I am sure there is a way to do this using python, some of those links really helped though, so thanks!

TechFnatic got a reaction from fank in [WORLDWIDE] Free Game Development Course by Udemy
Hey guys if you're interested in game development with Unity I came across a pretty sick deal. This is a $250 course but it's free at the moment, there is a solid 21 hours of content and it's taught by a legitimate academy:
https://www.udemy.com/unity3d-master-unity-by-building-games-from-scratch/?couponCode=CODE7&siteID=lzAk459zR_w-3boQdmiogE5n3a8lwtl.3Q&pmtag=ALMAGEST13&LSNPUBID=lzAk459zR%2Fw
Have Fun!

TechFnatic got a reaction from RedWulf in Lenovo or nah
I haven't used any of Lenovo's pre-installed tools on my thinkpad and I did a clean install. There is a package you can install off of Lenovo's website to get those pre-installed tools back.

TechFnatic got a reaction from KRC1023 in ram compatibity??
Yup, as long as the RAM is the same latency and voltage it should be good to go. They're also the same frequency so you're fine there.

TechFnatic got a reaction from E.Beadle in Partition Recovery - Asap HELP!
Sadly you most likely will not be able to fully recover the data since some of those sectors on the disk have been overwritten with new bits, therefore those old bits (data) are gone. The only things you can recover are the empty sectors, this is something I have not done before so I'll leave it at that.

TechFnatic got a reaction from Unhelpful in Wireless Adapter - PCIe or USB
PCIe, in my experience it is much more reliable as it tends to have more of an immediate connection with the motherboard and processor and won't be affected by a dead USB port like a dongle would

TechFnatic got a reaction from Ridska in Why isn't there a headphone company founded and based in Finland ?
There probably has been people that have tried to start headphone companies but they've failed so you haven't heard of them. It's pretty hard to get into the industry considering the giants like Bose and Sennheiser dominate the market. Don't let this discourage you, good luck with your headphone ventures

TechFnatic got a reaction from g1ngernator in [Rumor] Dyson Developing Electric Car
I feel like they would've had to have done this 5-8 years ago so that people would actually buy them. Who is going to go out and buy an electric vehicle from a company that makes vacuums when we got Tesla and others out there who dominate the market. Only thing that can help them is their pricing, but even Tesla has a middle class vehicle which is relatively cheap

Honestly, the best way to protect yourself from all the shit floating around on the web is user awareness. Know what sites you're using and what you're downloading, simple as that. Anti virus can only do so much
