  1. With the 2080 Super poking it's nose out in about 12 days, I was wondering if the price drop on the 2080ti made it worth it now? Compared to before. My 980 is starting to show it's age in newer title, even going as far as medium 40 FPS in Assassin's Creed: Origins which is killing me inside. I have the budget for a 2080ti (Currently 1500 CAD) but if even with the price drop it is not worth the performance compared to the speculation we have for the 2080 Super I will not pull the trigger on it. What do you think? I tend to stretch my cards untill they can't support newest titles at 60fps on high/medium so I don't know if that changes the worth of the card, like if the 2080ti would last longer than a 2080 Super. So there you have it, my current dilemma is between 2080 Super and 2080ti. Thank you very much for your opinions.
  2. Hey guys! With the upcoming (and release) Navi and RTX Super Awesome Go-Fast-Stripes Fire GPUs coming out, I had a question on my mind. How much time does it usually take for 3rd party companies like EVGA/MSI/ASUS to get their cards out? I want to wait to see actual reviews and temps before buying a new GPU, from either side. Also I saw that Nvidia released a new OEM cooler for their "Founders Edition" cards, which I haven't seen much info on but my wild guess is that it runs as hot or close to the old blower style? My current 980 is like my own personal volcano, it's nice to say but not really practical in reality.
  3. Hey guys! I got Assassins Creed: Origin in this months Humble Bundle and I realised that with my 980 I could play it at low-ish settings at around 60-70 FPS. I just didn't like the experience, so I was looking to switch my GPU to a new one. At this point I have the budget to get a 2070, around 700$ CAD, but I was wondering if that was a good move or not. Are there any speculations about when the new GPU lineup will be poking it's head out? Would it be a better move to buy the 2070 now and get on with it or save a bit more while waiting for the new gen and be able to dish out around 1000-1100$ CAD? If I was to wait for the new gen, I'd get the top of the line if possible. I have nothing agaisn't going to AMD instead of Nvidia, I'm just looking for a GPU that can last me as long as my 980 I guess (Wich I got on release day in 2014). Thank you for your opinions!!!
  4. Hey guys! My Hyper X Cloud II mic recently broke and I wanted to replace it. Right now I'm looking for something a bit more "professional" to get into streaming and such. For the moment, I was looking at the Audio-Technica ATR-2500-USB mic wich would fit perfectly in my budget but then I'd need a mounting arm and a pop filter that would fit (Sorry, I'm a total dork when it comes to audio stuff). I'd have a budget of about 40$ CAD for an arm and a filter. Thanks alot guys!
  5. I don't think I have the MSI Command Centre thing, but I'm currently updating my Killer Network drivers, I'll keep you updated throughout the day, thanks alot!
  6. Thanks for the links, you suggest updating my LAN drivers? I also have killer network manager, so I guess it'd be the first link?
  7. Two 8GB sticks. and yes, MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard.
  8. Hey guys! Since I built my computer probably like a year ago, I've been having trouble with my RAM. I don't know what the hell is happening but it looks like my RAM isn't flushing itself or something because, slowly over time during the day, it builds up to 99% and then my computer freezes. I've done multiple malware check and deleted some programs that I felt like were useless and/or sketchy at best. If any of you guys has any idea on what to do here, my friend also has the same problem... I couldn't even take a picture (I actually did but it says it's corrupted or something wtf) but I can tell you more or less what was opened: Maplestory, taking about 330 MB (Don't judge me on this I like the game) Chrome, taking about 200 MB and some other daily stuff like steam, uplay, discord and teamspeak. If you need any more info, just tell me and I'd be happy to tell you!
  9. How did it work? How did the game know wich GPU to run on? @Naeaes I could order one but I'd have to wait for it to get here, I'd just put my AMD card in the lowest possible slot to not get in the way of my 980 and it's really a low heat card
  10. Hey guys! I don't know if this has been asked before but here I go, I actually have 3 screens (2 in use and 1 just laying around) and would like to use them all at once. The problem is, the last one is a old VGA only screen that I would put above my others in case I stream for the chat/alerts and so on BUT my 980 doesn't have a VGA port and I'm already using the HDMI and the DVI for my 2 other screens. I also happen to have an old AMD HD8XXX something something laying around that has an HDMI port and I have a HDMI to VGA adapter that I can use for it. My question was: Could I run my 2 main screens and my games off of my 980 and then run the chat/alert screen off of my AMD stupid 1gb DDR3 and get away with it no problem? What impact would I see if any? How would it work? Thanks!
  11. Well, it's almost LAN time for me, and I don't think I'll transport my 760T around another year... This shit is way too big! I was looking at maybe M-ATX cases or ATX cases with some handles and a lightweight chassis. - I'm willing to buy a new motherboard, seeing as I got a LGA 1155 i5-3330 laying around doing nothing. - I'm gonna buy a new PSU for the case - I already have 8GB RAM laying around as well So that's basically it, I'd just move my 980 around from case to case depending on if I'm going to a LAN or not. If there is REALLY nothing you guys can find, I can buy a bitfenix prodigy M and a new motherboard and switch all my setup over for good (I'd have a 760t to sell though). Thanks for your help guys!
  12. Hi guys! My friends laptop recently broke and he decided it was time to join the gaming master race. Here are the only things you need to know: - Budget between 800~1200 CAD - Can be mATX/ATX, it doesn't matter - No need of any peripherals - No need for the OS - SSD for windows and like 2-3 games (120GB would be plenty) He doesn't want something huge like an i7 seeing as he's only gonna be gaming on it and doing nothing else. The CPU also doesn't have to be overclockable because he has no knowledge about computers and other things related to. He's fine with the original heatsink on CPU if it's intel, otherwise if you guys suggest AMD I guess we could add a 212 EVO somewhere in the budget. Thanks alot guys!!
  13. I really want to buy the screen for the aesthetic (Curved is a big plus) and the ultrawide aspec of it! It fits right into my budget and is a great size for the new desk I will have saturday. I'll think about it a bit while I put the money on the side but if anyone has anything else to say, speak up!!
  14. Hey guys! I was looking to make the switch to ultrawide very very soon and the famous 34UC97 that Linus reviewed caught my eyes. The only problem is the 34in for me is really too big and when I go to LANs we can only bring screen up to 32in wich would mean I couldn't bring it... So there I found it's little brother, the 29UC97! The only problem is that I can't find it anywhere (Not even on LG's website!) other than NCIX and another wierd canadian site that I don't trust... Now, apart from that, is there anything you guys would have to say about this/these screens (Implying that the 34UC97 is exactly the same thing just bigger with a 1440p screen instead of 1080p) may it be bad or good? Here's the link for the screen: http://www.ncix.com/detail/lg-29uc97c-b-29in-curved-ultrawide-97-110178-1204.htm *PS*: If anyone has this screen I would like a review, that would be awesome!
  15. G502, I really like the shape of it compared to the 303 but that may be just me.
