Ganz got a reaction from Bananasplit_00 in Microsoft's real reason for purchasing GitHub has now become clear | Your private GitHub repositories aren't actually "private" anymore
I was at the microsoft event in which the announced the visual studio 2019 preview and a lot on where they talked about this.  They use open source github repositories for some features including a new (and incredible) feature called Intellicode for AI assisted intellisense.  Private is not open source.

They offered the capabilities to add your own private codebase so it can learn your own habits (such as business) and that learning only applies to you. It does not share that with others.

Here's some information I have in my notes from the keynote regarding, Visual Studio 2019, Intellicode and GitHub.

Visual Studio 2019 will have heavy github integration (which scared me because they had no information on TFS though I can confirm from the preview it still integrates just the same with TFS).  Some of the cool new features coming in Visual Studio 2019 include an extension called intellicode.  This extension used AI/Machine Learning to examine open source GitHub repositories to provide real-time 'smart' intellisense offering suggestions that make the most sense.  If you just use the base intellicode extension you are getting only what its learned from publicly available GitHub repositories.

You can also provide it AI your own codebase to learn from as well as change the config file on styling.  For example if you have an agreed upon company wide styling, you can provide that to intellicode.  From my understanding of the whole talk, the AI never touches private repositories.

Nat Friedman (GitHub CEO) also was there to talk during the keynote.  Not much is changing with GitHub.  In fact Microsoft themselves were pushing open source the entire event.

As far as I am aware this has been a thing for awhile.  I have had to play sales tax on Amazon for well over a year at this point.  Not sure where the figures of Amazon only collects sales tax in two states.  I know for sure there are more stats than just Washington and Pennsylvania they collect tax.  The law was, any place an online retailer has a physical presence, must pay tax if I remember correctly. Here is an example from a recent Amazon order.

I am actually fine with the Dyson vacuum sponsorship, even from other youtubers doing it.
Maybe I notice it more, as my father started a small business from nothing, but people forget that starting a business is SUPER demanding... as in: little sleep for days on end, it is really hard and so much things to do, and 1 wrong step, could collapse everything. That is why you have the "baby effect", where when a business is not doing well, founders are attach to it like it is their baby, and won't let go, when it should be let go due to, and many times, changing times, and failed or simply cannot adapt. So much time invested loss, but also great care and every penny spent is carefully thought out during the company growth.

YouTube doesn't make much money and sponsorship is needed. Yes Linus today makes a lot of money, but remember he has many employees, requires super expensive equipment, location, materials, and more. And what I like about the sponsorships, is that while, yes it is an ad, it is not your traditional TV ad or a stupid infomercial where you go "fake" at every step of the way, and find a million flaws. It has the personality of the creator, and they do they own thing showcasing the product.

Beside I got a Dyson, and they are actually excellent vacuums. Doing research, i quickly discovered that vacuums that actually do a decent job, cost around the same price or more. I just opened BestBuy flyer last week, and noticed a Miele vacuum for 1000$ Canadian. I could buy 2x Dyson on special (well, not the battery ones, but the normal ones). And that is not some exception.. at 350$ Canadian you still have crap vacuum that does, at best, and OK job once all its filters are cleaned/replaced, but not comfortable to use, and reduce in suction rapidly.  Of course, the best is central system, but that is a different market. Anyway, my point is that Dyson does decent stuff that is all. It's not some crap product that is being pushed into our face wasting everyone's time... granted most people are younger audience and don't care about vacuums, but isn't that Dyson wasting its money?

Hmm I have a highly different opinion on that video than you do.  The gpu shortage caused by mining is definitely felt; just look at the forums here.  I am sure with Jay he sees the same thing.  You make it sound like a bad thing that he doesn't like seeing all the media about us the *average* user trying to find reasonable prices.  You said it's like a professional sports player complaining about equipment prices.  You're missing a key point there.  It's like saying a professional sports player is complaining that the sport they play isn't growing like they want because the cost of equipment prices.  It's not about the professional it's about the people who make up the majority.
That makes sense why you think Jay is wrong.  Because he is caring about the community you are a part of and you don't. Sounds more like you are barking up the wrong tree instead of Jay.

Best thing to do is call your local authority and check with them rather than going off what we tell you. If we turn out to be wrong, saying you only did what people on the internet told you isn't going to fly (haha) if you get in trouble.

I'd assume it's fine if you're a mile out and where you're flying isn't restricted air space.

It's worth noting that even if there's flight paths over where you're flying, they can start at certain altitudes as well.

Basically though, it's always best to call the local authorities and check with them to be certain. I plan on getting a drone at some point as well, but I'm going to have to do some checking. Even though I live in what is mostly farm land where flying drones is fine, it's also directly under a common flightpath for Eurofighters and military cargo/transport planes (which tend to fly really damn low over my house) from several RAF bases. I'll likely have to check RAF training flight plans and sorties before flying the drone.

These are fairly common sights directly above where I am:

Eurofighter Typhoon (probably a group of them every other week)

Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules (only a couple this year, but they're massive)

There's also more activity of the US Air Force from Lakenheath and Marham is supposedly getting some F35B Lightning IIs next year (The SVTOL variants) so may see some of them. If you like drones, perhaps you like aircraft, so you may have found that interesting.

Yes, you actually register yourself and stamp your ID on all drones you fly. You don't go and register each drone individually, rather you stamp your ID you get from the FAA on all drones you fly.  It's actually a quite simple and easy process.

I agree there.  I like high frame rates, my eyes respond better to higher framerates than they do to resolution.  I like 1440p because it's easy-ish enough to drive at semi high framerates and looks better than 1080p.

On topic: if you go above 24" I would recommend 1440p or higher as at normal distances it can look pretty poor.  (For reference I run a 3440x1440 at 100Hz).

Also am I the only one that doesn't see the extended entertainment value in the Battle Royale genre? Especially the ones with single maps that always rely on the luck of finding a good gun & the skill of using it? OR only having a single gimmick of some wavy blue thing closing in on you instead of multiple gimmicks that might actually be interesting?

Or maybe I'm thinking too much into it. Obviously I wouldn't make any money as an indie dev lol

This exactly how I am.  I pay and am willing to pay what I think something is worth. Not what someone else tells me it's worth.  I haven't bought a game for $60 in a long time.  I either wait until it goes on sale because I personally don't think it's worth full price (won't play it a lot OR don't know if I will play it a lot)  or I shell out for one of the special editions etc when I know I will play the game a lot and want to support the devs.
