Not really surprising to me. Guess it can wait, thanks. -
Recommendations for a Thunderbolt 2 Add-in Card?
Redsun20 replied to Redsun20's topic in Storage Devices
In that case, it is highly unlikely that I will be able to find one. My current motherboard is the MSI H81M-E34 -
If it came with Windows installed, I would reinstall it. Just take the product key 1st, as you will probably need it (depends on if the laptop was manufactured with 10 by default). You can download the "media creation tool" from Microsoft here, and load the installer onto a USB drive. Then, boot to that and install windows.

So, I have recently been given a couple Lacie external Thunderbolt drives. I would really like to use them off of strictly Thunderbolt, as well as having the ability to connect other Thunderbolt devices. I've been looking around, but just cant seem to find any PCI-E Thunderbolt 2 (yes, i mean 2, i need the the mini DisplayPort style connector) add-in cards. Are there any that you guys have had experience with, and possibly where to find them?

If you want all the fans to be running at the same speed, you can use a PWM fan splitter, and plug that into your CPU fan header. That should be able to have set RPM's per temp range.

You will have to contact your internet provider, they are the ones who control your IP

Well, you aren't moving your keyboard around anywhere near as much as your mouse are you? Also, latency is generally more noticeable on a keyboard, as you are waiting for a press, not a movement. Also, running a fully mechanical keyboard on batteries doesn't seem like the easiest thing.

They put restrictions in there for your safety, so you are putting yourself in more danger by trying to bypass them. I would not be holding on to it anyway, it is a safety to you and people around you. You are aware it has been recalled right??

internet Every night at the stroke of midnight
Redsun20 replied to SimonsSay's topic in Troubleshooting
You need to access the router through a web browser. Give 192.168.1.1 a try It may also ask you for a username and password. The default values for TP-link routers are admin password -
internet Every night at the stroke of midnight
Redsun20 replied to SimonsSay's topic in Troubleshooting
Most routers have a built in scheduling function. At a set point, they will reset in order to maintain proper operation. You can go into the router settings and see if this is turned on. I would recommend just moving it off to a less significant time (most people are assumed to be asleep at midnight, but there are acceptations). You know what the router IP is right? -
You can try plasti-dip; just make sure to tape off everything you don't want to cover.

OK, simple enough. All you need to do is create some folders on your HDD for you files (documents folder, movies folder). Then go to the ones on the SSD (the originals). Then right click on them and select properties. Once you get there, select location and then add the folder on the HDD. Then copy the files over, and delete them from the SSD. Note: you don't need to actually create the folders on the HDD if you are on windows 10, you can just click move. I only said that barbecue I don't know what OS you are on. If you are on windows 10, you can just hit move instead of adding a path in.

nice card and chair vs excellent card but no chair
Redsun20 replied to orangebeaver45's topic in Peripherals
Unless you are running full on 4k at high, you don't really need a 1080. I would get the chair and 1070 -
Maybe, but I would upgrade it anyway, as 8GB's is pretty much the standard these days (It wono't hurt anything). In order to know if it will help, we need to know how much you are using while running games. If you are at very close to full capacity, an upgrade will definitely help.

what graphics card are you using? There are just 2 motherboards and a CPU
-
If this is the max throughput that you are rated to get, cat 5 is ok. If you really want to, you can get cat 6, but no way cat 7.
-
That is pretty much 1 gigaBIT per second (that is megabits per seconds, not megabytes), so cat 5e is fine, cat 6 is overkill, no way cat 7. So, if you have cat 5e, you should be just under max throughput, if you really want to you can upgrade to cat 6, but it really isn't necessary.

Seems like a good plan. Thanks guys.

So, I just replaced my G3258 with a 4690k (i wanted to still be able to overclock but have more cores without spending a huge amount of money. I do a fair amount of rendering that is CPU only). I still have a 750ti for my graphics, but I want to upgrade that later too. Not to sure what the best option would be, but is a 1050ti or a 1060 an ok choice for that CPU? I would lie to stay on the green side, as I already use many of the Nvidia only features, and would like to keep them. To tinkering, and not to planned obsolescence!

I agree, I just wanted to answer the question, i was to lazy to continue

Are you trying to clone it to a new ssd? or are you just going to use it in a addition to the ssd? if you are using it in addition to the SSD, just change the boot priorities and you will be good.

The easiest way to clean under the keys is using compressed air. You will have to remove at least (and likely only) 1 key to clean the whole keyboard. Honestly, the best advice I can give is be very gentle. Give the key a little wiggle and try to pry it off (i am no means an expert so someone please fix my errors). Most keys generally pop off, just don't do big keys like shit or the space bar (they make things more complicated). Once you get a key off, get some compressed air and blow all the crud in the direction of the missing key, and then you can remove it from there. If you don't want to risk taking a key off, you can try this without it, but it will just kinda pile up somewhere.

I don't think the pictures are right, they are both outputs. huh?
