  1. If I do a hard reset on my computer which has multiple hard drives, will the programs that are on the non-boot drive remain? Or are they registered in some way on the boot drive?
  2. I just discovered Microsoft Edge does not have this issue. I'm using Opera.
  3. Cable has 8 wires. Wifi adapter disabled in Device Manager. I have 1 router, I don't have wifi extenders. The issue still exists.
  4. Updated post with more information as requested
  5. When my PC starts, my internet works fine for a brief moment and then it's not working for 4 minutes or so. Then after, it works fine. The ethernet symbol in the bottom right is not showing a warning sign like normally when my internet has a problem. It just shows as connected and working. Default gateway for my local IP is also not accessible during that time. ipconfig seems OK, local IP is correct. log: http://pastebin.com/raw/WMHXJQKC PC-Specs Windows 10 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Realtek RTL8188CU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter TAP-Win32 Adapter OAS Samsung EVO SSD Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz 7.95 GB RAM BIOS time: 10s I cannot find a driver information section in my turd bios, but windows says it's up-to-date. My ethernet cable says CAT-5e, which, according to this, is 100Mhz Where do I look for the problem?
  6. Is it possible that the OS was never 100% successfully functionally installed due to a breaking hard drive?
  7. How heavy is a VM with ubuntu and game servers? What parts will most likely suffer/break?
  8. I'm not really looking for performance I just don't want my PC to die from the VM.
  9. I'm experimenting with servers using ubuntu on a 2nd PC. It's over 12 years old, really slow, and it has its problems... Once in a while, strange errors and issues occur and I have to reinstall Ubuntu Desktop for it to fix. Now I'm wondering if I'm better off using ubuntu in virtualbox on my main PC instead. 1) I'm wondering about the hardware wear on the main PC. People say servers destroy hardware. And also, having 2 operating systems running. My main PC is not necessarily fast / durable. 2) I'm wondering about the power usage of an older PC. 3) It's just not a nice way of working with this crappy old PC. But I'd rather destroy that than my other. It's not that good either but I don't have anything better. Main PC: Intel® Core™ i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz 8GB RAM GeForce GTX 650 64-bit 2nd PC: Intel® Celeron® D CPU @ 3.20 GHz 1,5 GB RAM Gallium 0.4 on NV4A (night vision?) 32-bit (Another option is to just get hosting but I'm not ready to put up anything finished yet and I'm not sure if I want to go that route) Thanks
  10. Do you do any of these or something else simultaneously? Like so much that it's not fast enough to use a workspace switcher like ubuntu, mac, and windows 10 have?
  11. It seems like it's gone now. I tried various solutions and I'm not sure what worked. Something odd was that windows update had 7 updates available but "Failed" This video has a variety of solutions, I went through all of them and none worked I installed the updates manually, which worked. I'm not sure if this was the cause of the issues. Right now, on boot it sometimes had 100% disk usage for 10 seconds and then back to 0%. While other times it doesn't, just 0%. The BIOS time has gone down for some reason, it is at 6.7 seconds. I'll continue installing my necessary programs.
  12. It starts doing this out of nowhere There isn't even any program running And then it's back to 0-1%
  13. I did yet another image restore, with the SSD only connected I'm getting some waving usage on boot up to 50% and they get smaller and smaller to be 10% at most. After a while it is consistent at 0-1%. But it is still strange. Before the issue I installed Steam (with no games), Git Bash and BitTorrent, and I uninstalled them all with no effect. They were all on the HDD except BitTorrent because it is in AppData. Git Bash was acting very strange, the installer responded 3 minutes after being run. Never had that before.
