asdfDEMi's Achievements

  1. Been eyeing this short-throw projector for a little bit, now. Definitely a perfect fit for a pop-up movie night with the loved ones.
  2. Simply need a wired mouse to replace my aging G700.
  3. Vessel: asdfdemi https://www.vessel.com/videos/LCoY5zfFf https://www.vessel.com/videos/G-DUjgUyY Twitter share: https://twitter.com/TheBrianDoan/status/580452552401096704
  4. Would love to use this for the massive amount of video work I do on a daily basis. Currently finding the limits of my 3770K, so I could use an upgrade to a hexacore.
  5. Favorite thing is probably the lighting kit, because I've been wanting to put some lights behind my monitors for a nice, more aesthetically pleasing ambiance in my room.
  6. I got one last OnePlus One invite with less than 10 hours left. Anyone can use it, but first come, first serve! To whoever claims it, enjoy! https://account.oneplus.net/invite/claim/8EMB-Y7IL-IKDV-SBWT
  7. Dang, how I found out about LinusTechTips. I don't even remember exactly when or what video it was, but it had to have been some time before I built my first gaming computer. Back then, LinusTechTips was still a 1-2 man team with Linus and occasionally CameraMan, but I continued to watch LinusTechTips videos because I loved the amazing content and even the progression from just a simple tech YouTuber to a full blown company. I may not have been one of the firsts to stay faithful to the LinusTechTips channel, but I know that I will continue to support the channels and the work Linus Media Group pumps out.
  8. Favorite thing about the Z2 is its uncompromising attention to detail. Favorite thing about dbrand is that their skins really can spice up and make a product unique.
  9. Favorite thing is that it is an all-around kind of performance laptop that can assist with my productivity needs.
  10. My favorite thing is the customizability of the UI to get right to your personal preferences. Without flashing a new ROM, I feel like the LG skin is very versatile.
  11. The Gigabyte P34G v2 is close to my budget, but the build quality looks rather cheap for the kind of money being dropped for that notebook. For the budget though, I do feel like the P34G v2 fits the bill the best, but I'm still keeping a keen eye out for anything else that may come out. Are there any other notebooks that might come close?
  12. Sometimes I do get tempted to go for the MBP, but then after I get a splash of OS X and using the keyboard (specifically no Windows key and the addition of the Mac keys) in Windows, that temptation quickly flies away. I think the most important pieces I need is the screen, portability, and the little extra power of a dedicated graphics card.
  13. Hello all! Seeing that Computex 2014 is coming to a close, it reminds me that I am due for an upgrade to my notebook. I am looking for a notebook to fit my very specific needs, and was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I do a lot of photo and video work, but for this notebook, I will only expect to do my photo work on it. I will be doing some very light video work on this notebook, but primarily only for small previews and edits before I end a shoot and transfer the rest to my desktop. I expect to bring this notebook on shoots with me, so portability and display accuracy is a large concern. I will NOT settle for a MacBook Pro. Despite how enticing the hardware is, I will not work in Mac OS X. Yes, I could install Windows onto a MBP, but I would much rather have a machine built for Windows. Build quality must be top of the line. Screen size: 13-14", maximum 15.6" but no less than 13" Screen resolution: 1080p bare minimum. More is not necessarily better in this category. Screen type: IPS that covers at least 100% sRGB color space. Again, more is not necessarily better, since I do my work in sRGB anyways. Does not have to come pre-calibrated. CPU: i5 or i7 Haswell GPU: Dedicated is preferred for my heavy Photoshop, light video rendering workload, and occasional video streaming (can use NVENC with OBS). Also, I do some light gaming from time to time, but I do have a desktop for the bulk of that anyways. For this, I would prefer something akin to an 850m or 860m. RAM: 4 or 8 gigs Storage: Preferably an SSD, but hopefully I could just swap out the storage drive myself, whether it be M.2 or a SATA drive. Battery life: ~6-8 hours (Under light loads) Weight: <6 pounds Price: $800-1500. The sweet spot is around $1200. The reason why I want a 13-14" notebook and preferably not a 15.6" notebook is because I actually prefer not having a numpad on the right. I would much prefer having my trackpad centered to the home row on the keyboard, and fairly close to centered on the notebook. I have looked at the new ASUS GX500, the ASUS G550JK, the MSI GS60, and the Gigabyte P34G v2. (There might be a few that I'm forgetting) The problem with most of these is the price. I would prefer them to be as close to the bottom end of my range as possible. Again, the primary purpose is for my photo and video work, and portability is just as important. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Or even if you have any preferences on the few selections I've picked out, please weigh in. Any input is greatly appreciated. I prefer not spending close to $2000 on a notebook, but if you do think I should take a look at something, please try and convince me in any way you see fit. Thanks!
  14. Favorite thing? Probably still that Boom Sound.
