TheRocK reacted to Stav Kats in Asus 7970 Platinum OR Gtx 770 ??
Get the 7970. It beats the 680 and was the king of single GPU cards untill GTX Titan came out. A 770 is just a 680 with more memory frequency, so 7970 Platinum>770.
Hope it helped!

7970 as it's very similar to 770 in 1080p performance but better in 1440p performance, and you get free games.
Also the extra memory would help in some games

They should perform fairly similar after overclocking since the 770 is bascially a higher memory clocked 680 and that was about the same as a 7970 so consider surround and 3d and see which one is best for you

Sry, but i forgot my crystall ball AND time machine at my nuclear lab. Cant help you now, but be back in 1 month.
On the other hand, if i was buying NOW, i would go for 7970 Plat and OC it for graphic performance, and 770 for cuda, silent fan.
Id go for Plat bro.

TheRocK reacted to bartekxx12 in Why does 30 fps look smooth in a video, but choppy in a game?
I'm not exactly sure but I would assume these 2 things play a big part in this -
A YouTube video or just videos in general, if they are 30FPS then it's constant 30FPS, each frame is shown exactly emm... 0.0333s after each other. In a game the times may be different, where overall you saw 30 frames in a second, but 25 of these could have been in the first half of the second and the other 5 in the second half meaning it's not consistent resulting in choppiness.
Another thing is input lag, if you are running a game at 30FPS and move your mouse (assuming no delay for the monitor to display the picture, no other delays at all, just pure FPS) then your input will be shown on the screen 0.0333s later. If you are running at 60FPS then the next frame after your input will be displayed in 0.016667s meaning you have to wait less for whatever you did to be shown on the screen resulting in a smoother experience.

TheRocK reacted to Jimstah87 in SilentCure - Custom Watercooled 650D (New camera pix)
Hi LTT Forum, here I have finished the first PC I have ever built. It ended up coming a lot further than I had first set out plans for. The purpose for this build was to upgrade my now six year old core2duo laptop. I wanted a rig to be great for gaming and for general use.
I never had planned to do a complete custom water loop in the case, though the money situation started to look up beginning of this year and so I decided to go for it.

TheRocK reacted to XiaoPigs in What Option should i choose!! PC UPGRADE
Option 2 but I would change some things.
1. Get a Z77 motherboard otherwise the 3570k won't be worth it since you won't be able to overclock it.
2. Switch up the 660ti for a 7950. They are both about the same price and the 7950 outpeforms and overclocks better than it. Plus it comes with three four free awesome games which you get from the never settle bundle.
