  1. Could you possibly cite any of these changes, please? This was released a week ago (prior to E3 as I've said already) and nothing whatsoever has changed since its release.
  2. I missed the part where MSFT started to make more sense? These license TOS are old and were released prior to E3. None of this is new. Eurogamer sums it up quite nicely: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-07-microsoft-kills-game-ownership-and-expects-us-to-smile
  3. Agreed. That was the only video I'd stumbled upon which wasn't of the laptop behind that damn glass/acrylic case ASUS had it in :/. Quite worried about the resolution, though. Windows just isn't ready for ultra-high res just yet, and it will take far longer to implement than it took Apple. Would have rathered they went with 1080p and let the Iris shine without having to worry about pushing so many pixels.
  4. Short answer: No. Long answer: The release dates of the Performance and Extreme Editions of Nehalem and Gulftown architectures almost exactly coincided with the release of their desktop counterpart. Intel did not wait nearly 2 years to release enthusiast Nehalem or Gulftown cpus. We're not being pushed to enthusiast/extreme platforms. Intel want us to purchase now. They're counting on our impatience.
  5. Wake me up when it's a real case and not just a few 3d renders thrown out with a press release :/
  6. I can't speak for WD Caviar Green, but I've had to RMA 5 of my own 2TB WD Caviar Black drives purchased within the past 3 years. HDD Sentinel and HD Tune are often bad metrics for HDD wear and can be sometimes a little overzealous. Your best bet is to simply test the drive with WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostics (DLGDIAG) and run the "Extended Test". It also would be wise to look up the SN on WD's support and determine when the warranty expires. That way if it does fail, you can easily acquire a free RMA replacement.
  7. Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB - The SKU is in the image... The exact drive isn't the concern. He's concerned about the drive wear vs the purchase price of $20.
  8. Dreaming! http://www.mwave.com.au/product/sku-ab49504-gigabyte_geforce_gtx_780_3gb_video_card $849.00
  9. Depends, do you like to have a stable system?
  10. Didn't allow me to specify, I assume this refers to posting your 'other' choice? Razer 3.5G DeathAdder.
  11. Sounds like he's running SandyBridge. :( Only SB-E supports Gen 3.0 albeit requiring a reg patch for Nvidia cards — AMD is just fine.
  12. That's just the latest installer for the CorsairLINK software. The firmware is made available separately (somewhere) in the Corsair Forum. I've already asked RAMGUY about this as there's no sticky thread for the H100i firmware and CorsairLink USB Dongle. The best solution is to delete your saved profile for CorsairLINK, completely uninstall it with Revo Uninstaller and then reinstall. If that fails, the LED has likely failed and it wouldn't be the first H100i to suffer this problem.
  13. Me too. They offer RGB in the 2013 Mamba. I'd buy the 2013 Deathadder in an instant if they offered the same RGB LED, though I do prefer the fully lit scroll wheel on the 3.5G. The 3.5G Deathadder also just feels better ergonomically than the Mamba. :(
  14. Don't be so sure. A fully uncompressed Blu-ray movie can be from 35-60GB in size. 4K content is coming which has been estimated to be 100GB in size. Please don't confuse any of this to be comparable with terrible, lossy, compressed x264 encodes at low bit-rates from sources like Netflix or iTunes. Also take note this includes DTS HD Master soundtracks. These tracks are not available in lossy streams. Until fibre is ubiquitous (world-wide), which is still another 15 years away from fruition (an extremely optimistic forecast), physical media for moves in particular is not going anywhere. Now take into account 8K content which will be coming in another 5 years.. This is what I foresee happening for movies and games. Considering the cost of a 32GB-64GB flash drive, the customisation that could be made to the physical device....it makes sense for games.
  15. Go outside and watch! Meteor showers are all but meteoroids travelling parallel to the Earth, simply disintegrating upon colliding with the atmosphere. Nothing but debris of dust! A meteorite bombardment on the other hand? That's when you shit bricks! But again, the solar system has been around for 4.6 billion years and there isn't enough large rock in large quantities left hanging around (unless you count the asteroid belt) to bombard the Earth.
  16. Looks like the Bibra Lake store.
  17. Tools > Options > General > Under "Startup", un-tick "Don't load tabs until selected". Firefox 13 and onwards introduced this as a memory saving feature by unloading in-active tabs from memory. It was mostly for start-up purposes but becomes annoying during extended browser use with many tabs. As FF doesn't utilise the same cpu process per tab as chrome, it becomes invariably slower. :(
  18. 4 * Hitachi 4TB Deskstar 7K4000 to add to my RAID5 array. I've had 8 of these (in the 3TB) variant in my QNAP 859+Pro for a few years and only one has ever failed. HitachiGST's RMA support is brilliant.
