  1. Hey guys, I built up a PC for my brothers girlfriend a few months ago and it had been working fine. One day she was just going through an email and the PC just turned itself off, no power outage, no sparks or sounds, just turned off and wouldn't turn back on since. The entire PC and everything is completely brand new. Things I have tried: I have checked all cables and connections I have taken the header for the PC switch off and shorted it and the PC and back fan spin up for around 3 seconds before stopping again. This happens pretty much each time I try to short the power switch. The PSU Does have an on and off switch, and yes it is in the on position. The case has an RGB strip which lights up as soon as the PC receives power and is turned on, so there is defiantly power going to the PC. Other then that the PC won't fully turn on or boot at all. . If anyone has any options I would love to hear them! PC Specs: ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 Phoenix LHR 12GB Intel Core i3 12100 Processor ASRock B660 Pro RS D4 Motherboard Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) 2400MHz CL16 DDR4 SilverStone SFX-L Platinum Modular 700W Power Supply Kingston NV1 M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB
  2. I am currently on CloudFlare
  3. Hey guys, I think I have a DNS Issue, but I am not completely sure. The issue I am having at the moment is in the attached screenshot. I have masked the top and bottom bars just for privacy, but the YouTube recommended and titles and stuff are grayed out, thats exactly as it looks like on my screen. The thing that makes me think it is some kind of DNS issue, is that a similar type of issue happens on my other computers on my home network. Also, from time to time on my main computer, I will be browsing regularly and I will click on a link then I will get a DNS error on google chrome all of a sudden and it will stay that way for a while and then fix itself after a random amount of time, from a few minutes to a few hours. Things I have tried include: I have tried two different modem routers, both have the same issues. I have restarted and factory reset both routers. I have changed the DNS on my computer via the IPV4 properties and also via the router settings. If anyone has any idea what is going on in the attached picture any help would be much appreciated. Thanks -Mike
  4. Hey guys. I have a TG789vac V2 router that I want to hook my HDD up to. I am running Kodi on another computer connected via WiFi in another room which I want to play videos in from the HDD that is hooked up to my router. The problem is, I tick the SAMBA enable box and the DLNA box and I am able to play the videos from the HDD fine, but I need to unplug it from the router and plug it into my computer if I ever need to add videos or anything on the HDD. Is there a way to move files onto and off the HDD while it is hooked up to the router? I have done a lot of searching and can not for the life of me get it to work. Apparently it should show up under "Network" and under the "computers" tab in Windows Explorer but it isn't there. I also have a D7000 Netgear Nighthawk which I have hooked the USB HDD up to as well, same thing though, Readyshare is not listed in the network anywhere. I am also running Windows 10 on both computers. [EDIT] Now that I have my D7000 hooked up, I am able to see KODIDRIVE listed under "Computers" on my network, but every time I double click it, it says "Windows cannot access //KODIDRIVE"
  5. I just done another test. My main Windows 10 computer, connected via Ethernet is unaffected. My two second PC's, one Windows 10, the other Windows 7, both give the DNS error when trying every single web page. The weird thing is, I started Minecraft and connected to a server while the disconnect occurred on the Windows 7 PC, and it stayed connected to the minecraft server, chat scrolling and all, but when I alt tabbed, it was giving the DNS error web pages. I haven't tested weather my Iphone 7 is affected yet. Do I just have to go into the TCP/IP settings on one of my secondary computers and change the DNS settings there? I have googles DNS settings on my router.
  6. I don't have any kind of splitters. The phone line comes straight from the wall into my Nighthawk, then an Ethernet from my Nighthawk to my main PC. I am not 100% but I am pretty sure there are no electric fences or pumps or anything of that nature close to my house. My router logs show that my WAN isn't disconnecting, the WAN light stays lit up on my router even while the disconnect occurs. I ran a ping test and constantly checked my main computer and secondary computer while the disconnect was happening and the secondary computer was the only one affected. I have changed the WiFi channel and it doesn't make a difference as it just cut out again. I haven't contacted my current ISP about the problem because it can't really be an ISP issue as it started happening with my previous ISP, that's why I changed in the first place. Should I call them and get them to run the stability test?
  7. I have a Nighthawk d7000 Modem Router. I just checked the firmware is up to date.
  8. I live in Australia and it is called NBN over here. It is Fibre Optical Cable but it is only connected to the NODE. From the NODE it is still just copper cable. I think it is called FTTN (Fibre To The Node). I Don't have an Alarm system or Medical service or anything of that nature. I do live in a pretty rural area, although its not completely in the middle of nowhere. No lights seem to go out on the router when the disconnect occurs either. My rouyter has both 5ghz and 2.4ghz. I will try connecting both and using various different channels and see if that helps.
  9. IPV6 is already disabled. I don't think I have ever had it enabled. Is there anything else that would cause a DNS error page to show up on a computer connected via WiFi but not on a computer that is connected via Ethernet?
  10. I am not sure how it can be a router issue as I have tried two different routers. I have had my DNS manually set to Googles for a few years now, I always use them.
  11. Hey guys, I have had this problem for quite a while now, so I will just start from the beginning. I was with "ISP A" for around a year or two with not any problems at all really. Then one day I noticed that my internet would drop out for around 5-7 minutes every hour. I called them up and they did something on their end, apparently, but that did nothing. The strange thing is that it was almost to the dot every hour, but some days the time would change. For example, it would drop out at 1:45pm, 2:45pm etc. then another day it would have been 1:23pm, 2:23pm etc. I had tried releasing, flushing and renewing my DNS, but that did nothing really. The amount of time it took to do that, I could have waited the 5-7 minutes it took to re connect itself. In the end I thought it was the ISP so I changed to "ISP B" who I am with now. I got a new modem router, as before I had the free modem "ISP A" supplied along with a WiFi router I Bought Seperatley. The new ISP along with the new modem router did nothing really as I am still getting constant and regular disconnects. The strange thing is though, only things connected via WiFi are affected. I done a test with two of my computers, my main one connected via Ethernet and my secondary connected via WiFi. I ran a YouTube video on both computers and on the secondary computer the YouTube video stopped buffering, while my main computer was fine. If i were to look up a page on my secondary computer, I would get the standard DNS issue webpage. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this issue as it is extremely annoying. Thanks -Mike
