  1. Hey everyone, I've been looking for an SSD upgrade so I can completely replace my mechanical drive and use my older SSD for bulk storage, the new 960 Evo has really caught my eye. I know it's an M.2. interface, which my board supports, but I'm having trouble finding out if my (relatively) older board will support the full speed and bandwidth of the 960. Anyone know for sure? 2. Getting 24c idle, ~47c gaming load on my 4790k @ 4.7Ghz 1.25v I'm using a Kraken x61 right now and love it
  3. I think some of you don't know what radiation really is..
  4. 100% a mounting problem, defective pump or similar. Are your radiator fans spinning at a decent RPM? CAM likes to keep those babies real low out of the box. Recommending delidding is very silly, please don't do that. Also, although your case's airflow could be a factor I'd say it's not the main problem as you're running a solid 25 - 30c hotter than you should be imo.
  5. Derp derp really not sure why I said IDE, guess I'm just not on my game today lol.
  6. So I was taking my Acer V3-572PG laptop apart to replace the hard drive because the stock one is painfully slow and when disconnecting the keyboard (edit: ribbon..why was I thinking IDE?) cable from the motherboard the connector literally came off without me putting any force into it what so ever. I've taken laptops apart several times before and I've never broken one of these things, really not sure how it happened. Can I just solder the connector back on the motherboard some how? Or can I just yolo it and tape the cable from the keyboard onto the motherboard (lol)? I tried the last method btw, didn't really work out as you may have guessed.
  7. They removed it because it sucked
  8. I really don't recommend 1080p at 27", the PPI is too low for me personally and I wasn't satisfied with mine at all. I'd either wait until you have a bigger budget and go 1440p, either a Korean monitor or something like the PB278Q when it's on sale.
  9. I say we get @linusforsell to give them the extra 2k
  10. Yeah, you have to admit the like to comment ratio is pretty laughable.
  11. Wow yeah that is a pretty good deal, nice find
  12. If you know for a fact it's statically charged, I wouldn't risk plugging it in if I were you but I'm pretty nervous about that kinda stuff. However if the only reason you think it might be charged is because you touched it with socks on and stuff, then chances are it's fine and I wouldn't really worry about it. HDDs are actually pretty protected against ESD.
  13. Yeah I'd get the x61, I switched from an H220 because the pump derped out and I couldn't be happier; the Kraken's a great cooler.
  14. Just thought I'd share this classic clip from a CSI 'hacking' scene again, I know it's already been around here several times but in my opinion it's freaking hilarious so here you go. Some of you might not get it which is fine, this just basically shows how Hollywood gives 0 shits about accurately depicting how technology actually works, and how they're perfectly fine just saying a bunch of random tech-related bullshit some guy on set came up with five minutes before shooting the scene.
  15. Airport Best Buy vending machines ftw I guess!
  16. Could possibly be defective, I just got one as well and it has lasted 5 days so far. Try resetting it to factory settings and uninstalling all the apps, if the battery lasts longer then maybe one of the apps is draining it.
