  1. Thank you all for your recommendations and for the information you've given. Having a separated server and a workstation for (occasional use) of DIALux software would be too much. My employer would use DIALux a few times a month. So making a separate workstation just for that would not be cost effective. The main purpose of the server is to run Windows server application GALA and Ubuntu server for our NextCloud, GIT, invoice and warehouse applications (They run on apache/php/mysql mostly). When or IF my employer decides to run DIALux on there, I want the system to be powerful enough to plug a GPU in and instantiate another (or current) Windows VM with DIALux running. This is what i had planed. I could have a server/workstation hooked up to a monitor from a GPU and she would use it like any other 'normal' PC. Server hardware unRAID OS (or other options) Windows VM [GALA] Ubunutu VM [NextCloud, GIT, invoice and warehouse applications] Room for expansion [Development VM, DIALux] So basically, i need a system for the first two points that can, if needed, include the third point.
  2. Basically yes. Windows VM would be accessed through Windows Remote Desktop. Only two users would be using the Windows VM (Boss (DIALux) and project manager(GALA))
  3. Hello! I am in need of a server configuration for my company for around $2000-3000 (with GPU) or more if needed It will be used for KVM Virtualization - 1 Windows and 1 Ubuntu server DIALux software for 3D modeling [Windows] GALA software [Windows] Web server [Ubuntu] NAS (NextCloud) [Ubuntu] Minimal requirements as I see would be CPU: 4C/8T RAM: 16 GB GPU: Quadro ili FirePro 3 SSD (120GB) one for Host (or usb) and two for Guests (We already have HDD) What components would you recommend for my needs? Furthermore, what software would you recommend for virtualization? unRAID Basic (6 devices would be adequate for now)? Crude kvm/qemu? Thank you!
  4. Sorry for steeling this topic but I am also looking for a 4k TV at that price range. I've narrowed it down to these models: SAMSUNG UE50KU6072 SAMSUNG UE49KU6402 LG 49UH664V LG 49UH6507 LG 49UH603V LG 49UF6857 They are all similar in price in the store in which i am looking to buy (http://www.ronis.hr/) I'm more lenient towards LG 49UH6507. One of the requirements is support for RS-232C protocol. LG has support over USB, but for SAMSUNG i couldn't find whether it does of does not have support over USB. Opinions? Better tv in mind for that price? Thank you in advance!
  5. What do you guys think of this build? It will be used for gaming, game development (Unity3D, Visual Studio IDE), WEB design as well as some general programing in various programing languages. Parts are to be bought in the European Union. 6700 vs 6600K overclocked? More threads would be useful for compiling large projects? Dell U2515H, it has that PPI sweet spot. Anything better for that price? or same for cheaper? 6. With the new Acer Predator Z35 (Ultra-wide, 1440p, 144Hz, ) coming soon, I was doing some daydreaming. As a person that does gaming as well as content creation, one screen just isn't enough. On the one side we have three 27 inch 1440p IPS G-Sync monitors (XB270HU), and on the other side we have two of those with the Z35 monster in the middle, although, I would be happy with Acer's XR341CK 75Hz. The main reason why I'm not into surround gaming is the bezel. Yes I know, there are monitors with thin bezel, but still... I would often look at the left/right 1/3 of the side monitor, respectively, and those bezels would get in the way. And for contend creation it would be great to stretch my timeline across the ultra-wide screen. Let's do some math: 4k = 8294400 px; 3x 1440p 27inch = 11059200 px; 2x 1440p 27inch + 1440p ultra-wide = 12326400 px; 5k = 14745600 px; So, it would not be much harder to drive than surround 1440p. What is your dream monitor setup? Would you consider ultra-wide + 2x 16:9 monitors? Or would you rather stick with 3 same monitors 1440p/ 1080p? Or is just one monitor enough for your needs?

  9. I7 4790K is 100 euros more than my budget. What would you suggest cutting down to fit my price range? EVGA's GTX 970 instead Gigabyte? That's 40 euros saved Regarding the case, Fractal Design Node 304 looks small enough to carry on a plane. I would have to get another MB. Gigabyte GA-Z87N-WiFi look good. Opinions?
  10. Hello guys. I'm in need of some advice. I'm a collage student from Croatia that will be going to Portugal for one semester (ERASMUS). And in that time I will be doing some hefty game developing using Unity3d, some CAD programs and, of course, gaming. What I have so far is: CPU - Intel Core i5 4690k - I plan to overclock it. Cooler - CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo - Is it adequate for overclocking? MB - Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 - Is it too much for this rig? I don't think I will be upgrading to two GPUs any time soon. RAM - 16GB G.Skill Aegis DDR3-1600 DIMM CL11 (2 x 8GB) GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Gaming G1 - also overclock. PSU - 550 Watt XFX Pro Core Non-Modular - Too much? SSD - Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB Total - 1.054,00 Euros The rest will be taken care of when I get home in the Fall. What do You think? Have any suggestions? Changes? And what case, test bench or some other form would you suggest for a temporary solution? I just need something that will hold the parts together for I few months. I don't want to buy a full case in Portugal 'cause it will be a drag carrying it all the way form Portugal to Croatia (3 stops from Croatia (Zagreb) to Portugal (Barcelos)). I will buy all the parts in the EU, preferably Portugal. I would greatly appreciate your advice.
