  1. Yeah it's not that big of an update to be honest. I hadn't considered an external battery because of the added impracticality, i would really prefer if the laptop came with a decent battery, one that could atleast hold for 4-5 hours of work (I'm a Software Engineer) DDR5 would just be a plus, some additional speed that i'll maybe use in the future not exactly in gaming but for work. Hmm you made me consider that "2 laptop" option, but ahh... I'd really prefer if it can be only one. I'm not looking forward to play or anything that heavy while running or battery, it would just be to be able to work seamlessly during power outages
  2. Hello guys! Hope everyone is doing great I need to buy a new powerful gaming laptop since my 1 and a half year old ROG STRIX G15 2021 screen stopped working properly Max-budget: 3K USD. I have been searching for a few weeks with no luck because every time I'm about to pull the trigger i find out something I don't like about the laptop, this time I'm being a lot pickier and avoiding ASUS since I HATE its armory crate software that breaks whenever an update is applied. If possible i want at least an RTX 3070, 16gb RAM, At least a Ryzen 5800H, preferably a 12th intel CPU that supports DDR5 RAM, but not super mandatory, I don't care much about storage but >=1Tb is appropriate. These are some of the laptops I've seen and also the reasons why i didn't buy them. Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16" > At the end I discarded this one since it only has a 50wh battery which is way too little for this kind of monster. This was my #1 pick since I really like legions and they have good reputation. (If i could get a legion this good with a better battery, it would be awesome) Razer blade 17 2022 -> This one is GREAT and also thin, but sadly the battery life seems to be on the crappier side aswell... Do you guys have anything to convince me? Please nothing with 11th gen intel hehe
  3. Hey there, thank you for your response again! I tried reseating the display cable again with no luck. Made sure it was firmly connected. I also tried jiggling the display cable (atleast as far as i can reach it before it enters the display) and nothing different was shown. It does not change either when the hinge/position is changed, nor when it is lightly tapped. I'm hesitant to pop off the back of the display. The BIOS looks the same, i find it pretty hard to believe it's a software issue at this point. I also checked if there were BIOS updates, and reinstalled graphics drivers, etc, no luck. Win + Ctrl + Shift + B only does what's expected
  4. Yes. It's the one pointed on these pictures. I reseated it yesterday, might try that one more time later today.
  5. So today as i was using my laptop with a TV connected through HDMI as 2nd screen and my laptop screen suddenly converted into what i show on the attached image. I own an ASUS ROG Strix G15 2021. This same thing happened yesterday but after a few seconds it fixed itself, now the screen is unusable but external monitors work fine. The laptop has a 144Hz screen, when switching from 144Hz to 60Hz the "used" fraction of the screen grows. There is only a small like on the top that's actually free of artifacts. The whole backlight seems to be working. Laptop hasnt been hit. Things i've tried: Power cycling, disconnecting the battery and pressing the power button, powering without battery, cleaning/reseating RAM and m.2 SSDs, DDU. I discarded software issues because i booted to another partition and even an USB. Any ideas?
  6. Sorry i forgot to mention, pc works fine using Intel integrated graphics.
  7. I do have another one but it doesn't have the 8pin connector for the CPU nor enough power connectors for the GPU. I opened my PSU, tested some components and everything seemed alrighty. Only dusty. After a few more tests using OCC now the pc doesn't manage to boot with the graphics card in. It barely shows the Windows loading bar but then the screen goes black and my mouse and keyboard lights turn off (pc components remain running tho). I had no way to discard the PSU as the issue but the screen showing red bars even at boot time makes the GPU the obvious guilty one here doesn't It?
  8. The only critical event is the "Kernel-power" event that says that i forced a shutdown, No overclocking, i just use it to set a better temperature vs fan speed curve. Ok! Will do in a few hours and will get back to you
  9. Hello there LTT forums family. Yesterday i was normally playing Overwatch on my PC when all of the sudden it displayed a pink screen with weird patterns and froze. Since that moment i have not been able to do any high demanding task on it without the same thing happening and me having to force shutdown/restart. Although it has not been the same pink screen with patterns, i think the color and textures depend on what it was displaying at the moment of the halt / crash / freezing. My PC specs: MSI Z87-G45 core i7 4770k with hyper 212 EVO ASUS R9 280x 8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 500GB Samsung SSD Thermaltake Smart SP-750 80 Plus Bronze (750W PSU) Windows 10 64 bits. MSI Afterburner (Had it for quite a while now without any issue) AMD Adrenalin 20.4.2 (or W/E it's called) Things i have already tried: Windows RAM test, no errors detected Uninstalled recent programs Roll back the graphics driver which was updated a few days ago (4+) Run different Software for testing such as a few found here: https://www.raymond.cc/blog/having-problems-with-video-card-stress-test-its-memory/ GpuMemTest gives no error OCCT Yesterday i tried separately CPU and GPU stress tests for a few minutes and nothing happened. Nevertheless when i tried the "power test" which stresses them both, the failure happened. One time the system failed even at the menu of this program. When i try to play Overwatch system crashes a few minutes past start. Temperature at time of failures are same as usual (Case has a few fans aswell) Scan the PC for malware Changed virtual memory size Any suggestions will be well received! Pictures of 2 of the crashes are down below
  10. Tried this, no success. GPU fans begin spinning, so does CPU fan, same led blinking. One thing tho, i think i barely hear the hard drive spinning, PC is too quiet. Maybe it is dead? but if it was dead, wouldn't the pc atleast show me the BIOS? or POST. I checked the hard drive connection and switched the SATA cable to one i knew was working and also switched the power cable for it. Makes no difference. (Audio of pc going on:) https://www.dropbox.com/s/7clntdcm4q5ibk5/Voz 016.m4a?dl=0 Oh also cleared CMOS after making the changes. I checked em all out many times already and no luck! Edit: Also, some times when i shut it down holding the power button for like 5 seconds, around 2 or 3 seconds it turns back on, this only happens some times.
  11. I dont believe any buzzer is connected, i connect my headphones to the audio jack and no i dont hear anything BUT, there is a difference: If i take out the RAM, the red LED of the front panel doesn't ever blink ( i believe this LED indicates actity), in this case the pc also reboots itself after around 10 seconds.. Now if i put atleast a ram stick in, the led blinks about one time per second aaalll the time. I've googled alot about this and... could it be related to the HDD?
  12. As additional information, this strange thing also happens: When the pc is turned off (but not disconnected) usb ports still have power because my mouse stays on, Meanwhile driver-requiring devices as special keyboards never turn on
  13. I didnt really disconnect anything when cleaning, nevertheless i checked every cable, also tried switching ram modules positions, no luck. Im sorry when i wrote "boop" i meant "beep", dont know why i wrote that but no, i hear no beeps. Yes i put the battery back in before turning it on, also my case (thermaltake msi commander) has a "clear cmos" buttom, tried with no luck. I have an asus r9 280x. Im using vga
  14. So today i decided to take the side panel off and carefully clean it with air and a little brush to take the dust out and when i connected everything again and turned it on, cool, it seemed like it was okay but i couldnt move the mouse so i turned it off I turned off the pc with the physical button and when i tried to turn it on again it began autorestarting, it turned on and a sec after it turned off. I removed the CMOS battery and tried again, now it stayed on, fans spin, lights come on, cpu fan spins, gpu fans spin but it only does that. It remains on black screen. I already tried removing ram, mobo doesnt beep! Disconnected hard drive & cd/dvd , it doesnt beep either. Disconnected some fans, doesnt work either. Now when i open the disc tray, it rapidly closes and when it does, the pc restarts. The red "load" led in the front panel remains blinking, about one time per second. Any suggestions?
  15. I'd like to get my hands on the blade 14 because... I always record my friends at college to make fun videos, nicely-edited videos but it's horrible to edit on my laptop (asus x54h) because it's dead old and it's dead shitty. So definetely would love to add that to my room. Also i'd prefer the blade 14 because i game as well, i wanna end freaking dark souls 3 already!
