  1. as i said i bought 7950x for 499$ basically at launch, x3D didn't exist for another half a year. And i had no idea how long it would take for AMD release that at the moment
  2. Hey guys, been using 7950x basically since launch, main reason of choice was good price, it was extremely discounted during Christmas + it had highest clocks out of all zen 4. I purely play warzone, had rtx 3080 and recently upgraded to 7900 xtx, however even though i tuned 6000mhz cl30 ram and undervolted cpu, turned off HT, because it improves frames, it still like 30% weaker in warzone compared to 7800x3D and in some other tittles where 3D vcache matters a lot. I can still sell 7950x and it won't be huge loss since 7800x3D got extremely cheapper aswell. Should i pull a trigger or should i wait for end of year for zen 5 ? Your thoughts, yeah i know it's not like 7950x is bad cpu, but it's really barely on par with intel 12th even with all that tuning
  3. Recentely my 3080 10gig died after 3 years of usage, don't want to support ngreedia anymore, so got 7900 xtx nitro plus and it's just insane overclocker, comparing to stock vanilla reference 7900 xtx it's like +19% faster basically at 4090 door's for half of the price 1V + 2950mhz core clock + 2750mhz memory clock + 15%powerlimit+
  4. So you think C3 is great option considering it's cheaper now? do you think it might get even cheaper when C4 launches? it's really hard to guess, since who knows LG might lower MSRP to be competitive. I am not in the rush since my room is under construction, still waiting for door and floor and radiators to arrive. I guess we shall see later. Do you have any issues with your C3 what would you recommend to configure for new user ?
  5. Hey guys, does it worth waiting for C4 maybe next month or should i get C3 ? never had Oled and last TV i bought was generic LG 65inch tv for 600$ 5 years ago with terrible viewing angles and all IPS panel issues like gray image, poor local dimming and ips glow, also it was hanged to high on the wall and never adjusted again. I gave away it to my parents and now it hanged correctly and they usually watch news, so its far better than anything they had before. So i am looking at LG C3 55inch, however google says that maybe on march or april C4 will be released. However i noticed that now C3 is kinda discounted it was 1799$ now it's 1299$ so basically 500$ off, whats the odds that C4 will be cheaper than C3 msrp ?
  6. Ur probably right, will wait just a bit, maybe untill salary check next week and then i will decide. Still want asrock taichi white edition of the card, but its nowhere to be found, if its not there nitro plus will do
  7. I did a mistake 3 years ago, my friends from pc part shop offered me rtx 3080 for 900eur during launch of 30 series and i declined offer waiting for better model, because they only had msi ventus which is cheapest crap possible and those had problems day one, but waiting did no good, mining craze happened and in 2021-01 i bought gigabyte gaming oc 3080 for 1240eur and later on price increased to 2000euros, so waiting did no good at that moment. Is it possible that history would repeat itself. Not sure.. But yeah no more ngreedia support
  8. But should i wait for a month to see if price will change at all. Because now 4080 super cost around the same to 7900 xtx and in some ways better value pick than amd. Still 7900 xtx will be my choice, but should i pull a trigger now ? or wait just a bit ? Waiting game is killing me, but regrets might come later on. It might not get cheaper or some random mining craze or ai craze will force to increase price.
  9. Didn't know that using gpu for atleast 3 years means swapping as frequent as changing underpants I wouldn't upgrade as frequent but, nvidia always forces it, always gimping older gpu's artificially blocking features and not supporting it in newer games, Before 3080 i had 1080 Ti ,and in cyberpunk 1080 Ti performed similarly to rtx 2060 and also 10 series doesn't support DLSS and FSR wasn't around at the moment to counter that,so hence my reasoning in upgrading,So back to 3080 story i only got partial refund for it since it's strange gigabyte policy that they are not obligated refunding money, but they only can either fix it or offer similarly performing card, they offered me 4070 which i declined, and got 700eur refund, however i paid 1200eur three years ago, so it's better than nothing and more than i would get in used market. I don't want 7800 xt because its also similarly performing card too my previous one and 4070 Ti depending on game is only about 15-20% faster at best than my previous card for atleast 300eur more if its nicer model. I wish i could wait however as i said my refund is in shops deposit, i have only option to get something else for same money or add extra and buy more powerful card if i don't want 4070 they offered me.
  10. Hello guys, been undecided for quite some time. My 3080 recently died and i was lucky enough that i got refund since no 3080 is produced anymore. Been using it for 3 years, and ive had 4090 last year in april while still having 3080. But 4090 was returned since it had faulty heatsink on suprim x model. However i decided not to buy 4090 again and kept 3080. Now 4090 is out of the question cheapest in my country is 2300eur. This is really bad value for card which aint that much faster than second best cards which are much much cheaper. I want to try 7900 xtx since ive always been ngreedias slave. However question is should i just take it now or wait ? Currently in my country cheapest one is asrock phantom gaming oc for 1040eur, however this is not model i want, i want white taichi card, but it's out of stock with no date when it comes and last price was 1130eur,or i could get black taichi card for 1080eur, and there is also nitro plus which seems to be best 7900 xtx after asrock aqua with extreme bios, but price is 1217eur, after 4080 super launch which cost around same money, AMD's cards havent moved down in price yet, few days ago nitro plus was 1250eur now it's 1217eur, but the thing is it might not drop for unknown time period time, because logic is simple supplier won't sell cards at loss, they will hold prices for as long as possible untill all is sold and only then they will get fresh batch cheaper. So hence the question should i just buy it for price it has now even though it's currently worse value compared to 4080 super, and i really not getting 4080 super because i am tired of nvidia. Which would be best decision? I have cheaply grabbed rtx 2080 seahawk last summer for 180eur as a backup card which serving me well now even though 8gb of vram causing to set textures to low in call of duty and similarly demanding vram games, So it's not as if i don't have anything. But my money is in deposit vault in that retail shop from 3080 refund so it's a must to buy something from them. For a contrast RTX 4070 TI cheapest is 862eur and cheapest 4070 ti super is 937eur here. What would be best steps in my position now ? money ain't problem, however spending money properly is.
  11. that the question is waiting would do anything, since 7900 xtx is already below msrp. RTX 4080 was already +200-300euros more expensive in EU than 7900xtx. However now nvidia is launching basically same card with different name with 200$ cut. I am wondering will it force to drop AMD prices even more
  12. Hey guys, what do you think, will 7900 xtx be cheaper after 4080 super launch ? 4080s will be coming to the same 999$ msrp, however amd card is for a long time already below MSRP. My 3080 is dead and gone, and i had all nvidia cards in the past and even tried 4090 for a month before returing it because of faulty heatsink, never bought 4090 again due to fear of burning connector. Also 4090 is now 2x more expensive. So 7900 xtx i my choice, time to stop supporting ngreedia. However i am not sure should i wait atleast week or two after 4080s launch to check pricing, or maybe get 7900 xtx on monday not waiting for nvidia. Which will be wiser ?
  13. Hey guys, right away sorry for a block of text u will see////// I AM planning to buy RX 7900 XTX next week, it's decided, as a long term Nvidia user which had them all, since i build pc's not only for myself but for selling too. I had fx 5200 128mb, gts 250,gts 450, 550ti, 770, gtx 1050, 1070 Ti, 1080 TI(as main user),gtx 1650,rtx 30601 2gb, RTX 3080(as main user and it died just know on third year of usage), had rtx 4090 suprim x last year in april, bought it for myself for my birthday, but it had faulty heatsink and i only used it for a month, and it never came back from RMA, because there was shortages of that model. Also used RTX 4060 Ti as backup from retail when i waited for rma answer for 4090. So i decided to not buy 4090 again, since even top tier models are faulty day one and alway fear of burning unreliable connector. My 3080 from gigabyte was dissasembled in first half of year because of overheating memory, i changed pads and temps dropped from 110c to 72c and stayed that way, however it didn't save it from artifacts. So In november i sent it because funny enough, since i informed gigabyte in the begining of owning 3080 that i will change pads myself, they agreed to take it for RMA, they took it and sent it back with conclusion "FIXED" , however it still artifacted, i sent it back and final offer is New 4070 because it performs similarly, or partial refund, Gigabyte has strange policy, if card dies in first year ur getting same card or 100% refund, if its second year ur getting 75% and if its third which was my case only half.... Very sad since i overpaid for 3080 a lot. paid like 1200euros(damn mining) So they only offering equal performing card or half of the price paid since gpu was used for a long time. I am taking money but i want RX 7900 XTX, don't want ngreedia anymore and i don't care about 4080 super definitely not getting that. Which model of rx 7900 xtx should i get ? since all models have great vrm quality, is there any flaws going with something like asrock phantom gaming ? it's 1049eur, or is it worth paying extra for something like sapphire nitro plus which cost here 1240eur. Is there any reason ? apart from looks and size ?
  14. Would definitely skip 3090 because it wasnt designed to last, overheating memory chips on both sides of the card will equal in dead artifacting card in near future. There is almost non 3090 on used market with gas in the tank. We can thank Nvidia for that. Would go for 4070 Ti super since 40 series fixed issue with poor thermal pads which 3080 and 3090 had.
  15. Hey guys do you have any experience with alienware older laptops ? we have old m17x r3 with i7 2670qm and dead GTX 580M which in the past already was changed and burned again after few years of usage. We are wondering what can we put in it, from little info i found it seems 880m is max and 980m won't work, my question is how should we search for correct 880m and do we need some kind of bios moding ? And is 880m possible at all ? Yeah we know its absolite and there little to nothing it can run, but it will be used for older games which it could run. Any help would be appreciated!
  16. i just had to see situation with cpu performance hence thats why i used 720p, rtx 2080 is almost twice weaker than my 3080 and since my 3080 is gone in rma and am not sure when it will arrive back or will it at all, i had to simulate high cpu usage and nothing changed, zen 4 can't catch up with x3D parts or tuned 13900k/14900k ir this game. I understand that everywhere else difference ain't massive, however i was really sad when i got a chance to test 4090 and expected to see 250fps+ and 7950x couldn't deliver that
  17. i will repeat myself i am not playing at 720p, however at my native 3440x1440 with RTX 3080 and later with 4090 i didn't see any higher fps, it defeated purpose of having 4090 since cpu is too weak for it in warzone 2 and i saw no gain in fps compared to 3080 in that game.... going to get rid of 7950x, its just too weak for high fps gaming
  18. Very odd statements from you, there is no issue, my tuning improved performance drastically and its the only reason why i spend weeks tuning and checking if my cpu is gold sample or not and its not sadly, for example in far cry 6 going from stock to undervolted and ram tuned using buildzoid timings, fps went from 165 to 190fps, same goes for warzone 2, without tuning i am getting 140-160fps, with tuning i am getting 160-180fps. I am confident in what i am doing, And always did, its not hard. And what i am getting is within performance people getting using 7700x/7600x during latest seasons in call of duty, it seems zen 4 is just not good enough for warzone 2 anymore and yeah we can blame game too, yet it doesn't solve why intel and x3D is so much better there. Frame chasers been saying it long time ago lol, no wonder he only builds intel systems with 8000mhz ram for his clients. His tuned intel systems are beating 7800x3D tuned system in call of duty too, also "AM dip" is real thing too.
  19. i am maybe not telling whats the problem. I mean i only now have backup 2080 with native its nots bottlenecked, i just wanted to see what can 7950x do and it seems it can't and is not even close to what x3D parts can do in call of duty. Since i am not seeing any new frames from 3080 i had for 3 years, nor i saw difference from 4090, call of duty might be utterly optimzed game, but facts are facts that game hates zen 4
  20. I daubt i lack knowledge since ive been building pcs for people and myself for 10years + with tuning learned from buildzoid and others, i even gave guidelines to techyescity(Bryan) considering x99 xeon tuning and i build and modded many chinese x99 boards and cpu's. I have all tools needed, and i spend weaks in finding correct stable values for undervolt 7950x and i did the same when i had zen 3, zen 2 and even zen 1. Considering cooling i am using arctic 420mm aio and my tuned 7950x gets 40k+ points in cinebench r23, Funny thing is that C state limiter in 7950x never got away, no matter what all cores won't be exceeding 5.5ghz, talked with asrock, they said they can't do anything because it's AMD agesa introduced limit, c state limit wasn't there in release bios it was introduced in agesa 1.0.0.2, cpu would be boosting up to 5.8ghz all core with release agesa, just sad that for some reason AMD decided to limit all zen 4 cpu's to maximum 5.5ghz, Anyway even that didn't help, i had 200-220fps with my combo in early wz2 launch it was fine and well within what my rtx 3080 could do, however my e5 2696v3 tuned could do 120-140fps at same time, not sure how it performce now, need to get wz2 install to that backup pc. However main thing is that after each season zen 4 performance drastically drops. And this thing caused me going crazy, while intel cpus perform way way better.
  21. i have 3440x1440 monitor, however since my 3080 is still at rma, i plugged backup 2080 and for fun set everything to lowest 720p + dlss ultra performance to see how bad is warzone 2 performance and yet 2080 is only used by 70% and fps is not higher than 150-170fps, while something like 7800x3D gets up to 300fps somehow ive seen more videos online people with 7700x and etc getting similar fps, but it only proofs, how inferior are not X3D parts
  22. I set wz2 to 720p and ultra performance dlss to just see whats the situation with cpu usage performance and i am only seeing 150-160fps with drops below it, and 2080 is only used at 70% thats why i am saying its bottlenecking and its same fps i saw with rtx 3080 and 4090 later on, when cod launched 7950x got 200fps+ and now its performing near my backup x99 xeon e5 2696v3 turbot boost moded 3.8ghz all core 18 core cpu. Either xeon is extremely good or zen 4 is bad When i bought 7950x , X3d CPUs wasn't launched yet and when they did, 7800x3D cost 520eur, while i paid 560eur for 7950x during christmass last year, now 7800x3D cost 380eur here. Interesting how much i would get for 7950x,nobody was selling any locally, no price to take example of, i did everything possible in tuning it undervolting and tuning ram, its just not even close to x3D parts in cod. I understand that overall, there are plenty of games where i won't be seeing such difference, however currently x3D parts are almost twice faster in cod somehow...in game i love to play If we take a look at older HUB video considering cpu performance in wz2, 7950x was barely slower than 13900k and somehow they got 240fps~ in theirs charts, very very strange how wz2 wasn't so demanding at launch. Even 5800x3D is faster than my 7950x in this game. Just why
  23. Hey guys, been using 7950x for a year now, got it because it was discounted a lot during holidays and was highest clocked zen 4 cpu. I had RTX 3080, then in april i got rtx 4090 which i had only for a month, i returned it to rma because of faulty heatsink from suprim x and got money back, decided not to buy it again. However conclusion was, that 7950x tuned with 6000mhz cl30 tuned ram was bottlenecking 4090 in games i play, i play mainly warzone 2 and fps wasn't higher compared to 3080 at competetive settings. Now my 3080 is at RMA because of artifacts and i am waiting for response. Got RTX 2080 for 180$ during summer as backup, currently plugged it and tried lowest settings and 7950x is bottlenecking rtx 2080 in wz2 its insane, how demanding call of duty becomes after each season becomes more and more demanding. I am really considering selling 7950x and maybe getting 7800x3D because somehow in cod even now it gets up to 300fps while 7950x can't exceed 160fps and rtx 2080 which is only used at 70%. Should i do it ? or should i wait for zen 5 and then upgrade ? Depending on what will be conclusion with RTX 3080, i will either keep it as is if it won't be fixed or if i get refund i will be buying 7900 xtx, however 7950x will be holding it back too. Give me your thoughts? why cod hates AMD cpus so much
  24. Since Xiaomi just launched K70 series, k60 series doensn't worth it anymore
  25. i would get 4090 again if only price was more sensible, i didn't want gigabyte waterforce because i don't really want or like AIO liquid coolers, just tons of unnecesery space will be used. As 3080 user now, i had no problem using FSR at higher resolution, i played Dying light 2 for 100fps+ and finished that game using FSR instead of DLSS, + with no raytracing. There is so issue in that game maybe, if i used raytracing or even just DLSS, in 30minutes of gameplay, gpu usage would start to drop from 99% to 90% than to 80% and it kept decreasing, i had to restart game every hour, while with just high settings and FSR usage stayed at 99% for 10h game seasion and image didn't seem to differ from DLSS much, 4080 is no go too expensive still goes for 1.3k+ and is already with bare minimum vram capacity. Its not bad card, however Nvidia is greedy bastard with that pricing.
