I think most people will repeat this. the r9 290x is an awesome card. It runs hot. it isn't as good as a 980, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper.
un;ess you need a 980, I wouldn't replace this card.

As much as I hate to say it, Keep the 290x.

Lol all joking aside, a 290x is still a great card...yes the 980 is better, but not $300 better. If it was a choice between buying the two i'd say 980, but not if you already have a 290x.

They have dicountinued Mantle, They are putting their recources into a new, Better one called Vulcan.

Sorry I guess this site was a late new breaker haha, I didnt see any posts on here SO I figured id check to see if people knew.

they wont let me stop the order of the SSD, so I may hold on to it for a day and mess around with it and just return what I dont need and take the retocking fee, another reason I picked up that PSU is I was hearing whining from the 750 like it was really stressed out, ill put it in the new one and if it is fine ill just keep that and if it died il just go pick up another one... Ik intel tends to be more energy efficient but this board and stuff has a lot of fancy stuff on it so I will see.
 
as for the keyboard I actually got the RGB lighting for a practical reason rather then just for looks, I color code profiles for games with tons of commands on the board, that, and I like this one without the num pad because I sit on a bed as my "desk" and it fits in my lap better.
 
honestly id get a cheaper board and use an orb weaver, I tried one out and its simply amazing, issue is, its 200 bucks! I have the tartarus (got it a year ago) but the keys are getting wore out since its cheaper and the orbweaver is mechanical @stconquest

Not always. Some games get a couple more FPS (literally), but some actually get less. It's all margin of error though.

I just looked up that controller and I don't think you going to be able to get that to work unless corsair updates the firmware to work with that controller being that the board has its own controllers in it that is more then likely conflicting with it that do very similar things. That port bootstraps a controller to what ever board you put in the slot and they are def conflicting, your best bet is
 
step one. play around with the keyboards bios swtich and download the manual for that board and look to see if anything in it may help you
and update the firmware for corsairs board via normal USB then switch it back and see if it works
 
two. email corsair regarding usb controllers on the ROG mobo or just any controller that bootstraps to the exsisting functions via mobo/usb. or call/email Asus as well. (being those are very manufacturer specific items)
 
and alternatively you can get another board... Logitechs RGB dont really have those chips in them other then memory chips for the G keys(macro keys) and RGB lighting and maintains the extra macro keys the k95 has.
 
Razers Blackwidow Chroma might work but that board I had a lot of issues with... like the anti ghosting didnt work and if had no palm rest and reset a lot... but the board is fully programmable so you might have the same issues with it. def has the best rgb lighting but Orion sparks is pretty close.

how is this,
same price (actually a tad lower), plus I gained back the money for the sound card since this mobo has its own highend (for pcs) audio solution,  and I will take back my 300 bucks worth of audio perfi and just go with a siberia v3... its good enough, or ill just get some bose that I can plug in my phone as well or something... basically I got my moneys worth and saved. ill test just one ssd and if its fine then ill ship back the other... I alway usually buy in pairs tho so if it fails in a year I dont have to shell out the cash, I just lose the data if its raid 0 and I usually always go over 500gigs somehow @Fate @SuperPug @stconquest and everyone else! I lowered the price a bit and got a better machine

two weeks ago I purchased an 8350 and built an AMD desktop
 
then I looked at newegg today to see a 8370..............................................wtf
 
so, you may ask why this bothers me when I basically have to same core, or say just overclock your 8350 too the 4.3...
 
mainly because its stupid to resell the same damn cpu for 30 more dollars and allow it to overclock itsself well within warranty
 
here amd here is 30 bucks... can you send me a new cpu if I fry my hardware overclocking it now?

Those vishera cpu´s are all the same realy.
In the base all FX-x3xx cpu´s are all FX8350´s.
 
Even the FX43xx and FX63xx are just FX8350´s with disabled modules.

Yep but when it was first integrated into Windows Phone they hadn't finished all the voice recordings yet so they had to use the generic voice for it. Still super excited for this being an avid Halo fan myself!

guys, yes the 970 out performs the 290 in a general sense but your splitting hairs, plus the 290 is going to have advantages over the 970 and visa a versa, and 290 also will allow you to run games with mantle (which more and more games will have with time), what it comes down too is do you want amd or nvidia, I have 2 machines with both and I can tell you I do most of my stuff on my amd oddly enough.... when I benchmarked my 290x not even overclocked I came in with only a little over a 500 point score lower then people running a titan http://www.3dmark.com/fs/4059180, so yes... the 970 out performs, but in a general sense, this will vary tho program to program, and the 970 will be out dated in 2 years as well lmao, because amd will update and then nvidia... the tag game will outdate both of these cards............. so buy either, the 290 price is quiet compelling, especially with when you upgrade later on it more money left in your pocket is another advantage.
