    Yeah sounds about right lol. I wasn't sure what the actual limit of the budget was, but if your only income is allowance, probably best to shoot for the 70D.

    This is what I did. I keep my aps-c body and 18-55 in the bag and picked up a 24-105 F4L to pair with the 6D. The 24-105 isn't the sharpest lens Canon has ever made, but damn is it a step up over kit lenses on a cropped bodies. Again, the AF system on the 6D is old. It's fast enough, but not a ton of points and no video autofocus. edit: looks like the 24-105 has gone up a bit in price since I bought mine (I think I paid $330), but they can be had for under $400 https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=ef+24-105mm+f%2F4l+is+usm&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1

    Yeah eBay is quite a gamble. I bought a 6D from there and it came with a scratched sensor. I would highly recommend used photo retailers like UsedPhotoPro (used arm of Roberts Camera) and MPB. I would avoid KEH as they don't really show you what you're buying, but the other two are good. They tend to have more selection and lower prices than the used sections at B&H and Adorama. I think if you guys can make one of these two work, it would be a good choice. Do you only have EF-S glass?

    iirc, the 70D is a pretty big step up over the 80D, especially in terms of video performance, and the 7D was supposed to be like a pro body with an APS-C sensor. I never really understood the 7D, but it had one of the fastest shutters in canon's line up besides the 1DX. The 7D also is supposed to have some very good weather sealing which is nice to have. Looking at the product page, the 7D has more AF points than the 80D, but the 80D captures 4 more MP (if that matters to you). I rely pretty heavily on AF, so I'd probably chose the 7D II between the two, but budget is the ultimate decider. I'm curious as to why you're not also considering the 6D. It's pretty affordable and offers some pretty good performance. AF system leaves some things to be desired though, I believe it might be the same system as my T5.

    Valid, I'm still not sure how underqualified I am. Plus, my career is trending towards aerospace given recent projects at my lab at my university, and the internship offer I just received on Monday. That said, product design on a small team like Valve is kinda my dream. I think I'll apply over the weekend. Worst they say is no right?

    Are they actually building any hardware? Didn't the Steam controller get canceled? I suppose there's the Index, but I haven't heard much about that in a while.

    It looks like they want a degree (or equivalent experience which I think I just about have), but I'm finishing my junior year of my degree. If I got it, idk how that would work because I want to finish the degree, but I'd want to start working immediately.

    While I think Lexus trends very close to overstyled, this is an unpopular opinion. I think we can all agree the new M3 and 4 are better than this fuckin thing

      Nothing about the iX looks correct. Its windows are somehow too large and too small. The front end isn't attractive. The rear end is even worse. The doors look fucking odd. Its general body style is not great.

    Looking around a bit more on ebay, I think there's a new mining craze. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a GTX 1070 FE go for $300 on r/hardwareswap.

    Is it just me or are the videos from LMG a little soft lately? Maybe they haven't gotten used to the new Blackmagic cameras, but the video looks a little softer and under contrasted to me. It just doesn't look as sharp as the old RED footage.

    update: CPU reseat seems to have made it worse. Now it post loops harder and has a harder time getting out of loops. it also hangs on post code 32 sometimes, but I did manage to get it into windows and am trying to do a reset. My long term goal for this computer is to set it up as a perfect media server because it seems to be the closest thing to unraid without paying for unraid. I would just dump this windows install and go straight to linux, but I haven't been able to actually catch the post screen before it boots into windows. Not sure if I'm forgetting which is the BIOS key, or what, but it either post loops or boots into windows with seemingly no post. This could just be a power savings setting on my monitor, but i'm also not convinced it's not windows. Hopefully I'll have more updates tomorrow.

    update: it appears the error is more complicated than that. I tried to turn it on this morning and I watched the post codes loop with all 4 sticks installed. It appears after adding or removing a memory module it will post fine, until you try to restart. Then it starts looping again until you change something about the memory configuration. I don't have it plugged into a monitor right now (and I probably wont have time until tomorrow) but this is very weird and I was really looking forward to finally having a NAS.
