What should it be? I'm trying to figure out how to lower it. I would do that in BIOS, correct? Also is it high for a non-overclocked Ryzen 9 5900x?

My BIOS says my CPU is running at 1.46 volts which seems high especially since it isn't overclocked. The power settings I saw looked normal.

Dark rock 4. It's weird... It was running at I think 66C more or less. My old CPU ran at those exact temps with a similar cooler. After I reinstalled Windows on Wednesday My monitoring software said it was running at 88C. Some of my other programs say the same thing. I'm not 100% sure the temperature is legitimate. I noticed it like 2 minutes after I started gaming so if it was getting that hot before I reinstalled Windows, I probably would have noticed.

So I have a Ryzen 9 5900x and I have been some cooling issue and have yet to figure out how to fix it. It runs at 88C when playing Cyberpunk 2077. Assuming I game and have my CPU running at 88C on average 3 hours a day can my CPU still last 6 years? That's how long I am planning on keeping it. AMD says it can run up to 95C and I've heard conflicting answers about a maximum safe temperature.

So in some games like Cyberpunk 2077 my CPU runs at around 88C with the CPU only around 25% utilized. In some of my other games the CPU runs a bit less like 79C-85C. My idle temps are around 60C-65C. In the BIOS my CPU gets up to around 52C after 30 minutes or so. I have reseated my CPU cooler. I was careful to put on thermal paste, made sure that the plastic piece was taken off the cooler, I also made sure that the fan was spinning properly and it was. My temps only went down by 2-3 degrees or so. The odd thing is that I reinstalled Windows 10 about 3 days ago (see post history for the long story... yes, I solved that issue BTW.) I then got Riva Tuner installed and noticed that my CPU temp in Cyberpunk was 91C!!! As far as I know, I did not get these temperatures before I reinstalled Windows, at least I don't think I did because I noticed my high CPU temps like 2 minutes after I booted up the game. I think my temps used to be somewhere in the 60s. Any ideas? Could a Windows update have messed with my machine? Edit: I just noticed that second after I booted up my PC, in hardware monitor it said that my CPU temperature spiked to 76C when in the BIOS it only got up to 50C. Also my PC doesn't get that loud on gaming... but I'll double check on that. Also in my BIOS, I set my fans to run at 100% all the time with maybe 1-2C max difference in temp. Edit 2: Is 79C-85C safe? Not looking to destroy my CPU.

No but I tried using my TV instead which is HDMI instead of display port. Same error. Yea... my next step might be to reinstall Windows.

Yes, without Vsync I get well over 60 fps. Windows 10 reports that I get 59.997hz. My other monitor which is a 4k tv says exactly 60 hertz. I ran the game on said tv and got the exact same issue. Edit: Can't see a single settings on my PC no set to 60hz.

Right, I tried setting it 60+ and it still won't go above 58 with v-sync on. I tried a driver from October 2020 and no difference.

I tried both Rivatuner and the FPS counter in Geforce Experience and they both said the same. I also know that I am supposed to be getting more FPS than this as my CPU and GPU usage are both low, still doesn't hit 60 even when looking up at the sky. Also I'm not sure that it was designed to work this way. Every time I've turned on Vsync ever it has always kept me at a solid 60 FPS.

Specs: Ryzen 9 5900x, 16 gb ddr4, MSI tomahawk, 2080 ti. Windows 10 20H2 19042.804 Whenever I enable v-sync on my computer (60hz monitor), My FPS is stuck at 58. Sometimes it will go back up to 60 for a split second but it more or less stays at 58. I just noticed it today, I haven't gamed in about a week. I can't disable it or I will get a large amount of screen tearing. Capping my FPS at 60 without v-sync does very little for said screen tearing. This is the first time I have experienced this issue and it has happened in every game I tried. I tried enabling V-sync both in Nvidia control panel and in games (one at a time though), this made no difference I tried enabling triple buffering, this did nothing Tried the adaptive and fast options in Nvidia control panel v-sync options, did not work Windows 10 is up to date Updating then reinstalling drivers did nothing Disabling full screen optimizations (tried in one game) did not work Turned on hardware accelerated GPU setting, did not work Turning off game mode didn't work either I've tried everything I can think of. My Dell latitude 7300 won't play audio from the headphone jack. When I go into the sound settings through control panel and apply speakers/headphones, the sound still goes out of the laptop speakers even with headphones plugged in. I have tried several different headphones. I also restarted and used Support Assist to install Drivers. When using support assist my issue was fixed briefly, but I unplugged my headphones and tried to use them later and the same issue persisted. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

LOL I use sooo much storage. My SSD is my primary where as my HDD is my secondary.

I've seen plenty of game benchmarks where it delivers a very good performance increase. I am seriously considering against it though.

So in Watch Dogs Legion, it performed well during the first part of the game. When I went onto the streets, my FPS would hover around 40-45 FPS no matter how low I turned the settings. The weird thing is my CPU usage is completely normal but my GPU is pegged at around 65% usage. I don't seem to have this issue in any other games, although Far Cry 5 dips a bit but never below 60. Some of my other games such as Assassins' Creed Origin and Ghost Recon Breakpoint bottleneck my CPU but the CPU usage is actually extremely high. My specs are as follows: i7 4790 3.6 MHZ, 2080 ti, 16 gb ddr3 1600 MHZ.
