  1. Currently trying to set up an ancient iPad 1 (iOS 5.1.1) with my iCloud account so I can sync notes between it and other devices, however I can't seem to get this to work. Is it just incompatible due to age? I don't see notes from my other devices on it, or new notes from this ipad on any other devices.
  2. Yeah I haven't found any that still have versions cached supporting iOS 5. I wish there was some browser that existed to let legacy devices chug through rendering modern websites, even if it took forever.
  3. Hi all, I have this dinosaur relic of a 32 gig iPad 1 lying around, and am trying to avoid resigning it to paperweight duty. Problem is, basically all apps worth their salt don't support iOS 5 any more, and many websites don't load properly in the native version of Safari or in ye olde version of the Google Search app I have on the device. Are there ways for me to try to either update the device past iOS 5, or do you know of any browser I could use that will load more websites properly.
  4. As a guy who tried to hide dropping his phone in the water from his strict parents *cough* years ago, can confirm the best method is to own up to it. My phone also worked fine for a while afterwards, but eventually it kicked the can, and they found out. Wasn't fun.... Recommend telling them, but if you won't then for trying to straighten it I would do that by pressing it on a flat surface, not bending it in your hands because the flat surface will ensure you don't go too far or apply too much uneven pressure. Also, Biohazard above had it right, avoid sleeping with the phone in your bed, nightstand is as close as it should get.
  5. Yeah I started charge managing the battery in my phone a few years ago when I saw the LTT video about it, but as you mentioned it didn't really make sense to start it on the laptop then.
  6. Hi all, As you probably guessed by the title, I own a mid-2014 13" rMBP. I'd prefer not to spend the money on a new laptop at this point, and seeing as it is not my primary computer for intensive tasks ie video editing I'm ok with the performance. The battery is not doing so well though. It has the "Service Recommended" tag, and 1445 charge cycles under its belt. I know the batteries are only guaranteed for 1000, but I'm wondering if anybody knows around what cyclage they start actually dying at. Additionally, I'm planning on using the iFixit replacement kit to do the repair, does anybody have experience with it? TL;DR How many cycles do the batteries typically start dying at in these devices? Is the iFixit kit recommended for this repair? Thanks!
  7. I'm currently running version 7.4.4 of the desktop client which says it's from 2014, does anybody know if there is a different version that i should be using? This one seems to work just fine.
  8. I'm unfamiliar with Advanced Control via the app, how do you access that? Edit: nevermind found it, apparently the shortcut for F@h on my desktop was not to the controller, it was to "hide console" which is another application in the F@h folder
  9. Hey all, just a quick post here. I just ran into an issue where the FAH web client was constantly refreshing and flashing the screen every second or two in chrome 83, and the way I found to fix it was to disable my ad-block. Not sure why that helped, but it did. Hopefully that helps somebody!
  10. Thanks! It's not sleep that's the problem for me its that my eyes are just getting so fatigued I'm noticing an actual decrease in my clarity of vision lol. i'll lower to the color temperature and the brightness though that's good to know.
  11. I have f.lux and nightshift on my devices, but I read that the software blue light filters like those are not as effective as physical filters like lenses.
  12. Hi All, Since college has moved online and all my work and homework (and entertainment) is now done on a screen, I'm noticing a clear increase in eye strain. Accordingly, I'm looking to get some blue light filter glasses. I want to support LTT, and I remember that LTT was sponsored by a blue light filtering glasses company some time ago. Can anybody tell me what company that was, and what the code was? Or if there's somewhere I can find a list of the sponsor links? If my memory is wrong, can somebody recommend a favorite blue light filtering glasses company? Thanks Michael
  13. Nope... I actually don’t even have a camera roll folder, and my iCloud photo backup is turned off so I should have one.
  14. I saved the photos just like I do on my phone, pressing and holding on the photo in the messages app and then hitting save when it comes up as an option.
