  3. Hi, I really need help, I have been putting up with this soft sounding Skype issue for the past few months. Everytime I would want to use skype, I have to turn on my Virtual Machines and use the skype in there. So it wouldn't be my microphone. My friends can hear me well if I use my virtual machine's skype. However on my Host OS I sound really soft to nothing. I tried to turn on Microphone Boost to 30.0dB but still its really the same. It is really annoying to always turn on the VM to use skype. I also went to listen to my own device and it sounded loud and clear. Also, I turned on another voice communication software and it sounded alright. I think the problem is only with Skype with my Windows 8.1? The skype I was using in my VM was Linus Ubuntu so I really do not know what is wrong. Can't figure out why too. Would gladly appreciate any response and help! Thanks!
  4. Oh thanks because I thought I read somewhere that it will only be able to run 1080i/720p at 60Hz or 1080p at 24
  5. Hi, I have been thinking about this for the whole day and I just want to double check before I buy an external monitor that is on sale for my laptop. I am using a laptop that has only HDMI,Mini DisplayPort and VGA. I went to search online and it says that this HDMI port is 1.4? I do not know if it is 1.4 or 1.4b... But I want to buy the Dell S2340L that is on sale for my laptop and it has a 60Hz refresh rate. But I do not know if I can make use of that 60Hz refresh rate. Will the HDMI be able to give me 1080p at 60Hz? Or do I need any extra things, if it can be achieved I will buy the monitor today as there is limited stock left. Thanks!
  6. yes, is there anyone who has done this before, i need some advice
  7. Is there anyone who has an assurance or have tried these out before, im pretty scared that it fails for that expensive amount...
  8. Hi, I need some help over here. I've done a few hours of research but to no avail. So I want the ASUS VG248QE monitor to have an extended display to my LAPTOP. But my laptop only has a HDMI 1.4a, VGA and a mini display port. The main goal is to run at 144Hz on the monitor, and I know FPS wouldn't be a problem. I just want to know since my video outputs does not include dual link DVI, I cannot get 144Hz? Is dual link DVI the only solution to 144Hz? Can a display port run 144Hz too? Can I use a mini display port to display port to run 144Hz? Or will the bandwidth get cut off somehow. Or must I pay an even expensive amount for a mini display port to dual link DVI? If I can use a mdp to dp, which adapter is recommended? Is there any other solutions to running 144Hz on an external monitor with a laptop with only the above 3 video ports? I hope there is a solution! Thanks in advance!
