  1. If you need Gsync, ultrawide and over 60hz for sure! But you can't compare the screen quality. I had the x34, z35p and acer biggest one XR382CQK. The iMac screen is sooooo much better even if scaled down to 1440p in games, but as said only 27", 60hz and 16:9. No features, just screen quality.
  2. Well, I'm using the new 2017 5k iMac with i5 and radeon pro 580. I'm just a casual gamer, but I know what I would get with a high end gaming pc. My last one was i7 7700k and 1080ti. I just could not give up the 5k screen and whats more important, MacOS. If this matters to you, you have no alternatives. For gaming I bought an external USB 3.1 SSD (Samsung t3), installed Windows 10 and there we go. I can play anything on high and ultra with a resolution of 1440p, the 5k screen scales superb with 1440p. Temperature in AAA games are around 85°C on CPU and GPU. Fan is not audible on desktop use, in games you can clearly hear the air (wushhh) but nothing like a low quality fan noise. So much less cables!
  3. This is a dimastech benchtable. The bendable arm can be bought from Dimastech as well.
  4. atm only 60hz max on 4k
  5. picked up two of them last weak. manufacture date of both is january 2016. both are perfect, no dead pixels, no blb, no glow. had the older 144hz from asus aswell as the new one with 165. cant compare asus to acer, acer is waaaayyy better in display quality. the little bit glow or blb I maybe can see seems to be silver and not yellow
  6. Why the old one? New model: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/ttnG3C/acer-monitor-xb271hubmiprz
  7. Using a second monitor for web browsing while gaming. For monitoring I use this little guy: http://www.ebay.de/itm/LCDsysinfo-for-GOverlay-USB-2-8-TFT-LCD-Module-gamer-gadget-FPS-Hype-Smartie-/121106592717 totally customizable in what it can display
  8. This is just one 43" screen with splitscreen technology. Same as the 40" before just bigger and with IPS. Gonna switch from my 40" Philips to the Dell one, because it has matte surface.
  9. I bought the Philips one because it's VA. Could not stand IPS glow with such a big screen. With VA I have real deep blacks which is great for games and movies. As I am always in front of the screen I dont care about the better viewing angles of IPS. And colors, well they are great on the philips and even better after some finetuning with help of tftcentral. Unfortunately I cant say anything about the brand Wasabi Mango. The PPI for me looks the same as on my old 21:9 with 3440x1440, which is perfectly fine without scaling. Bigger icons would look odd. But its just me, could be different for you.
  10. It's just a big screen wall, you don't have to use anything at fullscreen if you can't sit far away enough. For me the big screen is full of benefits. Its nice to dont be limited by the screen frame in my field of view.
  11. I tried 34" 21:9, 2x 27", 2x 4k 32" and 4k 40". Love the screen screen real estate of 4k 40". Can't go smaller anymore. After having some time with 40" I tried it with one single 32", way too small. I play all my games in a ~30" window and love it to be still on the desktop and not to have to tab out. Two screens just gave me to much trouble with fullscreen on one and something alse on the other, no fun at all.. youtube and movies are godlike, so nice to lean back and have a big screen. The scaling is perfekt, you can just stay at default 100%. Dell is going to relase one 43" soon, maybe I will look into it. https://pcmonitors.info/dell/dell-p4317q-multi-client-4k-uhd-monitor/ I have the Philips one. https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/philips-bdm4065uc/ Some pics:
