  1. I turned off DHCP the first time.. And this time is when I reset it.
  2. I bought it new a while ago... it did this the first time I had to set it up, eventually (after days of work) i got it working, but I can't get into it again. Tried getting in with and without resetting it
  3. I have a D-link DGS-1100-08 Managed switch.. and I need to connect to it. I have tried everything. Neither the webpage nor the SmartConsole will work. I have set windows's and or the router's IP to 10.90.90.1.. still nothing. Any help would be incredibly appreciated!
  4. Wow! Thank you, but I'm not going that hardcore just yet!
  5. So the couple millimeters of metal in it shouldn't make a difference?
  6. Yes, Yes, So much explanation and yes. You are completely right. Apparently CCA is also illegal for domestic use in the US (See here)
  7. So my new shopping list is this, does it look fairly good? Cable: http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=14766 1 to 3 packs of connectors: http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=7267 Crimper, although if anybody knows of a better one lemme know: https://amzn.com/B0000AZK4G 'Boot': https://amzn.com/B00W16AIMG And possibly a tester, although I could just try using the cable and see if it works: https://amzn.com/B009ZXYI1U
  8. It's gonna be for indoor random cable runs, with lots of movement. By solid do you mean not stranded or pure? Wow, why?
  9. Also since I'v gotta find a new cable now.. Stranded or solid?
  10. 0.0 Oh wow, thanks! Ooh, I just checked and they already have way more, better options, thanks!
  11. From what I'v found cat5 actually really only does 100mb, and cat6 is a bit more reliable than cat5e. But if you have an account here you probably don't just go 'good enough' Also trying to keep the network somewhat future-resistant and reliable
  12. Is there any difficulty putting cat6 cables in cat5 connectors, or the other way around, due to the different sizing?
