  1. Well that is one good point... I didn't consider selling my current parts to be honest. I would say if it was near free I wouldn't say no but even in terms of performance upgrade it's not a huge difference. But to be fair they can't keep making huge upgrades forever I guess. I think I would upgrade if it was cheap though, partially because of the RGB motherboards because its impossible to find an razer green motherboard! I wouldn't want to sacrifice anything from my current rig though, I'd prefer to get the Z170 equivalents of my motherboard, RAM etc. I'd need to upgrade PSU as well, as my 650W would die with an OC 6700K + OC GTX 980... I'm gonna wait it out personally and see how it goes, if Z170 CPUs take over the market then I'll swap. But not yet anyway.
  2. Yeah most people think the same. Yeah you're right it was pretty surprising because it's a lot more than others.
  3. Yeah that's a fair point... Over games in general and other tasks I just don't think it's good enough. It's still better and that's made obvious in the videos, but I just don't think it's enough of an increase in general for me anyway. But it's certainly better.
  4. Haha. Unfortunately I don't have that money to spare either .
  5. I don't think you realized but I did say in the original post "I decided not to because I didn't think that the very minor performance increase justified the £500+ cost." I agree that it's a massive waste of money. I just wanted to see what other people thought,
  6. Yeah, I mean there's no denying that it's slightly better. But I just don't think the price to swap is justified. I think most people would agree as well.
  7. I absolutely agree with you. Was just wondering what others thought.
  8. I run an I7-4790K in my current rig and considered "upgrading" to the 6700K, but I decided not to because I didn't think that the very minor performance increase justified the £500+ cost. I may be completely wrong and there might be a good reason to upgrade but i personally don't see the point. What do you think? Is it worth it? Is it even any better? Have a great day!
  9. Yeah I just wasn't pushing it enough. I just gave it a go and it went... Okay. I'll need to do some sanding but it's good enough.
  10. I am planning on cutting my Corsair 760T Top panel so that I can keep the panel on and not block airflow. I have a Dremel 3000 and I'm not sure how I should go about cutting the panel. Will I need a different drill bit?
  11. It is pathetic that these companies get away with saying that the sticker is "damaged". That sticker is clearly visible and has no damage to it. From what I can see the screw has done nothing to that sticker whatsoever. Palit service is a joke.
  12. Well in Britain I'd go to Citizens advice or Trading Standards. I'm not sure if Portugal have a similar thing or what it is called. But I would try to get some kind of legal advice. I have a Palit GPU and they definitely do not seem to be willing to help with anything.
  13. Another option is maybe vinyl wrap? I'm not sure about the temperature aspect of that but I was going to paint the shroud of my GPU and was told that Vinyl would be a good option. Might be worth looking into.
  14. I think it would be fine to be honest. That's the advantage of Plasti-Dip, you can remove it for RMA. It would be easier to buy a custom backplate but painting it should work fine too. It's been done before so I don't see why not.
