  1. I personally would recommend Ubuntu MATE or Kubuntu (maybe Ubuntu Unity if that ever becomes an official flavor), instead of Xubuntu mainly because my top 3 desktop environments are Plasma, Unity & Cinnamon/MATE.
  2. My problem with the new Edge is that its another Chromium browser. Kinda wish they used Firefox instead.

Intel secures more AMD staff, ex-Radeon marketing lead

They better make their new GPUs awesome. Otherwise, it'd be a waste. And if it is awesome, as a Linux user, even less reason to buy NVIDIA

    No Wifi on Ubuntu 18.10

    should i switch to linux?

Here's are couple of questions for you: Did you do your research on Linux (i.e. software you'll be using, and alternatives that are available on Windows/Mac only (i.e. LibreOffice))? Are you prepared to learn Linux? Switching to another platform will always have a learning curve. I suggest starting off with an Ubuntu-based distro, like Kubuntu, Ubuntu MATE or Linux Mint. My father recently switched to Ubuntu, and he's fine so far (he's technologically inept, IMO).
  6. I first used Linux back in 1st half of my high school career with Ubuntu 12.04/12.10 when my parents got a new PC, and I use the old PC (they locked my brother and I out (parental paranoia)) and I used the PC we got back in '07 (which ran Win XP) as my own. I heard of Ubuntu from a classmate and decided to nuke it completely and install it. I stopped, however, when I got my own laptop. I didn't want to install it at the time & split the partition. Also, I play some games on it. I went back to Ubuntu again on that laptop after I built my gaming PC in '16, switching to Kubuntu few months after when Canonical cancelled Unity project. It was around that time that I'm much more comfortable using Linux. Around last year, I switched to Linux full time when I switched my gaming desktop to Kubuntu & am no longer using Windows 10. However, I might need to install it on another drive just so that I can play Halo (probably the only game, along with Mass Effect (if none worked on Linux) I'd reinstall Windows for).

Xbox Live will come to Switch, iOS & Android

You do remember that the former Xbox head was ousted because of that? Think of the mobile market. Most apps nowadays can run on both iOS & Android. The only major difference between the 2 are the license of their OS and the type of hardware they support + how configurable Android is. And if most of those popular software aren't on a new mobile OS, And you can also use that same argument on the PC & servers, although I do see your point on the flip-side because there isn't much a console can do to compete against each other other than the exclusives and their services What I meant is offering stuff like their achievements, a service that competes against Google's own Google Play Games & iOS Game Center. Maybe even go as far as having a game store, like the upcoming Epic Games Store on Android. Though I have a feeling they won't do the latter. Yes, I know that Switch isn't as good as PS4 or Xbox One, but there are other games it can play that can potentially cross-play, such as fighting games & racing games.

True, but I also included Fortnite. Then I just remembered there's also PUBG

Xbox Live will come to Switch, iOS & Android

Not sure about the details yet, as they will have an event in GDC 2019 about it but I don't think Xbox-exclusive games will be brought to other platforms (might've misunderstood your question). The SDK that they'll be presenting is only for integrating Xbox Live SDK in games so that game devs can enable cross-play much easier, and making their achievements, social stuff, etc. available everywhere.

Microsoft isn't going to win the console wars this generation, so they're gonna try dominating the gaming market from a different angle. --------------------------- Is it possible to delete this comment? I merged this with the one from above because I thought comments can be deleted

As in mobile games use PSN? Which ones? Microsoft isn't going to win the console wars this generation, so they're gonna try dominating the gaming market from a different angle. You don't have to care, but this could potentially increase competition in the gaming market, especially consoles & mobile. Those 2 platforms don't usually have competing services, where iOS has Game Center, Android has Google Play Games, Xbox with Xbox Live, PlayStation with PSN, etc. And like I said in my post, we might even see Steam show up on platforms outside of the PC.
  13. Sources: GameSpot While Microsoft lost in terms of hardware sales, they might just win in terms of services. I hope this move will be a success because Xbox Live & PSN shouldn't have to be restricted to their hardware platform anymore. I do wonder if there'll be fees involved to play online, but if I remember correctly, you don't have to pay to play Xbox Live games on Windows 10. And correct me if I'm wrong but no platform, other than Epic with Fortnite, is doing cross-platform service, right? This may be unlikely, but I hope this also comes to Linux. And I do wonder if Steam will ever come to Xbox, Switch & mobile. That would be fun to see, especially since Steam supports Linux, and are working hard on making Linux a relevant gaming platform. I just remembered that Microsoft is doing Project xCloud.
  14. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any.
  15. I tried it in a VM, and I couldn't really get into it. It doesn't work with my workflow. elementaryOS is a distro that pretty much wants you to do it their way or the highway. I choose the highway with Kubuntu. However, their app store's "pay what you want" model is something I'd like to see Ubuntu and other distros adopt.
