  1. Unless I'm wrong, I think setting up multiple Wine prefixes would be able to solve your problem.
  2. Kubuntu for me. As much as I'm enjoying KDE Neon Testing Edition on my gaming desktop, Kubuntu has saner defaults. Only reason why I switched to Neon on my desktop because of the newer Qt that Neon's using as opposed to Kubuntu. Kubuntu was on Qt 5.12 until 20.10 vs Neon, which was on Qt 5.14 since 18.04. I needed the newer Qt because that worked better with NVIDIA GPUs, and fixed the sleep issue that causes the desktop to look weird when waking up.
  3. The long-term support Apple provides is the reason why I recommend iPhones to my friends and family, unless they explicitly want Android. My parents are on iPhones for that very reason. I, personally, carry 2 phones (Xperia XZ1 Compact & iPhone 6S) with my iPhone the one I use whenever I create an account by taking advantage of their email relay.
  4. I was gonna sign up for Privacy.com, but it's limited to US residents. Is there an alternative Canadians can use?
  5. Thankfully, the towers are mATX, according to my research. Seems that my biggest issue would be the front panel headers
  6. Budget (including currency): < $200 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: browsing, emails, etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): * Dell Optiplex 790 (Core i5-2400) --------------------------- So I'm planning on sending a bunch of old PCs to recycle center because I need to make space in the storage room and server room. Some of those include old Dell Optiplex 790 desktop towers and small form factors. A lot of them have busted PSUs, so I'm mainly reusing the motherboard from one of the towers, RAM and i5-2400 CPU, and transplanting it onto a spare mid-tower case I have at home. Will I have any issue with the motherboard's compatibility with an ATX case, or just stuff I need to keep in mind in general?
  7. At work, I use a VGA KVM switch to manage a set of PCs that I have to image and configure, and I'm trying to figure out why my peripherals weren't detected by the systems. It's the reason why I decided to ask. Just feeling skeptical how well they would work.
  8. So I wanna connect my peripherals to 3 PCs (2 Linux & 1 Windows). I have a Logitech G915 wireless gaming keyboard & M705 wireless mouse. I also have a K400 wireless keyboard + touchpad that I use from time to time when I need to be far away. And out of curiosity, if it does work, will I still be able to reassign devices with Logitech Unifying Receiver or customize my G915 with G Hub?
  9. I think I gave that a whirl a few weeks back, but I can't remember. I'll try that again. Upgrading my PC
  10. When I tried to update to Windows 10 2004 (I wanna give WSL2 a go), I get stuck at 99% & 31% with Update Assistant & Media Creation Tool, respectively. Any idea what I should fix?
  11. oh...must've been water Before the pandemic, that's what I used to clean up my stuff
  12. So I own a G-Skill MX780 mice and the rubber surface became sticky (I think it was the alcohol or disinfectant wipes I used to clean it). Is there a way to restore it to its original state, or do I have to remove the rubberized surface? In either case, what tools would I need?
  13. For the time being, I'm gonna trust PIA. It'd be a bad move on Kape's part if they betray us because PIA has a reputation for being pro-privacy. And besides, I still got 3 years.
  14. I can see future games requiring more storage from us I almost maxed out my 4TB HDD because of Videos alone, and my 2TB HDD is filled halfway already. 500GB 860 Evo is maxed out from games, and 1TB 860QVO is halfway. Gonna need to replace that 2TB with a 4TB HDD when I saved up enough.
