Question is definitely NOT stupid @Spork829

The notches on the connector you refer to are called a 'key' and what you described your laptop as having is a 'B & M Key edge connector' which is not compatible with the other two types, being 'B keyed' and 'M keyed'. So there will not be any compatibility across the different types due to their differences in the pin connection placement inside the key.
Secondly, your laptop most likely does have an M.2 type drive and it is most likely that it will be the M.2 SATA and not an M.2 mSATA SSD type, however, it is doubtful that you would be able to fit a 2280 M.2 drive inside the machine (it is 80 mm long!). More common in laptops where space is a premium you will find the 2240 M.2 SSD at 40 mm (my Alienware 14 has an M.2 mSATA drive), because, size matters!

As for working out what will fit inside, you will need to dig into what Lenovo has on your specific machine, try and document what drive it shipped with and then find an upgrade path from that. Alternatively, some storage retailers offer compatibility listings and if they list your device you might be able to use that to find an M.2 drive to fit. I have not seen any 1 TB 2240 sized M.2 SATA drives they might only go as big as 512 GB?

You should also contact Lenovo support they should be able to provide a Qualified Vendor List (QVL) of replacement HDD manufacturers for that machine.

    hope this helps

Yes, sata is 2 notch, pcie is 1 notch.
Just make sure the laptop supports m.2 NVME drives (pcie), otherwise it won't work.
For length it's pretty straightforward, just match the lenght of your current module.
Although the longer slots can accomodate the shorter one.

Intel 660p has mediocre performance, i won't get that if i were you, get samsung.

    Hi everyone,

I've been a long-time viewer of LTT, but this is my first time posting here.

Recently, I watched an old WAN Show clip in which Linus explains why Colton always gets fired. Luke mentioned that he used to get fired all the time. This led me down a "Linus firing people" rabbit hole, and indeed, poor Luke has been fired a bunch of times!! I decided to save these clips and create a short compilation of Linus firing his staff. While I was at it, I also made compilations for "segue to our sponsor" and, of course, LTTSTORE.COM shout-outs.

I hope you all enjoy these videos. I had fun creating the videos, and I've also made compilations for other YouTubers I watch regularly and decided to bunch them up in a YouTube channel.

(took me quite some time to create these, I ended up rewatching the Whole Room Water-cooling series)

This is a new thing that Google did with YouTube. It will be rolling out to everyone over the next few months. The leading theories seem to be centered around either Google trying to force users to turn back on Watch History or Google blanketly disabling sections of YouTube that depend on Watch History data when you turn it off.

My best interpretation of the latter is that Google doesn't want to have to spend developer time programming a different version of the front page for those with and without Watch History enabled.

My most cynical interpretation is that Google is trying to convince users that turning off Watch History "does something" when in reality Google probably tracks all your Watch History regardless of what you do, and this is a way of pretending that they don't. But when has Google ever lied about consumer privacy? It's not like this change came about right when a judge decided not to throw out a $5 billion dollar privacy suit against the company. That sure would be suspicious timing for a decision like this if that happened right when this changed.

Oops, I dropped a link that's totally unrelated to what I was just writing about... https://www.reuters.com/technology/google-fails-end-5-billion-consumer-privacy-lawsuit-2023-08-08/
