Northmountain reacted to Snadzies in E3 Right Now Seems like Boring BS
I couldn't watch the Bathesda event, I watched a couple minutes of the Fallout 4 gameplay till the news report said the bombs were dropping and had to stop.
I want to experience the rest of that game with little knowledge about what is going to happen.

Watching the Xbox event right now:
Tomb Raider - Trying way too hard. Everything and I mean every god damn thing you touch seems to collapse and almost kill you.
Sea of Thieves - Looks pretty damn sweet.
Fable Legends - Looked cool and It is coming F2P on PC (windows 10 only) and Xbox so I'll check that out.

That face scan they used for NBA would be kinda cool to implement in other games (I'm thinking RPG's and the like).

Northmountain got a reaction from Khraft in FOVE: The World's First Eye Tracking Virtual Reality Headset
I couldn't seem to find a thread on this anywhere on here. This might be due to the fact that the VR market seems to be getting saturated, what with Oculus, Sony and Samsung, and/or that the VR hype is cooling down, I don't know.

FOVE has a feature which I haven't seen in any of the other products, which is eye tracking. For those unfamiliar with eye tracking, it's basically a method of measuring where the human eye is looking, using infrared beams. It is already being used in a number of applications, such as market research and the like.

This adds another interesting dimension to VR, which I think makes FOVE stand out (at the moment). Besides numerous gaming applications (the most obvious one being aiming), it can be used for a number of other things as well, such as acting as an interface for people with limited mobility. There is for example a video of a child playing the piano, controlling it with his eyes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=111&v=--WyN7wJ5bI).
(SMI (SensoMotoric Instruments) does have an eye tracking upgrade for the Oculus (http://www.smivision.com/en/gaze-and-eye-tracking-systems/products/eye-tracking-hmd-upgrade.html) but it reportedly costs 14,850$ according to gizmag.com ( http://www.gizmag.com/eye-tracking-oculus-rift/34878/), which hardly makes it affordable...)

Pitch blurb from the kickstarter page:
    It will offer:
    ...and will be:

It looks like something pulled straight off the head of a storm trooper:

    Some tech specs:
Low persistence 5,8 inch screen, with a resolution of 2560x1440 and an FOV of 100+ and 60 fps (90 projected). Infrared eye tracking with a <0.2 degree accuracy. USB 3, DP and 3.5mm headphone jack.

As of the writing of this, they have already raised 438,000$ (goal being 250,000) with 18 days to go (!), campaign ending July 4th. Shipping of developer kits is planned for spring 2016.

Cheapest pledge is 349$, which should give you some (vague) idea of what the end product will cost when launched.

So the contest is over so I guess its fair to post!  My design attempts to closly model the origonal desktop version, while still expanding on the functionality.  The stand has 3 positions that it can be set up in depending on the desired function.

Shown bellow are the ways the stand can be arranged

Parallel to the wall to allow easy acces to either headphone supported.

Outwardly extended to support 2 full sized headphones mirroring the original design.

Fully retracted the top nearly touches the back plate, this would be most useful if only supporting 1 headphone.

For the sake of the contest the stand is shown as a single piece to help with the 3D print.  IRL It would most likely be 2 pieces screwed together from the back.  Connection fasteners are not shown either but if you look at the underside of the holder you can see the 2 square mounting points that allow for the 3 positions.

(Linus-  that pile of headphones on your desk could be solved with 3 of these and a desktop version, creating a matching set that are all different!)

Brothers- A Tale of Two sons.
Wonderful game I recently completed. A shining example to other indie devs. You guide two brothers on an adventure to find a cure for their sick father. Brilliant and innovative control scheme where each thumb stick controls one brother. Throughout the game they find very novels ways to implement gameplay mechanics all the while telling a solid, cohesive, emotional story without proper dialog. I played it on PC with an xbox one controller plugged in. Great art style as well and it's on the unreal 4 engine. Made by Starbreeze studios
