Ketcchup got a reaction from Roll_Like_Rollo in Experiences with non-techies
- Hey, Ketcchup, I want a new PC and I want to play LoL on it!
- Okay, look, you can buy this custom PC with this APU and this MB and this ram and etc...., I laso included the assembling in the setup so you don't have to do anything, just boot it up.
- Nice!! It will run much better than my current pentium 4 right?
- Yea, much better.
1 week later..
-HEY I finally bought this laptop.
- * looks at the paper* "Celeron N2830 2GB RAM" - WTF did you just do...
- WELL ITS NEW SO WILL RUN BETTER RIGHT??

Ketcchup got a reaction from TechGod in AMD x86 16-core Zen APU detailed
1TB memory limit? omg
with this news and the Intel's skylake secretism this seems to me to be a new Pentium 4 -> Core2 transition

Ketcchup got a reaction from QueenDemetria in When to recommend AMD CPUs
Mostly when someone wants to buy a Pentium g3258, an Athlon 860K is a much much better alternative
-
Ketcchup got a reaction from jaime98r in Need help. Mini itx build. G3258 & gtx960 or no?
G3258 is a facebook-pc cpu with the capability of overclock vs a mid-high tier CPU with also OC capability. G3258 It's an overrated CPU, 4690K is perfect for you.

Ketcchup got a reaction from Tarou in i7-3770 z77 time to upgrade?
No, Skylake is not offering even a 5% IPC increase. Your next possible upgrade point is AMD Zen or Kaby Lake (2016 both). Your 3770K is still strong, specially overclocked.

Ketcchup got a reaction from dalekphalm in Microsoft to buy AMD?! [updated]
I wonder how do you manage to run 64 bit apps and have more than 4gb Ram with Intel.

Ketcchup got a reaction from dalekphalm in Microsoft to buy AMD?! [updated]
Crying can't help intel nor any company. If Intel revokes x86 then AMD revokes x64, not including legal actions against Intel for monopoly.

Ketcchup got a reaction from FellTheSky in Good MB for Pentium G3258 and 280x/380/960
Stop recommending cheap FM2 mobos. Please stop, I don't know this mindset on people suggesting shit fm2 mobos. These CPUs eat 95W and 1.47V on average when overclocked. It's not like Intel where you can put 3+1VRM without headsink and be happy.A88XM-PLUS at least, A88Xm-Pro recommended.

Ketcchup got a reaction from DimasRMDO in FX 6300 cores
Not this thread again pls
AMD FX's architecture is based on bulldozer. Bulldozer uses modules instead of cores let's say.
Every module has 2 integrer "cores" but they share the FPU (floating point unit). It's not like HyperThreading, just sharing FPU.

Ketcchup got a reaction from qhnova in How was your pc building experience?
Scared as fuck. I bent half of my Athlon x2 pins and took me 3 hours to fix them.

Ketcchup got a reaction from wizardofzak in Weird problem with frame rates in games
Sounds like temperatures. Check task manager for some unusual load, too.
That port is complete shit lol, even people with enthusiast PCs get problems.

Well, 80º for CPU idling or not it's really high, it's probably throttling.
What cooler do you have? You should start buying a Cooler Master 212 for example.
Also, what motherboard do you have, too? another option is overheating VRMs
-
Ketcchup got a reaction from wizardofzak in Weird problem with frame rates in games
Can you download CPU-Z and tell what is your CPU frequency and voltage when playing? Those low CPU temps suggest low frequencies due to VRM throttling
Your motherboard has a 3+2 VRM setup without heatsink on them, so they're probably overheating and unable to feed the 8350's 125W

Ketcchup got a reaction from aviationjames in RAM Speed
It's running at the slowest RAM Module speed, 1333MHz.
DDR non-effective ram speed for 1333 MHz it's 666/667MHz and that's what is showing you, it's simple.
Also, in the hypothetical case that it's running at 667MHz you won't notice a difference.
-
Ketcchup got a reaction from ItsGinger35 in RAM Speed
DDR3 = Double Data Rate RAM version 3
It makes 2 operations every cycle, therefore 667MHz is in reality 1333MHz

Ketcchup got a reaction from zacRupnow in Peter Moore says EA would delay Star Wars Battlefront if it "isn't right"
The Batman effect... anyways this game will be shit as fuck, few maps and vehicles, I remember playing a shit ton of maps in BattleFront II

Your best option so far, this dude knows

Ketcchup got a reaction from SteveGrabowski0 in let's build a standard gaming pc for benchmark games
SSD is not a standard and will be when it reaches the same price per capacity of HDD.
SSDs only enhance loading times, wasting money on it instead of parts is unproductive as you don't get any performance improvement, just loading times.
