  1. This is a great idea and I would recommend it as well. Even though it seems a bit odd unplugging the HDD entirely is a very safe way go about it.
  2. Get the 750W - it's a great PSU!
  3. EVGA SuperNova G2 850Watt - high quality, black sleeved cables, 10year warranty, plenty of cable and so on. It's really great!
  4. EVGA is great - 10y warranty on their SuperNova-series, great looks (IMO) and it's just nice.
  5. Cooler Master has some great 80PLUS Gold PSU in that watt-range.
  6. Continued planning my upcomming build. This is the motherboard...
  7. Meget pænt, virkelig professionelt udført! Dejligt at se nogle danskere med seriøse systemer :-)
  8. RDP or Remote Desktop Protocol is build into Windows and there is an official Microsoft application in the App Store for OSX. I use it all the time for work and just basic tasks. The only thing you need to do is some port-forwarding on your router.
  9. If you don't want to use it in another build, then yes. You can sell it on Ebay.

First result on Google Come on dude......
  11. As we can see not a lot of people know about this.... LoL that 4chan thread has some funny links.
  12. Corsair PSU's are overpriced and they do not deliver anything special in their high price range. I've converted to EVGA only. They are great performers, supreme warranty (10 years on the SuperNova-series), all black cables and sleeving.
  13. I'd recommend something with a bit more power - a low TPD i3 or i5 would have some healthy headroom.
  14. None of these three cases are available in my country (Denmark).... However, the Enthoo Pro is available but I've found that the Fractal XL R2 might have good support as well. Thanks for the responses!
  15. Hi there, I'm building a workstation PC based around the Asus Z10PE-D16 WS motherboard which is of the SSI EEB form factor. I've got all the components figured out but this system needs a home. The problem is that SSI EEB is roughly the same size as a E-ATX motherboard but the layout for motherboard stand-offs is different.Finding a large case isn't difficult but finding one that has official support for SSI EEB is difficult. There is some server-cases but they are ugly as hell and very bulky. I would prefer a consumer desktop case. So, have anyone had any experiences with motherboards of this form-factor and what cases that will support the mounting layout? Your help is much appreciated! DemcoX99X
  16. @captain_WD, I've already used all my SATA-ports (also using onboard RAID, please see earlier comments). The goal is to create a drive pool for long time storage and redundancy. @scottyseng, Alright thanks a bunch! I'll look at specific models when I'm done with finals. You really provided some solid info - thanks :-)
  17. RAID-5 is what I want since I would most likely be adding more drives later on. I own several WD RED's so HDD's won't be a problem. So far I've just been adding drives when I needed more storage. Yeah, I'm familiar with the long creation time - it's not really a worry for me. Is this done the the LSI BIOS or from the Win desktop? Right now, RAID-cards is a jungle for me. Could you outline some good models or features I should be looking for? Thanks alot for the response!
  18. Thanks alot for the answers everyone! It's a mix of having no more SATA-port on my motherboard (yes, I've filled all 10) and wanting a more secure and fast storage solution on my main system. This drive-pool will be used as my main scratchspace.
  19. Stay away from the Seagates! They have been dropping like flies! Get a HGST or WD that will fit your budget. Kingston makes good SSD's compared to their prize.
  20. I use Amazon Cloud Drive with the Unlimited plan for ~70$ a YEAR - 5,83$ a month. Very simple desktop application, good speeds and easy to manage files through their website.
  21. Hello, I've been looking for a RAID card that I can use on my desktop PC. It will be used in Windows 8.1 Pro. Is it even possible to use a RAID-card in a standard desktop version of Windows? My countless google-searches didn't provide the answer so I would really appreciate your help! DemcoX99X
  22. Alright, thanks alot! I've bought the Dell either way - can't wait to get my hands on it
  23. Hello, I'm on the brink of a screen upgrade but have some doubt about connections several monitors. So the monitor I'm planning to buy is the Dell Ultrasharp U2515H which has one DP-port for signal in and one for signal out - in other words - daisy-chaining displays. I have a secondary monitor that uses a DVI to Displayport cable and I want to know, if this monitor if hooked to the new Dell monitor will the daisy-chaining work? My concerns are about compatibility with the daisy-chain technology and the DVI to DP cable. Thanks in advance :-) DemcoX99X
  24. Uhh, do you mean Intel graphics like in the HD4xxx series?
  25. Not sure if anyone has linked it (TL;DR) so here is a link: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_X99/ Also, Tiny Tom Logan has a review on his channel. It looks so good - almost feel like buying just to have it!
