  1. The Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVOs are finally starting to appear in the wild. https://lian-li.com/product/o11-dynamic-evo/ I am contemplating doing a white build and that case really stood out to me. The RGB lighting in the front might give you some cool creative options to build on your theme.
  2. So, I have been out of the PC building loop for the past few years. I built my rig back in December 2014 with a 5930K CPU and the Asus x99 deluxe motherboard (full specs below). It has been running great until earlier this month when random CPU overheating errors popped up. Essentially I went through a bunch of troubleshooting and all signs pointed to the pump on the liquid cooler (Kraken X61) giving out and I replaced it was a X62. That did not solve the issue and I got assistance from a friend with a 5820k to test out the individual parts and everything worked when isolated except the mobo. I am wondering if at this point it makes sense to upgrade the cpu and mobo together. I was very happy with the performance for the past 3 years (gaming, sandboxing, mining rendering) and if the rig had not stopped working, I probably would not be looking at making a change in cpus and would have put the money toward a Vive.
  3. Good choice. May you enjoy your new build!
  4. I'd go to Fractal Design and NZXT's websites and pick the case you like the best. They both come to the top of my head for minimalist, window designers.
  5. I doubt a majority of 5960X users fully utilize the benefits of their CPU beyond more mainstream consumer CPUs. Though for the minority of hardcore benchmarkers, video renders and CAD users who feel bottled necked by the 5960X I am sure this is welcome news.
  6. What kind of cooling do your GPUs have? If they are reference coolers or water cooled you will be fine using at H440. If not, you might have some issues with airflow in the H440.
  7. For those that play CSGO, is it just me or does it look like Asus threw an asiimov skin (with red instead of orange) on the 970?
  8. The X99 Deluxe issues seem to be largely resolve as of January. Worst case scenario, you can RMA it since the problems are usually pretty apparent quickly with those boards. If you do not plan on getting a 3rd GPU and utilizing the m2 slot the X99 Pro seems like it would be a good fit for you as an alternative.
  9. Yup. The deal is gone. Apparently we also missed the 240 gb model which was also on sale on Amazon for $76.
  10. Amazon price matched for $39.99 so there is that option if you have Prime. http://www.amazon.com/PNY-Optima-120GB-2-5-Inch-SSD7SC120GOPT-RB/dp/B00OIXZGOK
  11. Did you successfully purchase this pack? I remember the same thing happened to the Serious Sam collection for the US market a while back ($1.00) but when you went to check out it said the prices had changed since you added the items to your cart and put in the actual costs of the bundle.
  12. X99 budget build that comes in at less than $100 more than the 4790k. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PrdFMp
  13. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/t7mxjX Same price and it includes RAM and a OS drive.
  14. 1200w watts for a single GTX780 and a 4790k? But....why?
  15. Again since the costs of DDR4 have dropped a bit, the price difference between a 5820k build and a 4790k build is going to be reasonably similar (within $275.00). If that amount is inconsequential to you, then paying the additional amount on the chance your future uses will utilize the additional cores or save you time in your current tasks then it makes sense. Edit: I forgot the 4790k comes with a stock cooler so maybe some more saving. But who uses stock coolers, right?
