I sometimes feel like the only person in the universe that doesn't care about the TPM requirement and have far greater concerns about the MS account requirement. I refuse to upgrade until that completely arbitrary bullshit is removed, and it will eventually be. At least TPM does something even if it isn't perfect.

Edit: Seems Pro has already removed the account requirement. Bleh.

grayperview reacted to GamerDude in AMD Announces Fidelity FX Super Resolution, their competitor to nvidia DLSS
Peeps are getting hung up pixel peeping and focusing on image quality that the one big factor is often overlooked or glossed over by DF, that the feature/tech works on BOTH AMD GPUs (right down to RX 47/480/570/58 and up) and nVidia GTX 1000 series (would suggest at least a min of GTX 1060 and higher. Steve of GN had also said that the GTX 900 series works (though not officially verified/certified by AMD which more or less certified it for the GTX 1000 series).

I've tried it on my GTX 1080 on Godfall at 'Quality' preset at 4K and snagged about 40fps to 60fps which is quite playable. Looks great, and more importantly, allowed me to play Godfall at 4k with acceptable framerate. And honestly, while I'm playing the game, it looked good as I don't stop the game and zoom in/pixel peep as I'd be running around hacking and slashing.

A guy in the local forum tried Godfall at 4K native, said it was playable at about 70fps, but when he'd tried it with FSR at 'Ultra Quality', framerate went up to 90fps and it was overall smoother. He has an RTX 3080 and had said the PQ at Ultra Quality was very good, better than he'd expected.

I didn't bother using FSR on my main rig as my 6900 XT can handle the game at 'Epic' setting plus RT enabled and still net about 100fps at 3840x1080. Without RT, I'd snag about 120fps....

grayperview reacted to pythonmegapixel in Comcast extends data caps
Bloody hell... in the UK we've had unlimited broadband* as standard for probably almost a decade now, and providers in the USA are only just introducing capped data?

    * There's obviously an inherent limit in how much data you can consume per month because - for example - a 100 mbit connection can't possibly transfer more than approximately 33TB in 30 days, because even if you saturate the connection that's as fast as it goes. Also there are of course acceptable use policies, but as long as you aren't trying to host YouTube on your little home DSL connection you'll probably be fine...

I thought the GT4 pack was a bit expensive too, i will pick it up when it's on sale though. Given i only drive the 488GT3 in ACC i could actually skip it altogether i suppose.

love the stick shift, but i am not using it, since i run the Rseat N1, which is a 100KG rig, but the shifter is mounted, so i can feel the shifts in the seat, from my Fanatec shifter. it annoys me, everything else is ROCK solid.. so i only use the wheel shifters.

need to find a solution to decouple the shifter from the rig, but having it stable.

I watched a good 16 hours of Le Mans Virtual at the weekend, it was a fantastic race with some amazing drivers, i have done about 10 laps of Le Mans in the 488 since picking it up this week, i am down to a 4.09, with a few setup tweaks, I need to gain a bit of confidence in the cars breaking and i think ill be under 4.00 with a bit of practice and few more setup tweaks.

i must admit, i normally go for the LMP cars.. but i do love the 488 in this.. there is just something about the 911, in real life if i lived in any other country than EXPENSIVE car country Denmarks, then i would have had a new 911 2S in the carport.

the 488 has so much work to be done with it, i feel like it is the worst setup car of the 911, Corvette and 488... the 911 however is the one that i seem to have the hardest time to save, when i get it wrong..

i just love when the 488 setup is right, it really feels like i can get rotation on it.. and placement is a joy in that car... there is so much more time in it to gain, with correct setup... yes the 4.00.36 was with stock setup, but low fuel, soft tires, and qualifying settings on the fuel.

Ahh, great success for sim racing, with the Rfactor2-WEC Le mans this weekend, ended up nearly following it as much as i watch the real Le Mans, and being able to join though youtube streams, following the team chats, and mindset of individual racers was nice..

had to spin up Rfactor 2 again, but damn i am rusty, got 10 laps yesterday in the Ferrari 488 on softs, but without setup so i am missing around 20kph on the straights, so 4.00.34 was the best i could do, Far from the 3.48.xx of the fastest porsche, and the normal laptimes they did in race of 3.50-3.55 ish. (they did a "guest" leaderboard on danish tv on a DD2 wheel and sprint pedals, the best they did in a "unsetup" car was 4.06 and most was in the 4.22ish+)

so guess i need to work on setups. still nice to play Rfactor again, way better driving experience than Iracing.

    still NICE day..

guess it is time to upgrade the old Clubsport V2.5 wheel and pedals to a Sprint Pedal set and DD2 wheel.

don´t think the wife deems that as a "great" investment.
