II don't think the chip took other components with it, more likely the blown chip is not the cause but a consequence of something else failing like something in the power supply circuitry.
 
No point hunting for the chip if the rest of the machine is dead.

Look closelier... can actually see "118" on the right.
It's a Realtek chip so it starts with RTL, can see the R at the beginning of the same line.
So a little search later... RTL8118, Ethernet controller.

I.e. non-essential. As long as you make sure the footprint is clean with no shorts you can try to run the machine without it - if it doesn't work then more stuff is fried.

I've tried the push-pull config in the case before, but because of the cable shroud of the S340, I was not able to fit another 120mm or 140mm fan on top of the rad to make it completely push-pull config. So instead of using four (4) regular thickness fans, I was only able to use three (3) 2fans as intake (push), one (1) at the bottom for pull and the top was left empty.

love the drawings. when people post networking stuff and its all very complicated, i always have to ask them for a visualization. thanks A LOT. for the pc's running windows 10,  turn on network discovery. not sure about the ras pi. for the phone (i assume android) you can probably get some app to be able to share files. 
 
you can, according to your router manual, connect a hard drive to the usb on the router to share files too. 

nobody understands how much this helps. 
 
just to clarify, windows can see windows, phone can see ras pi, ras pi can see phone. but windows cannot see phone or raspi?

What do you mean by LAN and WAN aren't in the same network?
 
LAN is your local network, WAN is the Internet.  They SHOULDN'T be the same network by definition!

However the WiFI should be bridged to the LAN and thus IS the same network.  Although it may also be a second guest LAN or have client isolation that stops WiFi clients talking to each other.

so this was just an issue with your isp router/modem combo?
no wonder. they always give you trash stuff. I always suggest to buy your own if you can afford it. 

I may be wrong, but i think that to be able to ping devices, there needs to be software on the device that runs the ping program on both ends. A smartphone may not have that (I tried it on mine and i did not work either).

    * Network Switch - TP-Link TL-SG1016DE 16port Smart Switch
    * 5 Desktop Computers (all connected to the Network Switch)
    * 1 Smartphone
    * 1 Raspberry Pi Zero W
 
 
My Problem:
    * I have noticed that devices connected via ethernet cable are the only ones listed on the network. I am able to ping their individual IP Addresses and they are able to access both the Modem/Router & the Network Switch.

    * The same can be said with devices connected to WIFI.

    * What can I do to have both Wired & Wireless Connections share my files and be on the same network?

Try to test your actual speed with iPerf (JPerf for a GUI). If that is fast, the problem is Windows file sharing and not your network.

ah that makes more sense so both are directly connected to the gigabit switch and you transfer directly from one PC to the other correct?
 
do you use SMB to transfer this files?

Can you show us what your PC shows about the connection? I'll leave an example of my 1Gbps connection.
Can you also show us a schematic of your layout?

that should not be happening, if you go through the 100mbit router one side should not be detecting gigabit speeds.

Can you test another switch?
Zip the file and transfer it that wat?
Test it in safe mode with networking?

ah thats a big info right there, i though you transfer ONE file 2.9GB so i had no it would be so slow.
 
it looks like you are limited to 10mbit right now for whatever reason and that would mean max 1.25mb/s with the overhead of trying to transfer multiple small files it could be normal to have that speeds.
 
if your computer detecting 100mbit or 10 mbit on the network interface?

Can you elaborate a little more?
 
Is one PC connected to the switch (physically) and the other to the router over WiFi?
Are you transferring many smaller files or one large file?

Getting limited from the router. 100Mbps isn't fast. You're likely getting bottlenecked by the hardware of one of the PCs. Are you using your Windows 10 PC while copying files? 

well...my computers support gigabit connections. both are connected to a gigabit switch so both should register on the TP-Link Switch as gigabit compatible and the gigabit indicator LED lights up.

The ones connected to my router are the modem and switch.

Well as the title suggests, I have this old dual core pc with 4GB of DDR2 memory. And I have a Core2Quad Q8200 lying around and was hoping to swap the CPU's.
When I did the swap, the new CPU is not recognized and the PC will then shutdown.
I've checked the HP website and no BIOS update was available.
Is there anything I could do to have it up and running using the Q8200?

Make sure you follow the instructions to the letter and DO NOT TURN OFF THE SYSTEM. Unless directed to by the software.

If the problem still persists and you really want to use an add in card the solution might be to use a different processor. I am not sure that the board will support it but the i5-2380P has no IGP in it and it is a sandy bridge processor. Read this : Sandy bridge with no graphics  Like I said IT may not work on your motherboard as it is not a processor that was available for the Dell 660, so do it at your own risk. I say that cause you will be out the $$$ spent on the try. I have done worse and came out better.

Depending on the BIOS Version which is running you may/may not the advanced tab.
 
Advanced Menu > Chipset > Southbridge Config/Settings
From there, you should have something along the lines of Primary Graphics adapter / Main Graphics Adapter
 
The A11 revision may/may not have it, can't flash a machine at the moment to try it out
