There are cases of bad laws and cases of good laws.  Unfortunately due to human nature there are always going to be people who need laws to protect them, A great example of this is how many people are still alive today because the law made them wear a seat belt or motorbike helmet.

Absolutely.  Although there are the odd one or two that disagree (for what ever reason), I find more studies that support  this.
 
I don't smoke, rarely drink and avoid most unhealthy situations, however I would toke weed before I got in a race car.

not a good study due to the low number of participants. doesnt include variables such as how active the individuals brain is when not smoking. as for THC reduction in blood it can take up to a month depending on the persons metabolism (higher metabolism reduces THC levels faster). Im not fully convinced. while they're on the right track, they need better participant numbers in their study

It's not BETTER for you than alcohol, it's less bad.
I know a couple people who smoke weed on a regular base but they mix it with tobacco, that makes it a lot worse because of the addictive substances in tobacco.

"psychic problems" and "hallucinations"? we are talking about cannabis here not acid. please show me any evidence or a scientific journal that states smoking weed causes mental illness or hallucinations. please enlighten me. your making false statements and then trying to back it up with the the fact its illegal in some places. Paranoia may be due to people smoking weed but maybe if they didnt have to look over their shoulder all the time while they do it then no paranoia would ensue. Washington DC legalised recreational use or marijuana not too long ago and there has been no negative outcomes of that decision to date. nobody has OD on weed. nobody has been in a car crash while driving high. crime activity has been lowered. as well as that it helps a range of diseases and conditions from alzheimers to crohns disease and research is being done to see if CBD (an active compound in marijuana) can reduce the growth and spread of cancer which in my opinion is much better than having chemotherapy. and weed is used to treat the side offects OF CHEMOTHERAPY. so please tell me how it is a bad thing when the US capital has legalised it?

I understand what you mean, I really do.Let's say that I made the decision to not use deodorant or bathe anymore. If I happen to be hanging out in front of a mall you were walking into it may be equally unpleasant, does that mean you should have the right to force me to shower?

I've never heard of someone ODing on Dat dank kush but i've witnessed people die solely due to alcohol. So that's a thing.

It sounds like you could go for either. If primarily for video editing, both are equally good. People may say this is better or that is better (and there will be truth to those arguments), the bottom line is you will get perfectly acceptable results with either.
 
So which one should you go for? I personally like windows as it is the most supported OS in terms of 3rd party programs. If you are looking for some obscure program, chances are it will always be available for Windows but not necessarily OSX or Linux.
 
Then there is the look and feel of the OS. This is just personal choice.
 
Then there is what your peers are using. If everyone around you is on OSX and you are working on Windows, you may come into porting issues when trying to share project files (double check that with more knowledgeable people though - I don't use video editing software much). 
 
Then there is price. That again is up to you.

OSX has a superior audio stack and likely will continue to for a long time, so sound people love using Macs for that kind of work. Some people just prefer how Final Cut Pro works for video. Its all preference. 
Their laptops all come with calibrated panels out of the box (and some of the best in the business), so if you like editing on the go, its a nice choice.
I was in the market for a powerful, 15" laptop that had great battery life AND power That narrowed me down to stuff like the Blade, the Alienware 17 and the rMBP. The Alienware went out since it was chunky. The Blade and rMBP were left. In the end, I went with what I can run all OSs on - the Mac. 
 
Personal preference. For me, it was a 2k proposition anyways. Means nothing what I get. I just had a better workflow on OS X, so that was that. And yes, spare me from the "LOL YOU COUL BUILD BETTER DESKTOP". I know that. A powerful desktop however is useless when I'm on the road.
