Don't even bother with Amsterdam any more (at least if the mission is to get super baked) as they've changed a lot of the laws there to curb the pot-tourism industry. Better off just going to Colorado, Washington (state) or now Alaska. Washington, DC has legalized possession as of midnight February 26, 2015. Residents 21 and over will be able to posses up to 2 ounces and up to 3 mature plants in the home. No buying or selling will be allowed (because Congress is a bunch of dicks) but home grow is all I really want anyways. Congress has threatened some of the DC officials with being arrested if they go through with it, the Mayor of DC basically has said, 'IDGAF'

Australia has black market tobacco which is significant;y cheaper than legal tobacco products. Froots is right, any tax on weed will simply keep the supply cost high and growers in business, so a low tax that makes growing it at home for sale is not going to be profitable enough to warrant the time and cost. Thus the governments small tax will net them a higher income.

I think my point was there would be more people smoking which you agreed thus making POSSIBLY more drivers on the road. I wasn't trying to say lets not legalize it because everyone is going to die from high drivers (although seeing all these high drivers doing like road rage in traffic would be hilarious) it was just a thought that maybe we should think about the possibility of it having a negative effect in that sense.
Exactly! the side effects from this bs is what the governments use as there arguments yet if it was government regulated we wouldn't have as bad of a problem. I really don't understand why they don't want to legalize it anyway the tax from this would be huge plus they know the untouched stuff is fine which they could prove to the public so all the soccer mums wouldn't all freak out.
its hard to find an acceptable tax for weed though. as well as that, the tax would be optional because even though it would be legal, the black market would still sell it cheaper than market price meaning they keep customers as well as that black market is tax free

if it was legal i doubt it would happen in the legal market. i doubt companies who think its dangerous would like to add any problems to it after realising its not dangerous. black market shit would probably still do it but i doubt it would happen in the legal market
